  1. Maybe we can start here, because any information we share is crucial. Eventually we can join some social media groups or whatever helps; only those involved in this situation know how others feel.

Every day I wake up and I am thankful because my husband is safe and sound...I just cannot deal with the event he needs me and I cannot reach him out. This is the reason why people make families together!

  2. Hello,

I am Italian and I am waiting for my interview at the US Consulate in Naples. My husband and I started out CR1 petition on April 3rd, 2019.

Visajourney has published a very helpful Megathread regarding the latest announcement from President Trump and the immigration suspension order.

Since this website represents a great support for us, while we are waiting to join our beloved ones, I was wondering whether other Italians are in the same situation as mine.

My first appointment (April 21st, 2020) has been cancelled and I'm (hopefully) waiting for another one.

How about you? Feel free to send me a message, maybe we can create a group and stay up to date regarding this incredible situation.

    Thank you,

    Mirna

Hi, yes! Interview scheduled for March 12. It went really fast after I submitted all the docs to NVC.. how goes it there?

    Hello!

This is great news from you!!! I'm so happy about your interview!

Unfortunately, I have no news from NVC and I have not been approved yet; also, my husband's name is still misspelled.

We submitted on January 8th, 2020. When was your submission?

Please, keep me up-to-date: it makes me happy to know about April 2019's submitters!

    Cheers!

Filling in the DS form and uploading AOS and civil documents today... and sent my lawyer a scathing email. I'm amazed that they get paid to waste our time.

Any idea how long before NVC will complete the review and send it to the consulate?

    Hi LIfiler17,

    How are you?

I remember we submitted almost at the same time and I was wondering whether you have any news from NVC.

Have you made any progress yet? I got my email from NVC on 12/27 and my lawyer has done nothing. I gave him all my materials in advance. I’m extremely frustrated. What is an appropriate time frame for a lawyer to submit the materials? I feel like 3 weeks is too long and unacceptable / every week is a week I could be with my family in the USA.

Oh, we experienced the same thing with our lawyer (and we have already paid him). In the end we decided to tell him: if you do not upload the documents before the end of the day, we'll do that.

    He did it.

It took about 10 /14 days to have all the documents submitted, and we were very disappointed by his behavior (and we, as you, had already sent him all the documents in advance).

Great news! Congrats. I haven’t sent anything yet.. we have a lawyer and I don’t want to do anything without checking with him first - in case he’s emailing them already. Plus it’s Xmas. If yours was done today mine should be within a week. If I don’t hear back I’ll try email them in early Jan. Thanks for letting me know.

once you get the case number, do you know how long it usually takes before they send everything to the consulate?

We also asked our lawyer, but he said we had to wait 2 months before sending the email. My husband and I decided to go ahead and send it anyway.

As per the NVC timing, I'm also searching for information but it seems like there is not a unique criteria. For example, the timing changes in case of missing documents, mistakes, and other unexpected events. Also,  we have noticed that mistake on our application, therefore we expect some delays.

    I will keep you up-to-date.

    Hi, anything yet?

Two days ago we have sent an email to NVC, because it was more than 40 days since we had been approved from USCIS.

Guess what? Today NVC has replied and we have a case number.

Unfortunately, they have misspelled my husband's family name and we are waiting for our lawyer's answer (it seems like a transcription error).

I think they have replied after our email,  @LIfiler17, have you tried the same?

    Overall, it's good news.

Hi, mine was sent to NVC on Nov 19 (from texas) and I haven't heard back yet. Anyone with similar dates?

    Hi,

same here. Mine was sent from Texas service center to NVC on November 15th. I haven't heard back yet too.

According to their page, as of 16-DEC-2019, they were working on cases that were received from USCIS on 15-NOV-2019.

  9. Is your husband a US citizen?

My husband is, therefore we guess the number of available VISAs shoul not be limited. On the contrary, it should be for permanent residents; so, they are processed asap to give a chance to get their VISAs as soon as they are available.

Am I correct? Please, correct me in case I am wrong. I am reading a lot of web info trying to get an idea about how the "wheels spin"...

Has anyone used a lawyer throughout this process? If so , has it helped?

We did. So far, I cannot see any advantage, but nothing happened since we submitted our petition (receipt date was April 3rd, 2019).

We expected some delays because we are both divorced.

We see cases differ a lot - and of course processing times also depend on the Service Center, whether the petitioner is US citizen or not, and...luck?

    🙂

  11. Hi all,

I have been following this thread for a while but this is the first time I am posting. I am from Italy, my husband is from Boston, and our I-130 was received on April 3rd, 2019.

So far, I haven't received any updates from USICS, but I see most April 2019 filers are getting approved.

I am a bit concerned but I have my fingers crossed.

Good luck to all of you.
