Can an older woman successfully get a younger man a visa? Yes. Are these relationships always successful? No. Successful = petitioner and beneficiary are still married post citizenship, post him getting on his feet financially, post him finishing school, etc....so let's say 5-7 years after he arrives in the US. According to my personal idea of a successful immigration relationship, most MENA relationships are not successful regardless of the ages of the husband and wife. That shouldn't discourage you, however. Any relationship can succeed or fail depending on the parties involved not depending on how old the parties are.

Read the sticky about denials. Denials can and do happen. No horror story, just reality. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst (read sticky). I wouldn't stress though. You never know what will happen.

    Rofl!!
I do believe someone has heard some crazy Egyptian rumors. Strays in hospitals - believable considering its Egypt. Strays carrying off babies - unbelievable and pretty much impossible.

I'm sorry this happened to you but you must know that you were treated this way because you were never meant to be a permanent wife. It's cold I know but if a man truly wants you to be his wife he wouldn't have treated you that way. I'm sorry you got involved with such a bad person and family.

Ok I wasn't going to say anything but this is crazy. Betsy lives in KY. How is it even possible that she showed up at where the OP lives in IL? I think this is a case of the OP being paranoid. Being FB friends with someone doesn't mean they're messing around. I have FB friends who are guys that I went to school with who I do live nearby that I never see or even communicate with. Sorry but the OP sounds insane.

I just discussed this with my Egyptian husband and he said getting married at the Egyptian embassy will not fulfill any religious requirements for your fiancé. He was like, there are Christians in Egypt, too so what does the Egyptian embassy have to do with Islamic religious requirements? If your fiancé was so concerned about being married by Egyptian authority perhaps he should've pushed for getting married in Egypt. Seriously, why complicate things?

If the ceremony is non religious does it matter if the person officiating is Muslim? I mean if it's not going to involve scripture of some kind, does it really matter? Also, how does getting married at the Egyptian embassy satisfy the fiancé's religious requirements if it's not a religious ceremony? And what about you, OP? What about YOUR religious requirements? Or does your religion not count? Just curious because this all seems one sided and catering to your fiancé, only.

Can't you get married at the justice of the peace? It's non religious and legal. Why would you want to complicate matters by having to travel to the nearest Egyptian embassy? You can register the marriage with Egypt at a later date.

Not to offend anyone who loves it but the terms "my queen" and "my king" make me gag.
About the topic, while there is tons and tons of fraud going on in regards to MENA relationships there really are some successful relationships. There isn't a magical formulation for the success other than maybe two compatible people (in many ways) getting married and making it work. Making it work is key and both parties have to work at it. I don't know the OP or her husband personally and I'm sorry this has happened to her. It's awful. That being said, I doubt the guy just suddenly turned into a scumbag. Scumbags don't become scumbags overnight.

Returning petitions to the US sticky. It's not a rejection, it's a denial and return to the US.
The whole using alimony and child support as income would be a red flag, to me. Child support is support for the children not support for a future spouse. Man ppl are lucky I'm not in charge lol.

You can either use just the second name as a middle or put the second and third names as middles. My husband put his second and third name as a middle. It was hyphenated to make it work as a double middle ie abdelrazek-abdelmoaty.

I feel overwhelmed just reading this, I can't imagine experiencing it. I'm also a mother of 4 so I know how challenging that can be in and of itself and I don't have special needs kids. Try looking at the situation as a blessing in disguise. By the time your fiancé gets here you should have something figured out as far as child care and employment, hopefully. That way when he gets here he isn't immediately thrown into the Mr. Mom role to 4 children that aren't his own. That could certainly put a major strain on your relationship and you don't need that on top of everything else. I hope things settle for you and aren't nearly as bad as they appear to be. You're a mom, you can do this!
