JojoandTomas got a reaction from Dr. Brandon in MARCH 2025 - I-129F K1 Visa Filers
Hello...Welcome!
For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together.
Use the USCIS case tracker to follow your case online once you’ve received your case number:
Stay patient because this is a long process currently running 7-9 months for your NOA2 (or petition approval by USCIS first stage). Then your petition will be sent to NVC which runs about another additional 8-10 weeks processing (second stage) and finally your interview at the embassy (third stage). Also, do not compare yourself to others....Some will receive NOA-2 faster than others, some will be stuck at NVC for longer and then finally some will receive interviews fairly quickly at embassy. STAY PATIENT and don’t compare cases as each embassy/country is different!
Please be sure to create the timeline in your profile. Also note that USCIS goes by "Received date" :
Example
I-129 F Sent - January 2, 2023
I-129 F Received - January 6, 2023 (NOA-1)
I-129 F - Notice Date - January 10, 2023
In this example your NOA-1 should be January 6. This will help you fill out your timeline properly.

JojoandTomas got a reaction from newfinacevisa in FEBRUARY 2025 K1 to NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
This will be embassy specific. The request cases as soon as they have interview dates available normally so the time it takes to reach the embassy will depend on them. There wouldn’t be a set estimate I can share
The first thing I’d advise is to fill in your profile with your fiancé s home country and also to join some of the forums more specific to your embassy because those answers will vary.
For the Dominican Republic, you can fill out your DS-160 as soon as your case is at the embassy and book an interview but I don’t know if yours will be the same so I hesitate to give you more clarity without knowing for sure.

Welcome and Congratulations on your approval!
This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy.
Your case will be forwarded from USCIS to NVC shortly (cases have been taking 30-60 days to reach NVC. Please be patient). Once your case has arrived at NVC , you will be assigned a new case number (your old USCIS case number will not give you any NVC updates).
A few helpful NVC links:
➡️ NVCResearch@state.gov ⬅️
NVC phone number is (603)334-0888
I am including this in hopes that they will reinstate the number in the future :
🚨 They are currently NOT answering queries over the phone!! ⭐️They are primarily answering all queries solely via their public contact page⭐️
🚨
NVC PUBLIC INQUIRY FORM:
If you need to submit an inquiry, change an address , request your new NVC case number or need to update your info in anyway NVC has a public inquiry form where you can submit your request as well as many other requests:
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html
Once you’ve received your NVC case number you can track your case online using the following link, until it is sent to your embassy:
https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV
Also, inside the attached PDF below are a few tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.
These are items that everyone asks for, so they have been very helpfully put together by senior VJMember Greenbaum for you to refer to when necessary. If you are new to this thread, please read these first as these are the most asked questions.
⭐️Please note, it was brought to my attention that some of the information may be outdated, but most of the helpful tips and tricks are still accurate. Regarding your packet 3, there isn’t anyone within VJ currently providing that information for each embassy so that part of the PDF may be disregarded.⭐️

NVC sends petitions to the embassy every two weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We normally have a calendar but I haven’t located one for 2025 yet.

JojoandTomas got a reaction from travelntrav in k1-FTP LETTER - Do i need to schedule at VAC at Santo Domingo embassy along with interview for K1?
1. It means exactly what it says in the message. Your payment is sent to them as a request and must be approved by them in order for them to grant you access to the embassy interview calendar
2. Correct. you cannot do the medical exam in Santo Domingo without having an interview date scheduled
3. Also correct. you will bring all of that in person with you on the date of your interview
4. Yes you do need to do a VAC appointment but they are scheduled along with the embassy appointment (which you are currently waiting for approval for from the embassy). Once you receive approval from the embassy regarding your payment, you will then schedule both the VAC and Embassy appointments together (depending on the availability of the calendar)
