    Overall the best practice is to apply for SSN before marriage (and then later update the name when EAD or GC is issued with new surname).
     
    That blog only focuses on SSN in relation to work authorization. But SSN can also be provided when doing non-work activities (i.e. opening bank accounts, etc.).

    I don't have a problem doing that. It's not what you said; its the way you said it. I can take constructive criticism; however, I feel a lot of you are rude to certain people on here amd certain people you respondto be better. Be blessed.

    Aren't you reading too much into it?  There was no criticism in my comment.  I have no idea how you could take a simple suggestion as being rude.  People do come to this website not knowing that they can contact the embassy directly regarding their issue.

    Yes .my hubby was supposed to file earlier this week(February 3rd )but he had to pause till we get positive news because he doesn’t know what the out come would be or if we would be placed on Administrative processing
