Hello,

I have been there and done that. Have gone through and felt every thing that everybody else has voiced here. We have been on AP since Sep. 20th.......It is horrible not knowing what is around the corner.....Not knowing When you will see him/her again......It has been close to 2 years for me and my Husband.....April 20 will be 2 years since we have been married.....May 8th 2006 was the last time I touched my Husband.......What makes this Journey so hard is that there are so many ups and downs....You get your approvels and then the wait for the interview.....Then you get the interview date only to wind up on AP.....Then during the AP process your left in the dark .......However when we got the E-mail for him to return to the Embassy On March 5th Ohhhh Let me tell you .......The excitement was intense I could not compose myself.....I was so happy and relived.....Was so happy for about 4 days.....Now I have started worring again........Even though Im confident that he will be given a visa this time....Or asked to return to pick up his visa the following week, Im Extremly nervous and I guess you could say cautious........To the point Im making myself sick with stress headaches.....WIth this journey you cant count on anything until you get that visa in your hands.....We have a week to go.....March 5th is right around the corner.....I am praying by march 13 my Husband will be here with me....The count down is on....Ohhhh Im holding my breath......will keep you posted on how it goes march 5th

Thank you for the information.....From your answers I can see that it still may not be over.....I do know that we have already been through 2 security checks.....This last one they did was the one that takes the longest time.....3 to 4 month to finish and that is how long it took......4 months.....They will not tell me it is for him to pick up his visa......Only that the AP process is done....I would think if the AP is done then would'ent all the checks be done?? My understanding is that it what AP is all about........So why call him back to the embassy just to tell him another check needs to be done???? I guess we will find out......March 5th is the day.......

Hi everyone.

My Husband is from Nigeria however he did spend 4 years in Libya......We had been put on AD since Sep of 2007 now they emaild us and said they are done with the AD and are requesting him back at the embassy on March 5th .....Im wondering??? Will he really get his Visa on that day?? or will they tell him they need more investagation??? Will he be able to travel on March 6th???? Hope some one out there can help calm my nerves.......I want to say im sorry if anyone reads this and thinks Im just being stupid but I cant help how Im feeling and if someone has had the same thing happen I would like to hear from them....Thank you so much .....

Just a question........I was so excited when we got the news my Husband has been invited back to the Embassy on March 5th.........what happens next?? I am thinking he goes back to get his visa but for some reason Im thinking its not that simple....Im wondering if the are requesting him back for more info or are they really going to give him His Visa??? We had been on AP since sep of last year.....They are now done and the case is completed and they have requested him back to the Embassy.....What do you think?????

I want to thank everybody for their kind words and wonderful thoughts......I have been in a state of complete happiness and disbelief...... I am so thankful for many things but I have to give the greatest thanks to our Creator Jehovah God......All praise and thanks go to him for giving me the strength and courge to make it this far....Once again I been taught to be pateient and rely on him..Things will happen in his time and serve his purpose......Which in the end is what turns out to be the best for us.....He is a loving Father and Hearer of Prayers And gives to us what we need when we need it the most.......Once again Thanks everybody and I will keep you posted on March 5th.....That is when he goes back......Bye for now ......

Hello everybody!!!!!!!!!

My Journey is over. Got an e-mail today asking my husband to return to the embassy on March 5 at 7 am...

Im still shaking and Cant belive it.....He is comming home....Im not going to relax until he gets the visa in his hand.....Am I dreaming???? I cant belive its happening......I am so numb right now.......I want to thank everyone for their support and I will always keep you up to date on everything........so now the wait is on march 5th ....you know I will be asking for that day off....LOL LOL .......Ok now Im going to go dancing in the street.....LOL LOL Anyone want to join me????

As you know I have been in Ap for some months now......I called the Office today to find out any new information on the information request they put if for me on Friday.......They told me today that the security check is being completed/concluded and will be sent to Lagos soon......I am so numb right now.....I dont know what to think or do??? Should I be excited or am I in for another Heartache???? I dont know if once it is returned to Lagos will there be somthing else they have to do??? Or will this be the end??? Im going crazy........

good to hear from you.....If you can you should try comming out here to California.....It is not bad here at all.....They just about accept anything.....I know when my husband does get here we might get a few looks here and there but nothing like where you are at.....Just stand by his side and always be there for him......Which I know you are......I myself in the past was wondering how to explaine things like that to my husband when he gets here......I just plan to wait until the right time presents itself and answer any of his questions with honesty....Anyway Ara??? Can you tell us more about how your so is Adjusting to things here??? would like to know more......Take care....

How great is that......He gives out 30 scholarships each year to local children in Nigeria.......He will also be playing in the pro bowl and after that he is going to return to Nigeria were we will be welcomed as a prince and a chief.....However he would be rather knowen simply as a Brit, An African, and a southerner, The havoc wreaker who comes at you from everywhere......!!!!!!!! I am really enjoying keeping up with this thread......It is always intresting to hear all the different stories...and experiences......I would also like to thank everybody with their kind words.....It is always uplifting when others are there to encourge you ...I hope we can keep this up......Everyone take care until next time......

