Yea but they better make sure they ain't no trace of weed in his blood or else that's a lie and if you lie to them .. that's where it all gose side ways .. so if they are traces of marijuana in his system just tell them you tried it once couple months ago or something like that

True true. Let me clear it up from now, I’m not telling anyone to go say no. It is a risk to say no and end up having it in your system. Which is why I say get drug tested before hand so you already know what’s up. I literally called a Clinic in Kingston to get my husband one when I thought the at home drug kits I bought was not going to come in time. The lady said it was like 3-4 grand for it. We end up not doing it still.

But to answer the person question from earlier, my husband said no. I told him if the doctor ask if he smokes, to say no. If the doctor ask you have you ever smoked before, say “I tried it once before but nothing that became apart of my life style”. That’s what I told him to say. Luckily the doctor just ask him if he smokes and that’s it.

Hey there is a medical form you fill out before hand and it ask separately if you smoke marijuana and if you smoke tobacco. We put no for smoking marijuana. When asked at the doctors office if he smokes he said no.

Basically say no, always say no to drugs like Unknown seh. There are clinics that do drug test. Let him go get one done to make sure he’s clean before going in. That way you fully confident when medical time comes around.

Thank you for sharing this story. I’m in a similar situation where my fiancé is currently detoxing. I also didn’t realize he would be tested for weed until the day we were finally able to schedule his interview and move forward with scheduling the medical and I began to learn about it. Smh, almost tragically too late. But in time for me to cancel his appointment so we can reschedule when he’s clean.

he stopped smoking only about 8 days ago but earlier this week he went to his doctor and told him wah gwan, so his doc gave him a water pill and multivitamin to cleanse. His doc also scheduled him for a practice drug test in a couple weeks so we can see if it’s worked. If so we will move forward trying to reschedule his interview and medical right away!

my question for you is: did they ask your hubby “have you EVER smoked before?” And if so, what did he say??

at this point I’m confident he will test negative when he goes in but that question is really looming over me.

ive heard lots of things: ALWAYS be honest (which can result in a ban), and NEVER admit to marijuana use (which can have more severe repercussions if they decide that’s a lie) ... but you got through it! So what did he say?

congrats btw I’m so happy he passed and gets to join you here soon! Blessings!

Can someone tell me how long they wait for their visa to issue?

His said administrative processing the day of his interview after his approval, Dec 2nd.

It switched to “issued” by the next day which was Dec 3rd. He got an email by Monday, Dec 7, that it was ready for pick up.

No problem hun, listen hit me up if you have any questions. This was the biggest hurdle for us and we were able to get over it, I’m happy to share anything I know, or used to help you guys over this hurdle as well. 💪🏾

Yes swan c this is one of the hardest situation i had to deal with besides losing a love one..i think it showed up in his bloodstream..he said he stop smoking in August of 2019 so idk..am out of words right now..congratulations ms.canty..

Sorry this is about to be long.

Okay hun so here are some factors I had to consider when approaching the medical with my hubby.

My husband was smoking straight up until we got the email that he got his interview date. Smh I didn’t even think about the medical having a drug test ( 🤦🏽‍♀️). So now I was in panic mode because I knew he only had about 45 days before he had to do his medical.

So for a chronic smoker (like smoking every day or several times a day - like my hubby was doing). It was very important that he stopped smoking AT LEAST 30-45 days from his medical to give him a chance at passing. He’s a pretty skinny dude so he could get away with that time frame. But if he had more fat on him he would need 60-90 days at least because THC sticks to your fat cells. He was doing lots of physical activity to sweat and burn off any fat which would get rid of the thc and transfer it to his kidneys which is why then he needed to drink lots of water/ water with lime/ cranberry juice/ coconut water - all those things was helping to really flush his system.  So that wa s important for him to get rid of all that built up THC that a urine or hair follicle test would pick up. Now all he had to do was not smoke at all and he wouldn’t add any new thc into his body that a urine/blood/ saliva test would pick up. He messed up like 15 days out from our medical and smoked. So it’s like he reset his clock. Luckily our medical was pushed another two weeks for some personal reasons so it gave him some more time to detox. He barely was taking any of the detox pills I sent for him ( 🙄🙄). But I knew he was not smoking, he was still hanging out with people who smoked, but not everyday, he started to keep to himself after a while. He was working on his farm so he was sweating a lot, he was drinking tons of water and getting adequate rest. All things important for detoxing drugs out your system.

