354 days without the case moving an inch (SRC). Getting ready to file N400 in a week!

We received our 48-month letter today. Texas Service Center, case was received Dec 30, 2022. 

I just got yesterday my extension letter for 48 months after getting the 24 months one back in December 2022

Seems that there is a SRC case filed in December 2022 that just got approved today!

SRC filer here, Nov. 2021. We received the 48 month extension 2 weeks ago. 

Any SRC filers got their 48 month extensions yet?

I'd be curious to know if they filed N-400 and both got approved. Unfortunately, I think that is likely and doesn't really mean anything for SRC filers in general.

Seems that effective today they'll extend everyone's GCs for 48 months, and this announcement seems to imply they'll send new NOAs to everyone who is waiting:

Hi all, two years later we are back here! Got our conditional GC on March 2021 - expiring March 2023 so just filed for ROC.
Timeline so far:
- Dec 19: Mailed packet, this is exactly 3 months before the expiration date for the GC
- Dec 27: Got USCIS text message with receipt number (SRC - Texas I assume?). Online tracking indicates that Form was received on Dec 21.
- Dec 30: USPS informed delivery shows a USCIS letter "arriving soon" at my address, I assume it is the NOA

Yeah I just took it with zero side effects.

I was in the same situation: had chickenpox as a child but no paperwork to prove it. Surgeon told me he believed me but that it was his signature on the line so I'd either get the vaccine or the antibody test. I got the vaccine on the spot because it was faster/cheaper.

If employer is filing the I-140 for free, you might as well let them. It won't delay your I-130/I-485 case.

Better make sure that the employer is willing to pay for the I-140 since they encourage you to do the family route and get a private attorney.
 
They are not required to pay for your I-140/I-485, just the PERM.

If your priority date is current for the I-140 employment-based category, then the attorney can submit an interfile request to USCIS, which means the I-485 will be considered to be based on the I-140 instead of the I-130. This doesn't invalidate the I-130. However, if you later want to "switch" back to the I-130, you cannot interfile a second time, you have to file a new I-485.
