That was a very rude response.  Uncalled for.  Did you even read what she said?  Why take out your frustrations on her?
 
They started in 2019, on a K1, pre-Covid, and now her case is stuck in the K1 roadblock at the Embassy.  The American Citizen mother-in-law asked if she could help.  She did not ask her MIL for help.
 
I actually think the MIL could try to help.  It can't hurt if she writes her congressmen and senators.
 
Why is the U.S. not vaccinating their Embassy staff, expats and locals both?  Seems like a logical way to move forward and get back up to full speed.  How hard can it be to get 500 (guess) staff vaccinated?

My position is, the more US citizens who push for action, the more the US government will listen. It's at the point where things will not change unless people start complaining, loudly and repeatedly. Same for the PH citizens, except that there is a very real chance of government harrassment for anyone who speaks up too loudly. So the best and safest bet is for the US citizens to speak up.

Metro Manila mayors voted 9-8 in favor of moving to MGCQ Match 1st.  Hopefully the powers that be approve their wish.  At least it gives us a date for something to hope for.  Cross your fingers...

Hopefully it will go to MGCQ. If that will not trigger USEM to ramp up processing, then we can probably say goodbye to any real movement at USEM until mass vaccination starts in the PH.

The assumption was if Manila went to MGCQ (the lowest quarantine) on March 1st then the embassy may consider expanding their services.  If Manila does go to MGCQ and the Embassy still doesnt open up more, then its pretty much a guaranteed they wont resume regular services until everything is back to normal.  Just recently, there has been alot of pushback from health officials to not go to MGCQ on March 1st and to wait until the majority are vaccinated which wouldnt occur until well into next year.  I think alot will depend on the decisions made in the next 2 weeks. 

I heard the same rumor but have not seen any official source. 

Welcome You may also want to bring up with your fiancé that a longer visa validity gives you more options with future flights. You won't be obliged to choose inconvenient schedules / expensive flights because you're racing against the visa expiration date.

Thank you @Adventine that's my fiancés idea but im not really in a rush to do another Medical because yes i agree that i might ended up having short time to pack things.

@BOKURAGAITA I second the suggestion that you should postpone doing your medical until you have an interview appointment at USEM. Once you have an interview date, you can schedule the medical just before the interview.
 
Remember that your future K1 visa's validity is tied to your medical exam, so it works in your favor to wait for now. Otherwise, you may end up with a K1 visa that you can only use within an extremely short period of time. Maybe not enough time to get wrap everything up in the PH before relocating.

Just bring your schedule letter whenever you are ready to do your medical. It's what they told me when i want to reschedule my medical. As long as you paid the fee. This happened last July when their website is having a problem but i dont know today.

MRV fee is valid until Sep 2022.

As noted the petition validity can be extended by the embassy.   You may have to pay another visa fee as that is normally valid for only 1 year, not sure if the embassy will make exceptions because of the beer virus BS.

Interesting. I take it to mean "Post" means the Embassy. But whether or not that means you'll get an interview, not sure.

Expiring medical Jan 28 2021 but was told to call them Dec 28 2020 for emergency appointment. Hopefully this time it works, no email needed they want us to call them immediately.

Case ready since June 15th. 

I don't have an interview appointment yet , my fiancé called and they told him to call again after Christmas because they will going to make a case number (not sure or is it a form) for my interview appointment (expiring medical). We've been waiting for this kind of response from them and hope it goes well.
