Tacos got a reaction from gregcrs2 in Expedited tourist visa for spouse's family
My wife's aunt and uncle, who raised her, applied for their tourist visa but the soonest appointment is in 2025. My wife and I recently found out that she's pregnant with our second kid, and I'm gone a lot for work, and she's alone half the month, she would at least like her aunt to come and help because. Are we able to get the appointment moved up and can I do anything for their application? It would be great if they can come sooner. The aunt is a teacher, the uncle is retired, they own their home. Any advice for them to get their tourist visa approved?

First of all, I'm not trying to circumvent anything, our motives are legitimate, everything has been done truthfully. Secondly, you don't have the complete picture of the situation based upon two posts. I asked for advice on my situation, not opinions about our motives. A simple "no, it can't happen", or a "yes it can happen, but this is what's necessary to do..." would suffice. If it can't happen, so be it, we'll come up with an alternative plan.
If nothing else, she will go down there before the due date, so she has some support, and we'll do a birth abroad through the embassy like we did with our first kid.
I despise people who circumvent the system, I'm an immigrant myself, as is my wife. We both have been through the system, and it's been a long, expensive and complicated ordeal; we started this in 2019. My wife hasn't had an interview for her green card, even though we applied AOS nearly two years ago, while refugees and illegals are being given priority over others, so spare me with the accusations.
Thank you for the good response.

I find the wait times unacceptable and I’m not happy about it. In fact, I’m mad as hell. We are have hundreds of thousands of illegals being processed at record speeds. With no fees paid or wait times required.

Visa finally issued today! After 6 weeks in AP and constant delays, almost 2 years from start to finish. Good luck everyone!

Last night, my fiancé picked up her package from the embassy. It had the passport with the visa, some photos we submitted with the I-129F, and the sealed packet she needs to give immigrations in the US. I appreciate all the help and advice we've received.
Does anyone know of moving companies from Colombia to the US? We have some large and heavy boxes to get up there that will probably expensive with the airlines.

We also checked the status and saw that it was changed to "issued", which I thought was fast considering our interview as about a week ago and that we had some paperwork issues.

Well, I thought it would never happened. Interview is scheduled towards the end of July, and I'm glad it's for when I'm off for work, so I can be with her and our kid. Last night, after a late night at work, I did a final review of the DS-160, submitted it, paid the fee and scheduled the interview and biometrics. So relieved that it's finally happening.
I'm worried about my fiancé's previous four denials for tourist and student visa applications, which I hope will be a non issue, especially since we have a kid together and despite the long waiting time in the process, we're still together. Hopefully the interview will pretty easy as well. Any advice for the next steps?
I'm having visions of me sitting in a beach chair with a cigar, watching her and our kid playing in the water on Miami Beach, taking them hiking and camping in Glacier National Park near where my dad lives, and other things I've been dying to do.

I just got to Munich Germany via Kazakhstan, Inchon and Narita where I started at 4:30 this morning (maybe yesterday morning, I get lost in what day of the week it is; the perks of flying cargo around the world :D), but after getting to my hotel room from enjoying a nice TALL German beer to finish the day before I sleep and fly again tomorrow, I happened to check the case status and it’s FINALLY in transit to the embassy in Bogota. I’m so happy,
The million dollar question, now what do I do and how soon do I do it? This was totally unexpected, I didn’t think anything was going to happen for at least another few months.

Our IR-1 case was DQ on 11/18/20 and we just last week received an interview date in Bogotá for late June. This kind of caught us by surprise since we’ve been waiting so long and we really didn’t expect anything to happen until the fall. Now we are scrambling to get flights and final paperwork together. My beneficiary is from Venezuela so we’ll have to plan out housing too! It’s crunch but we are excited this is finally moving!

There are also a few K1s who’ve had their cases sent to BOG, they were from 03/20 time frame. My case was created 6/6/20, so I hope it will not be too long for us.

I don’t have any 1099s. I’ll just have her bring the 1040s and W2s. Appreciate the info. I just don’t want her to be denied because of paperwork issues, I told my fiance “you prep for the interview, I’ll take care of the paperwork”, hopefully I’m not going to let her down.
When I called the IRS after I filed my delinquent returns, I was told the processing would take 4-8 weeks. It’s been more than triple that time frame 😂. That agency is not the most honest of them all.

I hope things start going pretty soon, the NOA2 for me was 5/2020, so I’m anxious knowing we’re right around the the corner. The question is how long it will take to get around the corner.
Anyways, these links are for the numbers issuances of for non-immigrant visas (K1s) but January is the last month reported.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/nonimmigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-nonimmigrant-visa-issuances.html
This is for immigrant visas such as CR1/CR2

Good news, but I was hoping to see more K1s. I’m happy for everyone regardless of type though.

Okay got it! I thought I had seen a message that said “at the end of this form you must pay a fee” but I am likely definitely losing my mind from lack of sleep 🤣
I am curious if they will ask you to redo it as well. It took my fiancé and I about 2.5 hours to finish due to a horrible phone connection. I’m glad to have this one thing behind us

Congrats on getting the interview, please keep us updated and give us a debrief about the interview, which I’m nervous about given her previous denials for tourist and student visa applications. I’m also planning on being there for the interview, or at least outside pacing in circles.
Seems that her and my son being in the US near my birthday at the end of June could be a real possibility.

WE HAVE AN INTERVIEW!!
I have no idea how this is possible. My case shows at NVC but 5 minutes later I checked my email and the embassy emailed to inform me that our interview is April 8th.
I had reached out to my congresswoman and I know she contacted the NVC about my case, I am really wondering now if she made this thing move for me.
Anyways, we now have A TON to do in the next couple of weeks and have to figure out how to get both of us to Colombia. Just wanted to give you all a little update on that, I hope this means that the end is in sight for everyone!!

I don't want to read too far into it but I checked CEAC today and my case was "touched" yesterday 3/5. Could be in response to an email I sent a week ago or maybe they are getting ready to email me. My case had not been "touched" since October 2020. Fingers crossed.

I hope you and your fiancé have a serious discussion as to your needs and wants in the relationship, better to learn now that you might not be on the same page, then after you import him. I’d hate for you to be in the same situation.
