Hey guys,
After our interview got cancelled for the third time in August my partner has been visiting from the States and we've just been trying to keep our heads down and our minds on each other. I haven't been on the lookout for news recently so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about K1 visa interviews? Are they back on?
Is there any indication of them being back on in the near future? Or is everyone clinging on in hope until Biden's inauguration?

We've also been tempted to move my partner back here to the UK rather than wait borderline indefinitely. Unfortunately due to the 6 month payslips requirement We have to wait another three and a half months to apply as until two months ago I'd been out of work visiting the states and getting everything ready to move soon. We'll probably just go for whichever route brings us together soonest.
Plus.. the NHS is a huge bonus..

Same. August 14th interview cancelled. The process has made me numb to further delays. This sucks.

Yeah I've gotta say, I saw a debate a while back on whether even cancer would justify an expedited case.. I highly doubt covid would gain anyone an emergency interview.

Just to update those in this thread.. user EricLT who I believe is applying in Poland had an email hinting that K1's were not exempt from the EO.
That user today posted this follow up email:
'
I received another email today and they said it was a mistake. This is good for us
Dear Sir,
Please disregard previous email we've told you that we can't process K visas until 2021, when the June 22 PP expires. This is not correct.
Fiancé applicants are affected only by the March 11 Presidential Proclamation that bars entrance to the United States to anyone who has been in the Schengen Area in the previous 14 days
K visa applicants ARE affected by the March 11 PP barring most travelers who have been in the Schengen Area recently. This means that when the March 11 PP is lifted, we'll be able to process K visas again. We don't know when this will be, but we might be able to process K visas BEFORE 2021.
We hope the above information is helpful.
Sincerely,
Correspondence Unit

Here's my experience, I contacted the London embassy through their form asking specifically whether the K1 visa is included in the EO. The answer I received was a copy and pasting of the updates on their website which does not refer to the K1 visa at any point. They did however in the text highlight the following section:
"Can I apply for a fiancé(e)/K-1 visa? What if my fiancé(e) visa petition expires?
Routine visa processing is currently suspended. We are only able to process visas for certain family members, such as spouses and children. Therefore we are unable to proceed with fiancé(e) visa applications at this time.If the fiancé(e) visa petition expires, you may revalidate the petition with a letter from the petitioner stating that you both remain legally free to marry and that you will do so within 90 days of your arrival in the United States. You should take the letter with you to your visa interview in the future, not mail it or email it to the Embassy."
So no real updates here. I think if the K1 were included in the EO they would give me a flat out 'yes'. Right now it sounds like it's been forgotten about. I wouldn't trust anyone on these forums yet claiming to have the answer until we have an official statement from the Government or until routine services return.

In the UK specific forum the embassy in an email reply to one suer seems to hint that the K1 is included in the EO

It seems that sadly, it doesn't matter how we interpret which category the K1 Visa falls under. Only how the embassies will choose to interpret it.

Hey guys I may have misread this a few months back but I thought I read somewhere that if something spikes up worth denying your visa in your medical report then you would hear back prior to your interview and probably wouldn't even get an interview. I've also been told recently that your eligibility based on your medical report will be decided AT your interview and you shouldn't expect to hear anything until then.
Any thoughts?

Hey guys,
I'm sure no one can really answer with certainty but I've got to ask anyway. I had my medical completed about a month and a half ago. I was supposed to have my visa interview on July the 9th which has now been pushed back as have many other k1 visa applicants.
My question is that there were two single incidents of admitted weed use years in my past and there's always the potential for me to be denied because of that. I assumed I was fairly safe because I haven't heard from anyone in that month and a half period since my medical. But is it likely that simply no one's seen my medical report yet and I may well still get that denial letter coming through?
Thanks

I certainly hope you're right. I've seen some pretty damning comments in other sections of the forums regarding any marijuana use. We're mentally preparing in case my partner will have to move back to the UK if I get a year ban.
It's been a mentally exhausting process (as I'm sure it is for literally everyone) and I can't wait for it all to be over. Thanks for your time Wuozopo

THanks for getting back to me Wuozopo!
I went for my 'visa medical' appointment on Thursday and the mental health issues were rather quickly gone over. (Completely understandable as it wasn't a psych eval) My concern also lies in I admitted to smoking marijuana twice once the day after my friend passed and once in early 2017. Both thinking it may assist in alleviating feelings of grief. Both induced anxiety and were foolish mistakes.
Basically I'm hoping they WILL ask me for a psych eval as I might at least get a chance to explain my regret, express why I was in such a mental headspace at the time and hopefully prove I've grown up from the depression and mistakes. I was alarmed thinking that it was a different clinic and there was a possibility that I may not get that opportunity before the medical report is sent to the embassy. But from the sounds of it they're essentially the same clinic and I'm still likely to get that request for a psych eval?

Hey guys,
In preparation for my medical appointment I had all my honest information ready. Some regarding mental health history. Having read the forums of Knightsbridge experiences I've seen people get referred on to a psychiatric assessment when there were mental health issues that needed confirmation that the applicant was in the all clear. There's some stuff on my application that almost certainly needs clarification (depressive episodes due to best friend's suicide) that were kinda skimmed over in my recent medical and I'm hoping for the chance to have that psychiatric evaluation to clear it up.
I believe for the US Visa process in the UK it's moved from Knightsbridge to 'Visa Medicals' so I was wondering if I'm likely to get that opportunity or request from visa medicals as I can't see anything on their site about such psych services?

To mirror what the above comments state. DO NOT have a ceremony in Germany before your wedding in the States. It has caused issues before for other couples and given the months you've spent waiting it's really not worth the risk.
As far as the embassy is concerned you must get married IN the States. Any indication otherwise can throw up red flags in their eyes.
I know it's a pain to organise but it's far safer to get married in the States and THEN return to Germany for another ceremony.

Hi all,
My partner and I have lived together in the UK for a year and a half before she left for the States and we got engaged, so we hopefully don't have any concerns as far as evidence and an upcoming interview goes.
The thing is while applying for an ESTA to go visit her i noticed on my British passport a line where you're supposed to sign your passport.. I sent off a scan of the passport unsigned. I have travelled on this and never had any issues but I didn't realise I was to sign it as my previous British passport didn't require a signature there. I'm internally freaking out here as our i29f had just been confirmed with payment taken a week ago. I'm not sure what to do, is there anything we can do? Have I screwed us up? Does this mean we have to wait for it to enter adjudication, get rejected and then apply for the whole process again?
Any updates on K1 visa interviews?

I'm not going to lie.. it doesn't feel very promising when they say 'we are unable to provide a timeframe at this time.'
