moxy got a reaction from laylalex in New Texas law opens up abortion bounty hunting
The same people who push these infringements on personal freedoms are the same people who would lose their minds if you replaced "abortion" with "second amendment."

For example, over in the Current Events and Hot Social Topics forum, back in April am moderator just up and decided that, effectively, you cannot criticize the source of an article or other news source. (for example, if the basis behind a post is a link to a far-right or far-left website, you can't use that as a basis to argue against the post's topic) Or at least that's my take and others' takes, because we can't actually ask for, or receive an explanation for the action. Members are not allowed to discuss a moderator action in the open, and some moderators will not explain their actions, even in PM.
So the environment that's been created over the years is that some mods take actions based on some nebulous criteria, and members are cut off from understanding those actions. And so in the Current Events forum at least, there is a tacit understanding that criticizing sources is verboten, and will possibly result in moderator action, or possibly not. Who knows. In any case, it's action that has been seemingly taken, despite not being against the TOS.
And just so we're clear, Hashtag notallmods

Yeah. Some moderators have forgotten that their job is literally to moderate discussion, not to be the gatekeepers of discussion. There is definitely room for improvement.

Huh. Now that you mention it, my wife was pretty eager for me to get it too. I just thought she wanted better 5G coverage.

The non-Delta variant can also "breakthrough" the vaccines. No vaccine is 100% effective. That's not how they work. But the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are still highly effective against the Delta variant. You are at much more risk if you are unvaccinated.

Cool, you disagree with their message of inclusion. That's fine.
But there is nothing in a message of inclusion that speaks to destroying the nuclear family or a Marxist ideology. Literally the message was about extending the nuclear family, not destroying it.

Again, I don't speak for the Democratic Party. If you want to say the baseball practice shooting was worse, have at it, I won't argue with you. Because frankly, it doesn't even matter. An insurrection was staged on our capital in an attempt to overturn an election. That's what matters. Everybody of every political persuasion who supports the democracy should be very, very concerned about that.

Just FYI, you'd generate better quality conversation if your immediate impulse wasn't just to be hyperbolic.

It's not surprising to me. Anecdotally, I don't think I've ever known anyone who moved out of state because they just couldn't take California anymore. (I'm sure they exist. I just haven't met them.) Most people I know moved because of work, to be with family, or just because they wanted the lifestyle in another state.

Ted Cruz... his name starts with "T" and "C" but the "C" sounds like a K. So... TK. Just like... Ted Kennedy.
They're not just cousins. THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON!!!1

The steps to reinstatement are pretty well known at this point: get Trump elected, make in Speaker of the House, impeach Biden/Harris, Speaker Trump ascends to presidency bla blah. But the PDF from their website is gold.
