Wintime,
For Addis Ababa, you should be ok to attend the interview according to the VJ embassy info page: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...aba&entry=2
Can fiance(e)/spouse attend the interview? YesIt varies by embassy/consulate. You can contact the embassy to verify.
NVC is open until midnight EST. You are better off calling 11:30PM EST to get through to an operator. You can call early too, 7:30AM. So their hours are pretty good, but hard to reach an operator at peak times (lunch hour, 8-10 AM EST, etc.).The bit about the truck being loaded before being sent out from CSC to NVC originated from the March filers. They were at the leading edge of the current slow down both at CSC approvals stage and getting to NVC. After seeing Feb filers fly (relative to themselves) through CSC and on to NVC, they were wondering what was taking so long. First with their approvals, then with getting to NVC. Various March filers (LvivLovers, Kalina, neel06 and others) called USCIS and got through to CSC and got various reasons why they were so long to get to NVC. One consistent response they got was the trailer wasn't full and thus there was no shipment to NVC yet. The story went the truck goes to NVC once full, or once a month if not full. So you might have to wait a month for it to go once its on the truck if you get into an empty truck.
Another thing that they heard was the new I130 and I129F pairing (and sending I130 to NRC and I129F to NVC) resulted in a new staging area being set up to handle this activity, and the newness of it all was taking them some time to get used to, up to an additional month before it got on the truck. How true any of these stories are is unknown. They came from the misinformation line after all. As you can see, some of us April/May got to NVC awful quick (could have just been we made it at the tail end of a mostly full truck too
). But then they slowed again.
Lastly, you can certainly go with your spouse to the interview. I would be careful about helping her answer questions, as in if you cut off her answer to interject, it might look strange to the interviewer as if you have something to hide.
got so busy this past week, and my work hours aren't good to call NVC, I always finish work around 06:00pm or after, butI have off next Monday, so I will call them to see if my case made it or not.
I still can't believe what USCIS is doing with the case after approval, why don't they send it.
Also I have question to those who said in this forum that the USCIS wait until a track or something get filled then they send the load to NVC.. where did you get this information from?
one more question ...at the time of interview is it ok for me to be with my wife when she goes to the interview? and support her with the answer to the question? have anyone done that?
Thanks to all

Thank you sooooo much man for your thoroughly answer
,
About NVC hours… waw I didn’t know that I was thinking they have a business hours only. But that’s very good I will sure call them toward Monday morning to see, and if my case haven’t made it I will follow up everyday when I come from work.
About the interview, I was wonder if at all they will allow me to get with her to the window/room she will be interviewed on.
The God bless you man, you are very resourceful ,
Thank you so much Urge... way to go

Thank you so much for all the reply, truly I appreciate it
I will try with all my ability to go to the interview, but I hope they will let me go with her at the window or room of interview, even if they don’t allow me to help on the answer but at least I would know what went (The God forbid) wrong, then help on that.
Thank you again and let’s see if any of the married couples did went with their spouses to the interview

Congrats to the people who have received their approvals!
Deb,
Please hang in there! So glad you called to see what the heck is going on. Remember, they told me my petitions were on the shelf on Nov 7th and they had never been touched and then lo & behold, approval came on Nov 15th. I expect you will see something from them soon.
~Tomeca
Tomeca,
I am glad also that I called or we would have still been waiting. However, you got a mean person to answer your call. This lady was very kind and helpful and asked questions of me instead of the other way around. She said she would pull our file and place it on an adjudicator's desk since it was out of processing time. So "wait and see". Isn't that what we are always doing????
Deb
Deb,
It's great you got a nice lady! I called NVC on Thursday to check to see if they had received our I-129F yet. The lady was extremely polite. The whole call, waiting and all, only lasted about 7 minutes. I couldn't believe it after the lady I talked to at CSC. Yes, waiting is what we do. We should all be pros by now.
Tomeca
Tomeca,
Apparently, the lady kept to her word and actually put our file on someone's desk because the I-130 was touched today (Sunday), but no touch on I-129F. Hope they don't pull something like they did with Kathryn and approve my I-130 and let the K-3 sit so long that they terminate it. (I pray that they don't).
Deb
Don't worry Kelly I hope this is it (the nice B) sweet
approval), and the touch to apear on your I-130 but not in your I-129F is usual nowdays with many of the late approvals in Vjer's, like my case, I hope you get your approval for both by mail tomorrow
For those of you waiting NOA2, I hope and pray for you to get it no later then this week... and go to the next step

Here is a tip on tracking your packet from NVC to your Embassy through DHL:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1375804
It appears our petition left NVC on November 21 and arrived at USEM November 26.
Now where is that interview date?
Thanks edp333, I sure tried it and it worked, really great
.
Wintime,
When are you going to call the NVC? Please let me know.
Thanks,
I will call them tomorrow, because I see other people on Urge's from 1st, 2nd and 3rd week of Nov., so I think USCIS's shipment is almost full
, thus I will try calling tomorrow if nothing there I will call in Friday.

