ML4279 got a reaction from JojoandTomas in JUNE 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
You’re not alone unfortunately  still waiting at NVC for over a year, two years since we first applied. Hired two different lawyers, no help. Petitioned for emergency appointment due to severe emotional stress, denied. Petitioned to move case to another country’s embassy and they said they had no capacity. We don’t know what to do from here, am going to have to quit my job and move out of the US just to start my family.

Hi all, finger’s crossed we all start getting some good news soon! Does anybody have the latest shipping dates from the NVC to embassies for 2021? Thanks so much

    Some example questions would be:

-What is the name of your fiancé/e?
    -Where did you meet?
    -When did you meet?
    -How did you meet?
-When are you planning to get married?
    -What is your fiancé/es work?
-Have you gone out of the country?
-How long were you out of the country?
-How many times has your fiancé/e visited you?
-Where did you go when your fiancé/e visited you?
-Do you plan to have kids?
-Where do you plan to stay in the US?
    -Name and DOB
    -What year did you meet
    -How did you meet
-What are your fiancé parents' names
    -Your fiancé's employer and job
-Have either of you been married before
    -Other countries you've been to
    -Do you have kids together

These are some of the questions, but rest assure that all the questions will be about the petitioner, the beneficiary, and the relationship. Always tell the truth even if the truth is "I don't know". Don't rush in answering and give a straightforward answer. Look the CO in the eye when answering and smile. Don't give a novel as your answer. Just brief and concise. Don't volunteer any information unless asked, this could send you down the wrong road.

Don't forget to ask if you passed.

Got the email that our case left the NVC today and is now on its way to NZ! Maybe there’s a chance my fiancé will be here by the end of 2020 after all? Fingers crossed!

I agree in keeping expectations low since this is such a brutal and at times heart wrenching process... BUT... why would the state department put out this statement if something hadn’t changed? Seems like at least incremental progress!

@Greenbaum and @DaveAndAnastasia today we received a new case number starting with TBL for Tbilisi. Thank you both so much for your quick advice, you’ve saved our family likely another few extra months of waiting (I can’t imagine what an administrative nightmare our case being stuck in Russia would be) since we would not have thought to even think about the case number had it not been for the PDF and this forum. A million thanks!

Georgia has begun processing some visas as of July 20 but not K1 visas so fingers crossed they will begin soon.

Thank you (and thank you @Greenbaum). We contacted the NVC over the phone and they told us to send a request with a copy of her passport photo over the general inquiry page. They said because no cases are being shipped to Russia at this time it's likely they can make the change prior to the case being shipped. I hope this is true. I also sent an email to the expeditenvc email address with the same information.

Thank you both very much for flagging. I sincerely hope this does not cause further delays.

My NOA2 was June 3rd.  My case was received by NVC July 7th and processed on July 10th.   I called early morning last week and waited about 15 min.  So the documented timeline is very accurate even with COVID delays.

For those interested in regards to Embassies/Consulates:
    Information on visa services
As of July 20, 2020, the U.S. Consulate General in Auckland is resuming certain immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services, including employment, student, petition-based, and tourist non-immigrant visas, K fiancée visas, as well as IR-1/2, CR-1/2, IR3/4, SB-1, and EB-5 immigrant visas.  While the U.S. Consulate General in Auckland aims to process cases as soon as practicable, there is likely to be increased wait times for completing such services due to substantial backlogs.  The MRV fee is valid and may be used to schedule an interview appointment in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at https://www.ustraveldocs.com/nz/nz-niv-expeditedappointment.asp to request an emergency appointment.

USCIS and NVC are notorious about not sending an email notification even with a G-1145 or emailing them with an address. You may get an email and you may not. "your mileage may vary"

The MVD is strictly for Russian citizens... You can get the police certificate from any police office if she is in  🇷🇺 but if she is outside 🇷🇺 like you stated she must go through the embassy provided she is legally present in the country she is in.

Mvd - internal affairs will only tend to your case if your present in Russia.
If you not, you can the Russian embassy in the country where she is will contact MVD on her behalf and send her the consular long version of the police report

I have the P3 link here for your embassy. Now that we have solved the mail problem you can get on with preparing for the interview.

There was a thread about a year ago from those who were discussing the visa path to Georgia that you may want to read. If necessary, reach out to some of the members there and see if they can help with any specific questions. Your embassy is very lite on applicants to converse with. Good luck and stay engaged.
