DoodBoy got a reaction from podeena in IR1 at ISL Waiting for IL 2022
thx for the positive vibes, ahh its not that they were greedy. Actually, wife was young and immature. So her cousin filled her head with was-was and turned her against me in order to seduce her n she fell for it. So they both plotted to run away.. This girl was so innocent n sweet in 3 yrs ago, but social media n crazy pk soap operas on affairs/divorce topic just groomed her into this selfish person over yrs. She was a selfless person but i guess, people can change w/ time. It's a test from Allah indeed...so i wouldn't say they were greedy.. its just they felt like i abandoned her.. So young people these days, have no patience, this is the tiktok generation being groomed to swipe to the next video n next video... so to them now human relationships are like that tiktok video, if not fulfilling enuff, swipe n move to the next one.. n next one.. Patience is no more.. So, deep down i can understand whats happening.. all we can do is watch it happen, you cant force someone to change or make them understand things.. in end one has to accept the fate n carry on, despite the wounds.
I am only child of elderly parents, whose only dream left was to see me married n play with grandkids. I did all i could, patiently waited n waited only to see her slip further away from me.. Its a test for us all. May Allah accept our efforts.

hello everyone, its been a while since i checked up on interviews. Looks like progress has been made for many. Congrats.
Unfortunately, it seems my wife has decided to not go to interview and infact wanting to end marriage as well. So over 3+yrs of wait, all the efforts, seems to go down the drain. I am going to blame the lengthy visa process for this breakup. The family of wife was TIRED of waiting so long and felt they couldn't wait any longer and relationship strained with them deciding to end the marriage.
My wife interview is this week. If she doesn't show up? what happens? anyone know..
Also is it possible that i can contact NVC n tell them my story and request that they give me some break. Like if i want to marry someone else from PK. That i dont have to wait another 3-4 yrs like last time.. is there room for this? i can no longer wait 3yrs to start family. My father is devastated by this.. we are heart broken, we did all we can from our end but this lengthy process was eating up wife's family as they had their relatives made their lives living hell n filled ears of distrust and its looks like its over..
Any advice for me, can i request NVC, will they give me a chance n speed up my case for my future wife. It will be very difficult for me to marry in USA now given now after having to wait 4 yrs, i'll be 40yr old n it's difficult to find good god fearing girls in USA.. Its why we opted for PK. It is unfair, being a US citizen i had to wait this long.. i don't wanna say my life is ruined because i have faith in God n losing hope is a sin. It's just, i feel like i've been robbed by this crazy process to get my wife to be with me to start life. I hope no one goes through what i been through for last few years.
Thanks,

Interview experience
IR1-islamabad
Dq 18th dec 2020
Interview date 7th apr 2022
Interview time 8.30
Reached shuttle station at 6.45am got my shuttle pass for 3000 Rs. The shuttle droped us at the main gate where the staff divided us in to two lanes immigrant visa(IV) and non immigrant visa applicants.
After showing the interview letter they gave us the pass at the gate and guide us into the building for security checking.
After security check i was told to take the elevator to 2nd floor to visa section where i was given 2 tokens. 1 for doc submission and 2nd for interview. After waiting for sometime they announced my token number where i have to submitt my civil docs (original) with passport and 2 recent photographs. The civil docs were
Original birth certificate.
Nadra Marriage certificate.
Urdu marriage certi.
Translation of urdu maariage cert.
Saudi Police clearance certi.(i lived there after 16 years of age for 2 years)
Passport
2 recent photographs
After submiiting the docs the person at the window told me to wait for my turn for interview at the other window.
I noticed that all the CO at the interview stations took around 5 to 10 minutes to review the docs u submitted at the window and at ceac before starting ur interview.
After around 40 minutes of w8 i was called at the window.
The CO greeted me and confirmed my identity.
Question asked.
1. Who is calling u?
2.Whats her name?
3. When u married?
4. Have u ever married b4?
5. Do u have any childrens?
6.whats your wife do?
7. When she moved to U.S?
8. Why she moved there?
9.where she lives?
10. How u guys communicate?
11.how many times u guys met after marriage?
12. Whats ur highest level of education?
13. What u do for living?
14. Have u been to another country?
15. Purpose of visiting that country?
He then asked me for photographs. I had uploded the photographs on ceac before interview and also printed them in A4 photo paper so that they can easily slide through the window. I arranged the photogrpahs in wedding, selfies, family time, gift records, chat logs SS, call logs SS.
The CO looked at the pictures and asked some questions.
Who is this? (Wedding pic)
How many guests were at your wedding?
Whats happening in this photograph?
Does your wife parents attended the wedding?
Where are they? Show me?
How u send the gifts?
After that he congratulated me saying your visa is approved and gave me the approval letter and asked me did i got the spouse rights doc. To which i replied yes. He returned me all my original docs and kept my passport and told me to expect my passport with visa witin 2 weeks.
Side note
I had made 4 different files and labeled them accordingly.
1st civil documents.(contain all my original docs, ds 260 print etc)
2nd financial. ( tax records, AoS etc)
3rd. Supporting docs.(pictures, SS chat and call logs, copy of petitioners driving license, paaspprt, naturalization cert., ticket records etc)
4th set of the photocopies of the above said. (Although its not required but i took them just to be on the safe side. If they needed).

