Toby & Becky reacted to Morgan5698 in NEW <72hr COVID Testing
It was super easy for us. We arrived at 5:30 an hour before we booked, hardly anyone there and we were in test done and out within ten mins. We went and got A coffee at the nearby Cafe Nero and got our results before we even had a first sip - 10 mins no more. Negative thankfully! We went back and picked up the printout however we did notice they made an error on the date of the test as it said the following day, which would have invalidated it as it stated a test taken after we would have travelled, so check all the details match up. No sooner did we go to leave when suddenly the lack of queue turned into a long queue, so I think it’####### and miss to how busy it is.
departing the next day, prepare to keep your results print out handy. We showed it to at least 4 people, it held up plane a bit but wasn’t too difficult.
departing plane at LAX we had to show the print out again to a few people as you step off, this slowed things down a bit. Then had to show it again to immigration. Once that was done everything was fine and we were out. All in all not a bad experience all things considered! Just be prepared to show that negative print out over and over again so keep it handy! Good luck!

    Hey guys,
With the long awaited expected interview dates this month that is still not here, it's easy to want to give up hope. We've come too far, so we have to continue to be hopeful and hold on to a glimmer of trust that it'll be over sooner than later. There's still one more day left of this week where we could get lucky! Come on LND Embassy.... Get a move on!!! Good luck y'all 🤞🏾🙏🏾

    Hi
My interview is on the 16th of Nov and my medical is the 8th.
I just spoke with the medical clinic and they told me they have had word from the Embassy that they are staying open and continuing with interview as 'normal'!

There was a meeting yesterday (Monday Nov 2nd) and they decided to stay open.
Obviously this could change but I thought you guys would like to know.
I was extremely happy to find this out.

Yehaa... Approved this morning!! . All in all a very smooth process. 15min in total.
On a side note, a chap in front of me waiting to get into the embassy was not allowed in as he had traveled abroad in the last 14 days. He had to reschedule.

Good luck to all you guys!

Looks like we going into another national lockdown from Wednesday next week. Not sure what this may or may not mean for the embassy staying open or not. All very worrying.

    Yes
Where does it ask that? The 9 "yes" or "no" questions are:
Do you have a physical or mental disorder; or are you a drug abuser or addict; or do you currently have any of the following diseases (communicable diseases are specified pursuant to section 361(b) of the Public Health Service Act): Cholera, Diphtheria, Tuberculosis infectious, Plague, Smallpox, Yellow Fever, Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers, including Ebola, Lassa, Marburg, Crimean-Congo, Severe acute respiratory illnesses capable of transmission to other persons and likely to cause mortality. Have you ever been arrested or convicted for a crime that resulted in serious damage to property, or serious harm to another person or government authority? Have you ever violated any law related to possessing, using, or distributing illegal drugs? Do you seek to engage in or have you ever engaged in terrorist activities, espionage, sabotage, or genocide? Have you ever committed fraud or misrepresented yourself or others to obtain, or assist others to obtain, a visa or entry into the United States? Are you currently seeking employment in the United States or were you previously employed in the United States without prior permission from the U.S. government? Have you ever been denied a U.S. visa you applied for with your current or previous passport, or have you ever been refused admission to the United States or withdrawn your application for admission at a U.S. port of entry? Have you ever stayed in the United States longer than the admission period granted to you by the U.S. government? Have you traveled to, or been present in Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011?

It doesn’t ask if he is trying to immigrate.

    From the CBP
What should a traveler do if the information in his or her passport has changed?
If a traveler’s passport information changes, the individual is required to apply for a new travel authorization through ESTA. A new travel authorization is required if (1) the traveler is issued a new passport; (2) the traveler changes his or her name; (3) the traveler changes his or her gender; (4) the traveler’s country of citizenship changes; or (5) the circumstances underlying the traveler’s previous responses to any of the ESTA application questions requiring a “yes” or “no” response have changed. The associated fee will be charged for each new application submitted

This mainly applies to expedited and DCF cases although most of the recent interviews have appeared to be booked by the petitioner. Not sure if that has changed. It would be good if a non-expedited and DCF case could chip in to be sure. I'm guessing a lot of things have changed due to the pandemic.

The NVC assigns appointment dates for IR1/CR1after you are DQ. With embassy closures and delays, there is a backlog of 4-5 months before they will get around to assigning an appointment.

If you get expedited from the NVC, then they just send your file on to London without an appointment. You may or may not even be DQed.  When the file arrives and London gets you set up, then you log into the appointment calendar and pick a date. There’s not always anything left on the calendar. October has been “sold out” for awhile. November just opened today or yesterday. There is no schedule really, it just happens.

If you are IR1/CR1 (DCF), then that means the American has been living in the U.K.  They got to file the petition at the USCIS office in London and then move straight to the embassy, skipping the NVC. Thus, they also choose a date off the interview calendar and they take all their documents (that you uploaded to NVC) to their interview. DCF ended during the summer when the USCIS office  in London shut down permanently (forever). The last of that group got her interview picked today when some appointments showed up. She’s been checking over and over and not finding anything until today.

I DQ'd on July 1st. I received an email last week on Wednesday (forget the date - Oct 7th maybe?) for an interview date on Nov 17th (non expedite)

I actually got a bit lucky because I have trawled through everyone else's dates and found an average time of 5 months for non-expedited cases from DQ date to interview date, often to the exact date. A few people got a week earlier or later than that but bang on 5 months was the most common time frame.

I am the only July DQ I have seen to be included in this batch, and all the other July DQs will probably hear in early Nov for a Dec. interview, and August DQ's will likely get a Jan interview. Of course, this could speed up or slow down at any point. Good luck, and I hope you all hear sooner rather than later!

They schedule about 6 weeks ahead, so don't get your hopes up for a 2020 interview as chances are still slim.

I'm wishfully hoping It would be before Christmas but not banking on it.  Just wondering roughly how long others in my category have waited to hear about interviews and if things are moving any quicker due to not as many visa's being issued, due to the ban?  Feel so bad for those that can't even travel right now.  Thanks for your response though!

Is anyone else concerned that the recent increase in Covid-19 infections and rumblings about a new London lockdown being likely will spook the embassy and cause them to just shut down completely again?

I DQ'd on July 1st and am keeping my fingers crossed to hear something on Thursday (hoping I just squeeze into this group!), so I am really hoping they keep processing spouse visas at least!
