My son and my files have been updated ... it looks like we weren't transferred back to our local office after all!!!

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On February 22, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Silly question here ... does this mean that we've been approved without interview?

We got approved for our Green Card today!

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

On February 15, 2008, we ordered production of your new card.

  4. Ask the Consul after your interview and you got approved if you can pick-up your visa. Honestly tell him why you want to pick-up your visa. I pick-up my visa two days after my interview and I don't have any request letter from my fiance. Just be honest.

But if you want, you can asked your fiance to write you a request letter. Hopefully someone here can provide you a sample for that.

  5. When my husband submitted I-129F application we already included my police record (we submitted everything anyway even if not part of the requirements). And yet during my interview I still brought with me my original police record and other documents.

If you did not submit his police record with your application, don't worry, just let him bring it with him during the interview. Besides, if they need it or need more evidence before the interview, they will let you know.

  6. i received a letter today to appear for initial interview for my adjustment of status.this scares me. because i know most people didnt have to go for initial interview. my question is, in the notice it says to bring a completed medical examination (formI-693).and it confuses me because i already had my medical examination at st.lukes in manila.do i have to get another medical here? or was the medical at manila sufficient enough?please if any of you has similar experiences please let me know what you did. i do know though that we all receive the same kind of letter for those who are requested to appear for initial interview.

Aside from our medical at St. Luke's, we need to have our TD shots when we arrived in the US. The US surgeon will transfer our records from the copy St. Luke's gave us during our medical (vaccinations), the surgeon then will give you the original and a photocopy of which will be placed in a sealed envelope and that sealed envelope is the one you need to include when you apply for your AOS, that's the supplemental I-693 form. We paid $30 only.

Well, if you did not include that in your application, then bring that during your interview.

  7. my fiance met a girl at the medical office and she had her interview today.. seems she got a 221g, they asked her for the receipt of the engagement party.. so now my fiance is stressed out.. delhi is very strict... now we are all stressed...

Don't be stressed....just gather any other evidences you had and bring them all during your interview. I brought two big photo albums during mine and other evidences as well we deemed important to show a genuine relationship even if it is not listed as requirements.....during the interview the consul asked me what's in my big bags (two big bags) I just simply told him photo albums and other evidences .....the consul just smiled and said that must be heavy...and I got approved...he did not asked me so many questions either, only one or two and that's it!

You can do it! Believe in your Love! (L) Good luck!

  8. I just got an email update.

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

I was transfered to the CSC, does this mean I have been transferred out? Will we still need a interview - anyone know?

Not really sure but it took them a few days, after we received a transfer notice from post mail that our case been transferred to CSC, to update our case online. And in every updates or touches they made on our case, we saw the same messages, just like what you got. Just take note of the update dates....if the date changes then that means they are working on your case......

  13. I agree with Garya505. File your AOS and EAD using your married name, hence, you are already married. You can change your name in your SS Card later on when you got your EAD or Green Card. It is easy to do. That's what I did and I got my new SS Card without problems.

Correct me if I am wrong, you can request for name change 3 times a year, and reissue of SS Card no more than 10 times in your life time. This is as far as I can remember.
