It's frustrating, but I'm used to it. I've been living in United States legally since 2003. I've been on H1B since early 2010. Since I already have a H1B and have a stable job using that Visa, I don't really have any grounds to request an expedite for the I-765. I'm originally from India, and right now travel for H1B visa holders to and from India is banned. That is why I requested an AP travel document on humanitarian grounds as I'm thinking of visiting my aging parents in India. They have lost multiple close family members in the last few weeks due to covid-19, and psychologically it has been very hard for them. I want to visit India as soon as the covid situation is under control over there.

All you have to do is to type "live chat" (or could be "live agent" instead. has to be one of either) as soon as you open up EMMA. Then it will ask you what category and you will have to choose "Green Card". After that, you will be connected to a live agent. Just ask which service location your case is and they will answer. At least this is how I got mine...
Btw, USCIS case tracker does not show anything related to interview on my case. It's still on fingerprint taken.

Had our interview awhile ago. It was a smooth interview. Though they ask me about a copy of my medical. I told them that I gave the whole packet to the immigration officer in our port of entry which is Los Angeles. He said it was not in my files. Glad that I have extra copy of my vaccination record. So he photocopied it. The officer told us that he can't make any decisions right now cause he needs to review our case. I didn't received any RFE for a medical. So we finished the interview and went home. After 2hours I checked my case online. Nothing change. Then around 4:30pm I checked again. Lo and behold, card is being produced for both me and my son. Praise the Lord. God is good.
I will miss this site. Without you guys here I dont know how my experience will be like. Im thankful for Visajourney.
Maybe see you again after 2year for removal of conditions.
Godbless you all.

Hello September filers.
So later today at 1:35pm is our AOS interview at Chicago.
Hoping for a positive outcome.
Still haven't filed my SSN. I will do it after the interview since I'll be sending them original documents thru mail. Or I can go in person again but it will be in May 11. That's a very long time to wait.
Anyway, have a good day everyone.

Fam! If you wanna complain, you can complain, no one here has the right to bother/bully anyone. It's a free space and we should all respect the opinion and feelings of everyone. So please, air your thoughts, your complaints and your frustrations if you so please.

Man, you had me sweating there... You should write a suspense novel, lol
On the other hand, thank God it wasn't a rejection... Good luck to you both.

Thank you. I can't wait for this to be over though. Really wanted to work and do some stuff.
I'm glad to update so others can look to their timeline.
I feel frustrated lately because I thought there's no movement in our case since we already had our Biometrics last November. And seeing people having updates just weeks after bio makes me feels that life is so unfair. But just when I thought that there's no movement, God surprises me with updates since last week. God is alive indeed.
So don't lost hope. Yours is coming. Just pray and be patient.
Glory be to God.

dmykel7 reacted to carmel34 in Pending AOS but can I study
Correct. The caveat for most states is to present additional evidence to satisfy residency requirements. In many states it is a year but it varies, and schools make the decision on a case-by-case basis. OP did not say how long the B2 overstay was, but I assumed from the post that entry on the B2 was before the pandemic so February or March 2020, at the latest sometime in the Summer of 2020, and the master's degree program would likely begin in Fall 2021, so the one year requirement should be satisfied by then. That's why I only focused on OP's question about documents needed to show status in the US, and no F-1 visa would be needed with a pending I-485. Regardless of in-state vs. out-of-state tuition, OP can enroll at a US university now. Worst case scenario, he/she may have to pay out-of-state tuition for one semester and then convert to in-state.

dmykel7 reacted to carmel34 in Pending AOS but can I study
You will be fine with a pending I-485 and should qualify for in-state tuition if you are applying to a public university, it depends on the state so check with the school to confirm:
4. Students with Adjustment of Status Applications Pending
Students who have filed USCIS Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Resident or Adjust Status,
qualify for in-state tuition pending a decision on their application. The following are acceptable proofs of this
status:
A USCIS Receipt Notice for the Adjustment of Status Application: Form I-797C indicating that the
receipt is for an I-485 Adjustment of Status application; or
A USCIS Receipt indicating that the fee for the adjustment application has been received. This receipt
usually lists application type (in this case I-485), name of the applicant, alien number (“A” number) and
the amount paid; or
Employment Authorization Card (I-766) with the code (c)(9) or (c)(24)
Good luck with your master's degree!