HELLO
Yesterday I called Bogota embassy and They has been recieved my case 26 Nov and I sent my package 3 for fax today
My case has made it to the embassy too. Will post an updated chart soon. Real busy at work........MARIA FDA & Urge To RaceCongratulation
on your case getting to the embassy
Great news, it’s few weeks and everything will be ok
-
Hello everyone. Congrats to everyone for making it this far! Urge, will you please add me to your chart when you update. My info is in my signature. I called the NVC today and they have not received our stuff yet. I'm confused about what is going to happen next. I thought the NVC was going to send a bill to me and to my spouse, one for AOS and one for visa processing. The lady at NVC told me that all they do is enter our information into the computer and forward everything on to the embassy. She said we would receive a bill from the embassy. Is that correct? She gave me the number for the consulate in Lagos so I can call with general questions, but I thought I would ask here first. I'm just trying to get this all straight! Thanks for any information you can provide.
From your signature it seems that you have your I-129F approved, so why don't you go with K3 visa, it's way faster then going through CR1, so no bill to be waiting for or anything.

just for the record, I have no idea how the first quote in my reply to C & J got there
, and I couldn't take it off, no re-edit permission any more

This topic has been closed for violating the TOS.I received packet 3 in the mail today
The letter was dated the 27th, which was the same day I phoned them and was told they hadn't received my petition yet
Oh, well, stranger things have happened in this process I suppose
Now I have a dilema... I have all of the paperwork I have to submit at the interview, except the I134 and it's supporting evidence (transcripts etc). Josh and my mum in law are still waiting for the transcripts to arrive. Do I chance it and send the form back to say I have everything or do I delay my eventual interview by however long it takes to receive that evidence? The average time for a London interview is 2 months.
C & J
From what I read in the instruciton for I-134 the IRS transcript are not must, you can still give copys of the Tax forms along with the W-2 proff of income, and things can even be faster if he uses online Tax sites, if he does then he can send those copes in PDF format to your email, also you can get the transcript faster, let him ask them to be sent by fax, so he can also attach that with the copes of the tax form and W-2, I have done that when I was going through citizenship with USCIS, it helped me a lot.
A question to you about packet# 3, what was in it? like what is the check list of the requirement?
-
Please note that I am asking after I read the instruction + the example filled forms here in VJ
I am confused or maybe paying to much attention and focus that I start to lose it, the following questions on I-134 are challenging me
On page# 1
“I have other personal property, the reasonable value of which is:”
Is that any personal property like the value of thinks you own in your home
On page# 2
“With a cash surrender value of:”
This came right after asking about the life insurance amount, but I still can’t understand what the “cash surrender” is
On page# 2
Also question number 10 : I intend do not intend to make…etc
My wife will be living with me and I will cover all her expenses, so what should I answer
-
Congratulations
That was quick, you are lucky, I wish the same good lock to everyone out there going on this journey.
BTW, my case was one of those that Urge to Race mention, where we got touches on both I-130 and I-129F then the I-130 status says approved, where the I-129F doesn't, so do some others [My_Honey, GandMAT and others]
-
Really strange... just because we have the same I-129F approval dates, I went and checked but I don't have this update you got, I hope it's computer problem and you and all of us are fine
-
Ok, the consulate would only have the K3 now even if the I130 was sent to NVC. NVC takes 2-6 months to process an I130 for CR1/IR1. Did you get anything from NVC for the I130? You can call NVC and use the automated system to see if your WAC (or EAC # for VSCers) is in their system for the I130. There is the DS3032 (choice of agent) that goes out to you and your spouse. There is the 2 fee bills (affidativ of support and iv fee) that you would get after that.
Thanks a lot Urge To Race, yours and supernova made me feel like a little dumb baby sinking on a one inch water
, you know this process is like walking in thin line between two mountains, you gotta be careful with every move you make, I am sure when it’s all over, I will have some laugh at my self

just click continue and it will create empty pdf form for you with the barcode on it.