Come medical day he just went in with a prayer that he had gotten it out of his system enough that the test won’t detect it. Because they can find THC in your blood or urine but it has to pass a specific threshold mark for it to be alerted that you have drugs in your system and you failed the test. So once your levels are low enough you good.

I was praying when he went to his interview last week that they didn’t say he failed his medical. But we were approved so that means he passed. He is on his way to pick up his visa right now.

** Something to note: Now for a chronic smoker  THC can be detected in the hair follicle the longest ( like 90 days ). Urine is about 30 days, blood a 2-3 days and just hours for a one time smoker. Saliva is the easiest to pass because it doesn’t stay in the saliva but for a few hours. (And this is time frames after there last smoke, so if a chronic smoker smoked his last spliff 90 days ago a hair follicle test can still pick it up, and so on for the rest of the test and time frames)

So I knew if he could just stay clean for about 30-45 days and get all that built up THC out his system he would be good. If you just stop smoking and do nothing else (like taking detox pills and those extra measures) and let the built up THC leave your body naturally it can take like 60-90 days for you to possibly pass a drug test. I only know all of this stuff because I have to administer drug test for employers at the clinic I worked at.

    But yea thats my story.

Tell hubby to keep his head up, to continue refraining from smoking. Keep to himself if he has to. You can send him some at home drug kits (amazon has them for a couple bucks) that way he can know he’s negative. So when they pop up and do random drug Test he’s in the clear. I pray y’all stay strong through this.

Random negative drug testing until September 2021..then he will get another interview once good he can get his visa re- issue.

Sorry to hear that hun, I’ll be praying for you guys, the wait was already hard and then to be hit with this. Jah jah. That was one of my biggest concerns going in as well. He stopped smoking only like a month and a half before the medical and I had to send down a whole bunch of detox stuff for him including some at home test kits. Straight up until the day of the medical the test kits weren’t reading positive confidently. So I was super concerned he didn’t pass the medical. Smh that’s a really tough one hun. So sorry for real man smh 😔😔😔. Praying God give y’all strength to go through this hurdle 💪🏾

While I was waiting in line outside I notice they took picks from everyone in the line except for me .. they did even take my ds260 conformation page the only thing was taken from me was my original interview letter and the reschedule one and was staple together along with my passport .. the lady type my name in the tablet she had in her hand and told me to keep my belongings.. when I finally entered the building I got a paper with a number and was instructed to sit and wait for my name inside while others was waiting outside to me it was weird but I did as instructed.. after about 5 minutes  of waiting I heard my name I went to the window where I was ask for my police record original only my marriage and birth certificates.. I was also ask who was filing for me and what's her name .at that same window I did finger prints and then was instructed to sit and wait again.. while waiting there was a woman and her daughter interviewing rite infront me  i could hear everything.   I sat there for about 15 minutes from the starting to the finish of the lady and her daughter interview .. Then I heard the guard call my name sending me in a single room for my self I was wondering what was happening since everyone was at the windows interviewing but I kept calm I swore and took fingerprints again then the lady started asking the questions

    Who is filing

What's my wife's name how long have we known each other ..when last did I see my wife told her Sunday because my wife just left ... she ask how often she comes to see ..

Then she ask where do I plan on working in the U.S. when in answered she told me that's a good job and I should do it then she continued

What job dose my wife do and her job position

She ask me how do we communicate Dailey I said (whatsapp instagram )

She ask to tell her about how we met and when did the relationship got serious

She then went on to ask if I ever travel before have I ever been arrested or convicted then she ask  if we had kids together .. if i have a child and if my wife had a child i told her yes she asked his age i  was answering questions before they ask she didnt even get to ask his name .. then she asked who asked to get married I told her it was me then she ask me to tell her bout the wedding who was there and how many people were there ... after all that she ask to see wedding pictures  I took out my photos .And she skiped through about 6 out of the many I had and stop and ask who was the kid in the wedding picture I told her then she said congrats she had everything she wanted and I was approved😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏 gave me the domestic violence manual and told me to have a safe travel ... she kept my passport and told me to look out for carrier service to contact me when it's ready for pick up .. I was out of the building by 8:00 🕺🕺🙏🙏

It was alot of questions for me .. but the CO was very nice 💞👍

NOTE: nothing absolutely nothing was taken from me no transcript no biography page  no nothing only the original certificates and they were given back once I got approved

Good luck to everyone that has pending interviews I hope y'all can learn something from this ... a know what you going to answer... be confident and bold and also respectful  also. She tried to confuses me once with the year lol asking me if I said 2005 🤣😂😀 tricks are for kids ..  I stop her and corrected her but I was kinda confused as to what year when she did that ..😂 so I took a little second and then answer .. but other than that it was a exciting interview I'll update y'all once I get my passport back ... I am sorry for the long message.. I just like to talk in details ... Good luck guys 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤

    Hi Guys

Finally i had my interview yesterday. DQ was June 18 and first interview scheduled on Sept 18 and got rescheduled to 24 Nov at 8am.

