Puppythecat got a reaction from Arthur & Anaiza in Saint Luke's announces mandatory COVID vaccine and RT-PCR testing
Hospitals should tell people exactly what I was told at the clinic: "It's a virus, there's not really anything we can do about it. Go home and get some rest for a few days." I'm not sure how sleeping in an uncomfortable hospital bed and eating bad hospital food is supposed to improve outcomes, other than to drive up medical bills.
There are not mandates for other vaccines in order to work at any employer with over 100 staff members, that's overreach so far beyond the reasonable it's absurd. It's no longer a pandemic, it's endemic. First it was 2 weeks to slow the spread, then 2 years to slow the spread, next you will want 20 years to slow the spread. If you want to get on with your life just do it and accept that life isn't without risk.

I was just thinking the other day that in order to let any of the illegal immigrants out of detainment they should have to first find one of the virtue signalling open-borders supporters to sign to financially support them.

Puppythecat got a reaction from Carpe Vinum in Least bad airport layover in age of Covid
Awesome, thanks! I'll be meeting her at O'hare Saturday with some warm clothes to change into and a T-mobile SIMM card
I was a bit worried because she only has a 2 hour layover in Narita.

Puppythecat got a reaction from Carpe Vinum in CFO schedule times
I sent what she asked for, just making me kind of irritated because of how close we're getting to the flight date and I've heard of people getting their CFO and receipt on the same day. She's 32, it's not as though she's too young to get married.

Puppythecat reacted to Chancy in Medical Exam for Adjustment of Status- New Rule
Note that if your K1 beneficiary completes the vaccination requirements at SLEC Manila, there will be no need for I-693 if the I-485 is filed within 1 year of the visa medical. The K1 medical will never expire if the immigrant meets the requirement for I-485 filing within 1-year.

Puppythecat got a reaction from Talako in What forms should we fill out if my fiance wants to leave temporary after adjusting status?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but marrying this month instead of February means you'll be able to file jointly for the 2021 tax year which could give you a big discount on your taxes when you file. Would be a nice belated wedding gift from Uncle Sam. 🙂

She finally got a telecounseling session for December 10th. Hopefully she gets the certificate after that and the councilor doesn't sit on it for more than a week.

Did she get the "Submission of Required Documents prior to Tele-counseling" e-mail and reply with the copy of the visa and both your passports and then any follow-up documents the counselor may request? My wife got her appointment within 24 hours after we sent all the documents. What I have heard from others recently is that 'generally' (but not always) they respond to actual visa holders in a more or less reasonably timely manner. Though of course they have exceptions. It's those who don't actually have visas yet or who are trying to get a CFO just to visit a foreign partner that are often getting strung along for extended periods of time. It may be prudent just to confirm that she hasn't got misidentified into the wrong group of CFO applicants and that she has sent the requested documents. Maybe give it another week, but if you start getting down to the wire you might want to resend the copies of passports and visa plus include a copy of the plane ticket and a catchy subject line like **URGENT**, K1 Visa holder with airline ticket departing for USA December 18, or something like that. I've heard plenty of stories of CFO counselors dragging it out to the last moment but it seems like they mostly come through if they have a hard deadline.
In the end my wife and stepdaughter weren't asked for it at all departing Clark a month ago. But that could hardly be counted on as a plan.

They've always wanted that, it's only now they finally have an excuse that people let them get away with.

I always find it amusing that people think waiting 90 days alters the intent a person had when entering the US.......

Puppythecat got a reaction from assila in CR1 income requirements
It doesn't sound like either of them is going with a lot of resources judging by how they're asking donations for a plane ticket. Unless she's from the bayou in Louisiana she can't possibly have any clue what she's getting into. Have your friend explain the dipper to her. It's a shame there's no CFO Seminar type thing for Americans going to the Philippines 🤣

First, ask your friend to join VJ.))
Second...why are you pondering their future? I assume it is their lives to live in these interesting, er..., times. With them living in the Philippines, at least the cost of living would be significantly less.
He's 24 and she's 19. I remember me back then. I got jealous when my girlfriend thought Arnold Schwarzenegger was hot in some movie we went to watch. Too much hormones and too much blood down there and not enough up there. As long as your friend is a good guy and hopefully she's the same they will have their fun and maybe will make a life together or will be a fond memory of each other after the year.
If they do try to immigrate, then I-130, AOS + IV (I-864 and DS-260), Interview, and GC. And about $1500 in fees plus moving expenses (flight, etc.) More if the fees go up when they decide to immigrate.

https://rapidvisa.com/income-requirements-for-fiance-k1-and-spousal-cr1-visas
"As noted previously, the annual gross income of K-1 fiancé visa sponsors must be equal to or greater than 100% of the federal poverty guidelines. For individuals seeking to secure CR1 spousal visas or adjust their status to lawful permanent residency (green card), that threshold increases to 125%."
If I'm reading this correctly it means for her to get a CR1 she would need to return to the USA and make >$21,775 (more for Alaska or Hawaii) in a year in order to apply for CR1 visa.
Then there's the shock of a 19 year old American girl suddenly living in the Philippines for a year (during COVID insanity). 🤣

Puppythecat reacted to Chancy in Utah County Proxy (Zoom) wedding
He can't file the I-130 petition until after they've been physically together again after the Zoom wedding. He must include evidence of that in-person meeting -- entry stamp to the PH, boarding passes. That would be all that's needed for the USCIS requirement for marriage consummation.

Puppythecat reacted to top_secret in Any CR-1/IR-1 Recently Enter & Receive SS & Green Card?
Social Security cards very promptly showed up in my mailbox exactly 7 days after they arrived at LAX. No sign of any green cards yet but that is not an issue since the stamped visa is the temporary green card. The CBP Officer who processed my wife and stepdaughter was very friendly but had a rather disparaging assessment of his colleagues at USCIS processing green cards lately. He jokingly (??) told my wife the green card may come in 3 months or 6 months and she may have to call them a few times to get them to work on it.

Puppythecat got a reaction from Chancy in K1 Interview passed and some good news!
My fiancé passed the embassy interview last night (today her time) and said the interview only took 5 minutes. The interviewer didn't even ask for affidavit of support or the scrapbook of photos of us together she made for evidence. It sounds like the embassy is pushing people through fast to try to catch up on the backlog so if you're still waiting for an interview date it could be coming soon!
