90DayFinancier got a reaction from laylalex in Barr rejects key finding in report on Russia probe: report
Let's discuss rationality:
In a post last week you talked about a Trump 2024 victory. So your Independence is so strong you want to suspend or amend your Constitution so Trump can have another term. It sure sounds like you have partaken of some rare Kool aid.
I am not potraying independents as anything. I am questioning your politically independent bona fides.

90DayFinancier got a reaction from laylalex in Politico: Kamala Harris drops out of presidential race
As to the looking: She does have a je ne sais quoi about her.
I didn't see her on TV so I cannot respond to her excuses.
You do have to admit that Democratic voters weary of Trump will look for the alternative that will defeat him. Being a woman and being black are strikes against her perceived electability which will enter into the primary voters calculus. Whether that's fair or good is besides the point, to some only a victory will do and Biden is over Trump in most polls.

Again, why change your rules to accommodate the current president? Answer: the current president cannot tolerate criticism or dissent. He expects total, lock step, obedience.
The President is also hand picking candidates in GA , LA and AL for lower offices.
This is dangerous for the long term health if the system.

I think the consensus was that since the President visited but didn't play golf, last weekend should be deducted from the 115 Million.

I meant that becoming a net exporter of oil did not necessarily mean the country was a net exporter of energy.

Are we really going to start linking to twitter comments as if they are legitimate sources?

Hey I try. Thank you for the wishes. Sadly not though.. my labs are worse than the last draw and that wasn't a shock to me considering how poorly things are going. There is somewhat of an idea on diagnosis and I'm hopeful to beg them to start treatment on that tomorrow.

I can imagine it would be quite an honor to have your wine chosen for the WH. And it probably would be important to local a winery in the DC/MD area as we take it very seriously. It's a great way to showcase what we can do and boost sales for said product, especially with our fussy alcohol laws.
Something tells me though Mel isn't sitting down to a dinner of burgers every night... so I think the article might be a bit overblown in the emphasis of 'peasant food' choices.
Still President's through the ages have eaten plenty of strange 'peasant food'. I don't think it was remarked about that much.. https://www.delish.com/food-news/g3632/the-us-presidents-all-time-favorite-foods/

NB, I think the article is actually saying something a little bit different. It's not saying his choices are divisive, but the article does smack a little bit of food-snobbery, something I think we'd see here on the forums as we gush about fancy alcohol and pencils compared to the dreck we mere peasants enjoy. Of course us peasants know that meatloaf is a very excellent foodstuff, and can be made fancy if you want it. My meatloaf (gama's reciepe) is beloved, and for those seeking a fancy version I know of a local place that you can have by candlelight and with whatever alcohol suits your delight. Ice cream is nonsensical to be a snob about though, because I don't think there is anyone on earth that would dislike it.
The second feature of the article is making a small point that probably won't be important to most people. The WH used to be somewhat known for featuring local 'high-class' chefs, that could role out much finery and impress international guests and other visitors with a sort of fusion of food-statecraft. To sort of show off that we can do 'fancy' too. A lot of people were bothered by offering honored guests soggy fast food. I tend to think that when you want to have special guests over to your house, you likely aren't going to slap McD's in front of them, vs whatever sort of humble but pleasant meal you could put down.
The third point of the article is food standards in school cafeterias. It's not really something that makes sense in the other topics of the article, but it's something that we as Americans should want to fix. The food is lousy, cheap, and unhealthy. I suspect that kids could get a lot more nourishment from something that was both healthier and tasted better. But increasingly kids are starving, in poverty, and relying on school cafes as likely their only source of food for the day.

No. What I am saying is that people need to take a deep breath and not see an agenda in these things.

The illegal-voter thing in Texas was a premature tally that didn't account for different variables*. The 95,000 total was jumped on by all sides, revised numbers were presented, and those who had initially broadcast the wrong total got egg on their faces and admitted that they deserved it. Most of this correction/clarification happened within a matter of days. Everyone seemed largely satisfied in the end.
*one was the number of registrants who signed up to vote at their naturalization ceremonies; would be interesting to learn how states are notified of these numbers or seek to track them

He did. It's already about half way down page 1 with no replies. You might want to post something in it before it falls off the first page completely.

I forsee Trump national park, Trump international airport, the Trump monument, and the city of Trumpsville in our future. OK not really, but maybe we can name a casino or a hotel after him.
