Why can a large age difference be a problem?
TBoneTX replied to stevnim's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
In Latin American countries, the man can easily be 15 to 20 years older; presuming that nothing else is amiss, it won't raise an eyebrow. In some cultures -- from what I see here, Middle Eastern and African -- cultural "red flags" include a young male beneficiary seeking to marry an older female U.S. petitioner who may not be able to give him children. That tends to raise questions in the minds of consular officers. *** Thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to General Immigration Discussion. *** -
My husband is a narcissist
TBoneTX replied to B&DT's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Sincerely sorry about your situation. You're doing the right thing by asking here. Things WILL get better. I would also try to talk to a consular officer at your U.S. consulate. This serves the dual purpose of handling the official business surrounding your not proceeding with the visa, and also getting accurate, complete advice about how to proceed. Consider doing this promptly. -
Thoughts about this? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the Name of Climate Change: Travel Restrictions and the Great Reset If you experienced unprecedented delays during air travel this summer, the airlines likely blamed it on the weather. You might have been surprised, for bad weather wasn't reported in the news. But here is what should surprise and shock you even more. The real reason – a shortage of pilots and air traffic controllers (ATCs) – is linked to [...] https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2023/07/in_the_name_of_climate_change_travel_restrictions_and_the_great_reset.html

What NASA and the European Space Agency are admitting but the media are failing to report about our current heat wave The current heat wave is being relentlessly blamed on increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but there is a much more plausible explanation, one that is virtually endorsed by two of the world's leading scientific organizations. It turns out that levels of water vapor in the atmosphere have dramatically increased over the last year-and-a-half, and water vapor is well recognized as a greenhouse gas, whose heightened presence leads to higher temperatures, a mechanism that dwarfs any effect CO2 may have. Interesting. Comments? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Are the Chinese planning the ultimate bloodless war against the US? If you could plan the perfect war, it would be one that would completely destroy your enemy without any cost to your troops or infrastructure. Two recent news reports could be read to mean that China is preparing precisely that kind of war against the United States. Really interested in your thoughts on this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tim Scott Is Too Soft to Be Our Nominee The rap on Tim Scott is that he is too nice to be a modern Republican, but that's wrong – he's too weak to be a modern Republican. The man consistently defaults to submission to the woke left, but the times call for a warrior and his brand is soft surrender. Rand Paul: Email Shows Fauci Senate Testimony 'Absolutely a Lie,' Files Criminal Referral Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and former Chief Medical Advisor to the President Dr. Anthony Fauci have clashed repeatedly in the Senate in the past over whether the U.S. funded virus "gain-of-function" research, a charge Fauci adamantly denied. It was clear the two men didn't like each other, but now Paul is ratcheting it up to another level—he's officially filing a criminal referral with the Department of Justice alleging that the good doctor flat-out lied to him in sworn testimony. Or, maybe not... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Devon Archer's Attorney Releases Statement About DOJ 'Intimidation' Letter [...] So while it may still be an effort to intimidate, given the timing, it was a bit more nuanced than some were saying; they're not actually rushing out to lock him up tomorrow. Pentagon Investigating 'Critical Compromise' of Air Force Communications Systems A Tennessee-based engineer is being investigated by the Pentagon for a "critical compromise" of communications across 17 Air Force facilities. VAWA, Part 26
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Ah, Sunday -- time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke: ================================= GOOD SHORT ONES Two things to make your day better: 1. Do not watch the news. 2. Stay off the bathroom scale. One minute, you're 21, staying up all night drinking beer, eating pizza, and doing sketchy stuff for fun. Then, in a blink of an eye, you're 51, drinking water, eating salad, and unable to do any sketchy stuff because you pulled a muscle putting on your socks. When we're young, we sneak out of our house to go to parties. When we're old, we sneak out of parties to go home. I just failed my driving test. When the examiner asked me, "What sign would you expect to see when driving down a narrow country road," apparently "fresh eggs for sale" isn't the answer... After every Bank Holiday weekend, I say to myself, "Susan, you have to stop drinking so much wine." Luckily, my name's not Susan. "I just cleared out some space in the freezer" sounds much more productive than "I just consumed another quart of ice cream." The longest drum solo was 10 hours, 26 minutes. It was performed by the child sitting behind me on flight 963 from Los Angeles to Tokyo. I just fired myself from cleaning my house. I don't like my attitude and I got caught drinking on the job. Cop: You were speeding. Me: I was just trying to keep up with traffic. Cop: There isn't any. Me: I know! That's how far behind I am.