People with expedite can get it quicker but it's very difficult to get expedite approved.
They will ask your wife why you didn't visit her after your marriage so prepare answer for that. I'm not entirely sure but you could submit a written explanation as to why you didn't visit under additional documents in CEAC. You can even explain that you intend to visit once your wife's visa is issued. There are plenty of people who couldn't visit because of work and covid. If possible, do try to visit otherwise just follow the above mentioned steps.
You can't replace the pictures themselves but you will upload everything under additional documents. Best time to submit would be after you have received your wife's IL.
Yes. CEAC is the site where the DS-260 and the AOS documents were submitted.
P.S. I am attaching a response someone gave to a post with a similar situation as you.
t shouldn’t cause an issue as long as you can explain why you weren’t able to visit. The interviewers there are all from the US so I’m sure they’re aware of the extremely short amount of vacation time we get

Yes,
Culture mainly. Brought up in west my views have shifted definately. Parent's role should be that of a coach not dictator. They should help you, guide you navigating the stages of life.
Asian parents/families tend to be overprotective of their kids. It's love indeed but it's suffocating love where it seems to be hard for them to let their offspring fly away. Lot of asian parents want to ''énjoy'' seeing their kid have a marital life..specially grandkids r everything to them. They feel they invested all their life to raising kids n somehow kids owe them back by marrying the good girl (their defination off) thats where bounderies are crossed n often compatiblity is overlooked just because the girl is from their brother or friend. She is still an independent being & could be an A-hole n what not? so that due diligence part is overlooked if they KNOW the family... that is BIGGEST mistake in arrange marriages, i noticed. Arrange marriages of old days were different because in past kids followed their customs n values. Nowadays, arrange marriages is just like convenient matrimonial service agents putting pressure to say YES.
Billa48, i think MANY people of our planet have the false understanding of Love. After discovering many flaws in my arrange marriage partner, i wanted to END it but then i came across swiss philosopher Alain De Botton on concept of love, which totally changed me from seeking romanticism/superficial LOVE to one of REALITY based, i think it's worth a watch. (English begins at 1:10) I summarize concept of love is as following: Love is commitment. commit to anyone/anything in life & efforts will bear fruits (insha-Allah) cave-at: must have a cooperating partner.

ahh what? easy? isnt petition approval the HARD PART? like they wanted bona fide marriage n to see if its LEGIT marriage n all.. thhat part was hardest given we were away from eachother for past 1.5 yrs. n we were able to convince that its a legit marriage... so i feel that was the HARD part...
Why do u feel i should visit her BEFORE interview? i am just curious... like what could they be asking? i was thinking interview would be easy now its just formality.. cuz it seems the background check/due diligence is cleared. Interview is usually 5-10 minutes on average.. so i am thinking they just want to know the basics like how did we meet, how do we keep in touch, n proof of financial support etc. .
Reason i haven't been able to visit is, covid....then we had lot of turnover, i had to hold down the FORT at my employer. WHen i did get some time off Omicron surfaced US (december) it was unpredictable at that time.. travel bans could be issued from XYZ countries, so i didn't travel, otherwise i was going to go, spend 15 with her n return.
Again, what is the logic behind me going there before the interview. As far as i know, they won't even let anyone in the consulate building, other than interviewee.. so why waste the time/money n vacation time which is limited due to high turn over.
i was thinking Once she gets visa, i will get time off n bring her with me.. if i go now(use up my vacation days n return to USA) n then once she gets visa in nex 2-3 month.i won't be able to go becuz vacation days used up.. .. so that would mean another delay.. that's my situation.