Reached embassy at 7.30 am and completed all screening process without any issue.

Front desk gave me the token and entered the waiting room where they have collected Birth certificate, marriage certificate, PCC and Tax transcripts.

Exactly 9.00 am , the consular called me and she is more friendly and guided me with the interview process.

       -Who is filing for you?

       -What is her name?

-When was the last time you spoke?

-What state does your wife reside in, and with who?

       -How often you visited?

-When was the last time you saw each other?

-Was there a reason you guys haven't seen since then?

       -Questions about employment/position?

-Have you ever traveled out of the country?

       -Have you ever been convicted?

       -How big was your wedding?

-Was your medical completed, and when?

She was trying to pull other documents from the system and asked me to wait for few minutes.

She took my visitor visa page and stamped it as cancelled.

After few minutes, she said your interview went well and you are good to go now and everything is ok. we will process your visa.

Gave back the Birth certificate, marriage certificate and domestic violation paper and kept the passport with her.

She mentioned You will get an email about the courier details for the passport/Visa. Wished for safe travel and advised to stay safe in US.

No other documents asked and it was quite productive discussion and the consular made more comfortable during the entire interview process.

So, finally i have completed 11 months of waiting period. Currently, in the CEAC portal the status got changed from "Ready" to "Administrative processing". No form 221g issued or any instructions to provide more information nor did the immigration officer tells me that my visa application requires further processing. Hope everyone has gone through the same situation after the interview. I request the persons who have attended the interview to give clarity on the status update from Ready to AP.

Thank you all and thanks for your guidance. I hope i will get my visa back very soon.

All the Best for those waiting for their interview.

    Congratulations !!!

    Good Afternoon,

Bare with me and the long update.  My husband got approved, as his interview was this morning.  They said 7-10 business days until his VISA will be ready for pick up, but I checked online and it says it has already printed and will be available soon for pick up.

The appointment was scheduled for 7:30, and he arrived a few minutes before 7.  They were cleaning inside and he did have to wait outside in the line until his time.  There was a line and quite a few people waiting.  He said they split everyone into two groups, and it appeared that everyone in his group was spousal visas.  He said it was about 5 people in his group for this timeframe.  The interview was at a window as if you were ordering food.  So he could overhear other interviews, and he remembers one person did not have to swear under oath, but he did.  We are not sure why some have to and some do not.

First, he was asked some questions by a man, and then next a lot of questions by a woman.  The questions he could remember are:
How long have we been married?
If we have any children, if the baby is his
Has he traveled to the states before?
Asked about his travel in other countries they could see he had been to
How long he stayed in the sates.
She went through the photo album and asked about who people were in the pictures with us.
    How old the baby is
    Where did we meet
When did I migrate to the US -- He explained I was born in the US and studied abroad in Jamaica
How many times did we visit each other
When was the last time he saw me (if it was March) and he explained I had come for the September interview and it was canceled.
    Who is filing for him
    What is her name (mine)
If he had any issues with the law or run-ins with the police
How old he was when we met for the first time
She looked through our photo album twice and did ask him questions throughout it to see what he knew about the photos, even though he was in the pics so he was obviously there in the moments.  lol.

They took his passport and canceled his visitor VISA, said: "Everything checks out and we are able to issue you a VISA".  Told him he should get an email when his visa is ready for pick up, gave him a form about domestic violence to read, had him swear under oath with his right hand raised, and took his fingerprints.

He said he almost cried when getting the approval, one step closer to being together as a family.

Our DQ date way May 30th, our initial interview date was September 8th, and we were re-scheduled and approved today November 3rd.

If this helps any of you then I am grateful and will continue to be praying for you all!

Congratulations I am so happy for you guys finally the process is coming to close!!.🥳🥳🥳🥳