My experience with what used to be Nigerian friend was an experience I dont wish on anyone.....This so called friend of mine was going to Nigeria to visit family so she went and checked out my So before we were even married....When she got back to the states she told me that If I did not marry him she would.......9 months later she took me back to Nigeira to meet my so....I thought wow what a true friend ........Well as it turns out she had decided she wanted this man for herself and thought that when I showed up there being a plus size that he would change his mind about me.......well when that did not work.......She tryed to find ways to get his attention....at one point while I was in the hotel room my Husband had went out to get me some food and she had to go back to the airport to pick up some lost bags.....Their paths crossed when she saw him got all excited and ran jumping on his back. Like a girlfriend would a boyfriend......The night before the wedding she kept me up all night telling me how he was only marrying me to come to the states and that he really did not love me and in fact he was embarrassed by me due to my size.......she drilled this into my head that whole night.....Talked me out of attending my own cermony......The mor. he came to pick me I did tell him Im not going to go and that it was over between us......After maybe less then 3 min. I changed my mind and decided I needed to go with him.....That is where I belonged......I am so happy I made that decision.....When I got there to the cermony I was with out my so called friend......She had left me to go her own way and I was there with a man I had only met in person 2 days before.....We had the cermony and everything went well.....About 200 hundred people showed up.....then our last night there we had no choice but to spend the night with this so called friend at her sisters house......Well that last night we had no room to sleep in.....She made us sleep on the floor in the front room with no blanket or pillow.......There is more to the story but I have already taken up to much time........LOL LOL .......Lets just say LOVE did win this time.......I am wondering what will happen when he does get here??? How will others react to us??? Time will tell......YOu know you dont pick who you fall in love with....It just happens......

I called the NVC office today and they decided to put in a inquirey to the security office early.....They were going to do it on the 18th of feb but they went a head and did it today Feb 1st......I was told to call back next friday to see where the case might be.....She told me that when they put in the request that they security office will look at the case and if it can be completed in the week they will do so and send it to Lagos......So now Im waiting.....Trying to keep my feet on the ground and not get to excited....... Dont want to set myself up for Heartache.........We will see......

Just a small Update on my visa Journey.....

As you know I am stuck in AP.....My case was sent back to Washington for a security check......Called the office today and was told that we are still waiting for the Check.....Was informed that after a 120 days of being in AP we can put in a request to the Security office to find out what the hold up is......She also told me that once they do that (Put in for an Inquirey) about a week later the check is complete and forwarded back to Lagos......Feb. 18 is the day I can put in a request......Im hoping for the best......I Know this is a little thing to most but for me it is a bright light shining through such a big black and ugly dark hole...... Im tryng very hard to keep my feet on the ground and not get to excited but at lest it is something......Now the wait to get to Feb 18th..........

..When I call the National Visa Center in Washington I get different stories all the time....Saying all we are waiting for is a security check, At other times Im told it may not be just security checks, I was wanting to confirm with them in Lagos that all we were waiting on is a security check......Im thinking to its better that it is here in Washington then in Lagos where it would just be sitting on someones desk.....I feel like here there is a better chance of it getting done sooner......I understand all about the security checks and how long they can take....However when I get told different stories I dont know what to belive.....To add to that I also know some that have been told they are in security checks and through their congressmen and others came to find out that they had never been put in security checks.......So yes I am very confussed at times about what is going and why......Im sorry if my posting is a bother to some. Im only trying to get as much information and encourgement as I can.........

I would like to get some opinion on weather or not this is a good sign????

However In your email I did not get any clear answers to my questions....I know and have knowen that we are in Adminastrative processing I understand that is were we still are....My Questions have still gone unanswered and have left me in a state of confussion....The information that I recieve from the Washington DC National Visa Center is as Follows.......

Our case LGSxxxxxxxxxxxx For Joshua xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is in Adimastrative processing due to a pending security check.....this security check can take up to 3 to 4 months to complete ..Once this check is complete the results will be forwarded to the Lagos Embassey and at that time if the check comes back clean then he will be contacted and given instructions on when to come back to the Embassy to pick up his Visa.......

My question is this....Have I been given the right Information??? Is it a pending security check that we are waiting on??? Or is there more things involved???

Well I wrote Lagos again.....Can you belive I wrote them last night and woke up to a response this mor???? I was shocked!!!! Anyway Included Is the letter I wrote to them and then their response.....I would like to know what you think??? As I am driving myself crazy thinking it will be forever before I see my husband again. Its been a while since I posted last.....Here we are in Jan of 2008 My husband and I are still in AP.....Called the office friday and was told, Its a little to soon right now but at the end of Jan or Beginning of Feb they can put in a request for an inquiry to see if they can get our case finished.....Or at lest what the hold up is.....We'll see.......Keping my fingers crossed.....

HI. Its me!!!!!

This is a binder that you will put together to help prove your relationship with your husband. In this binder you will want to include....

1. Emails and chat logs starting from the first of your relationship and after the marrige

2. Phone records. Before and after the marrige..

3. Lettes/cards sent through the mail with the envelopes with the post mark on them

4. Pictures before-during & After the marrige

5. Anything else you might have to help prove the marrige is real......

The one thing they asked and kept from my Husband was the Emails....They kept 2 of them.....