Yes, but AP for females is often shorter or nothing. It's unpredictable. It's unfortunate the OP formed unrealistic expectations. If her family is having a problem with the length of the process, it's probably because THEY were given unrealistic expectations as well. Time to come to an understanding all around.

thanks kor2usa(sangwoo) Ali here haha (jokes /squidgame references, aside).. thanks for the detail responses man... 3months for DQ, ok thats comforting. denial at interview (worst case) means reprove/ re-apply i130 means 2yrs more wait? that's insane.
Ok so 1 more year, got it. I guess Summer should be right time to vacation there then. We have a semi beef lately. Her family upset that process is so long.. n wife is getting spoiled by tiktok feminist mov't.
So yea, things to think about.. enjoy my 'freedom' till then? 😊
looking at that thread, a guy has 22months of AP? wta heck?... thats after clearing interivew?i thought passports comes back in 2 weeks once interview is cleared.

I suggest you visit your wife with ALL the vacation time you have. It might be another year or so before she has the opportunity to fly to the USA.

Again, you've not done a lick of reading or researching the process, have you?
Visa Journey is absolutely full of threads by people who were DQd for Islamabad in early 2020, and have yet to receive an interview. That embassy is also very well known for its extended administrative processes after interviews, as a result of poor recordkeeping/no centralized criminal records.
Do some research, please. The entire US immigration process is much more complex and time-consuming than you seem to realize. Good luck.

the DQ, yes so i am to wait for DQ confirmation email first. I submitted in Dec 2021, on average how long do they take? any idea.. interview depends on queue at consulate i guess.
So if 2 yrs go by in the process, i dont have to re-apply everything? that's a relief ! i think it was at USCIS(i130) stage where the 2 yrs lapse crushes the case? right? what is the worst tht can happen at NVC stage? like if they dont issue visa, they may ask for material to be convinced its legit marriage right? they cant just outright trash our case to a point where one has to re-apply from begining i-130 at USCIS level .. can that happen? sorry if my Q's annoy u, i like to know the worst case scenario n best case scenario to plan things.
She is definately getting the IR1 status since 2 yrs anniversary is month away..
is there downside to IR1 status n green card 10 yr? as oppose to permanent one? sounds like downgraded version of greencard for no fault of our own. strange..

Most interviews confirm a decision the Consular Officer has already been leaning towards based on completely reviewing the file. If the file shows only one visit in a high fraud country, expect them to be leaning against visa issuance. If you can add evidence of a second visit to the file, or she can carry it with her, it can make a huge difference. I get how your brain works. It's logical but you've also reached what I refer to as "convenient" conclusions. If you do the actual homework before answering the "exam questions" (forming your conclusions) you'll reach different ones and probably act accordingly.
You sending her money is not evidence of a bona fide relationship. I would leave that out.
Of course you can show examples of how and how frequently you communicate. Take example screen shots and print them. You can even upload them at the NVC stage, or include them in your initial filing, and update them at NVC stage.

Once you get a case number and instruction package, the local embassy give a list of approved hospitals for the exam. Vaccines are also required.
-
DoodBoy reacted to Troy B in I-864 Financial Documents (transcript or tax return)
If by medical checkup, you are referring to the one that is required before she gets the visa. That has to be done by an approved doctor, and note the visa (if approved) is only valid for (at most) 6 months from the date of medical. And it's not accredited hospitals, it's individual doctors. for brazil there are 4 doctors spread somewhat across the country
The only 1 year deadline i am aware of is if say, start in the NVC paperwork today Oct 18, 2021, then decided to wait until Oct 20, 2022 to finish it.
You would need to contact the NVC to let them know you were still working on it before the 365 days passed.

Some suggestions you might want to consider, based on what we sent/uploaded as evidence of a bona fide marriage relationship, for our successful spousal visa process:
1. With the initial I-130 petition (front-loading):
a) original boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, and a few photos from four visits spending time together in-person
b) a few photos from the wedding, with spouse's family and friends (we got married on the 4th visit), and a few honeymoon photos
c) documents showing the foreign spouse as a beneficiary on the US citizen's health insurance, life insurance, bank accounts, and retirement/investment accounts
d) credit card account statements showing the foreign spouse as an authorized user
e) foreign spouse listed as emergency contact at US citizen spouse's work
f) representative messages sent/received via WhatsApp and Messenger, email log showing messages sent/received, Facebook friendship history, phone and video call logs
2. Uploaded at the NVC stage (side-loading):
a) original boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, and a few photos from four additional visits (since filing I-130) spending more time together in-person
b) IRS tax return from previous year, married filing jointly, with W-7 and all W2s and schedules
c) wills, living wills, powers of attorney
d) Christmas cards received in the mail, addressed to both of us as a married couple
3. Took to the visa interview (we both attended and answered questions):
a) original boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, and a few photos from our two-week trip together to Europe two months prior to the visa interview
Front-loading of evidence (with the I-130) and side-loading at the NVC stage are good to do as often the interviewing officer at the consulate/embassy has already made a preliminary decision whether to approve the visa or not prior to doing the interview. For Pakistan, this is even more important.
Good luck!

You need to keep collecting additional relationship evidence from 10 months ago to the day your interview is scheduled, which could be a year from now.
The CO at the embassy will want to see that you have maintained your relationship.
You can help your wife fill out the DS-260, but she should be telling you what to enter since the DS-260 is about her life and history. At least, she should review each section. The CO will ask her about some of the information you guys put in there.
The CO will usually ask questions about you and her and about your marriage. How did you meet, where and when did you get married, what does your husband do, etc.

DoodBoy reacted to arken in CR1 Visa 10th month in NVC case# alloted
For pakistan, people who have completed NVC steps 1 year ago are getting interviews now, so expect that way for now.
Civil n financial documents are required for NVC completion but you need to gather evidences of continuous marital relationship for the interview. In other words, COs may ask for other evidences of bonafide relationship as well apart from what was submitted with i130. So i suggest you keep gathering bonafide marriage evidences from the time i130 was filed. You can even upload those documents to NVC portal so COs can see them beforehand and have your spouse bring them to the interview.

i have similar issue being from PK.. I spent less than a week together with wife & had to return to usa to join my work. Went to visit for cousin marriage and found me girl in wedding spoke to alders n within week we got married. It's semi-arrange marriage culture in PK it is quire prevelant in traditional-middle class families but our hope rests on americans how well they are aware of these norms. Because American citizens usually go on vacation n within 10-15 days; find girl n with help of elders get the marriage going. It's so fastpace n about respect n commitment with elders being behind providing support.
I hope they USCIS n NVC team are aware of these cultural norms of diff countries before judging based on american view of life where people date for yrs and then decide to commit.

ahh everyones family & friends here. Advice is advice. We have to use our judgement after receiving advice. I'm grateful to all volunteeringly assisting us in uniting our loved ones. Some advice sounds harsh? but its useful, we have blindspots. We only see things from our angle, its wise to seek honest feedback from those who've seen hundreds/thousands of cases.
Yes quality of evidence matters. But circumstances (should) also matter. I mean like in my case i had to return to work (US) within days of marriage. I had no choice, then best thing i had is communication. The whatsapp msgs matter, because that is my only way of communication with her. What else could i have done to prove bona-fide @ managing a distance relationship, while world is locked in pandemic..
I also did some creative way to connect dots for officers.
ie: i sent several money transfers to wife for her maintenance over the months via personal bank account. I provided payment history from money transfer site showing payments. I took screenshot of my bank statement of 2 random months and circled the amount/bank account/ and matching it to receipt of money transfer. Note some of my whatsapp msgs contained money transfer #'s & amount which i picked, they can cross check those too. Further more i wrote, each every money receipt/bank statement can be supplied upon request. Also took screenshots of my board pass/ and entry/exit on one page. Letter of approval from HR for my limited vacation time approval. Any evidence that can explain WHY you had such n such circumstance will help remove any doubts or suspicion. Lets be devils advocate & think from their angle as well. Imagine if you were Officer reviewing your case. What red-flags would come to your mind? then look see how you can mitigate those risks w/ evidence.
