  1. Hey y’all!

Id like to inform y’all that I had pretty smooth and long interview earlier. The IO who was assigned to us, was very professional and nice. During the interview she mentioned that my case status will be changed this evening. But after few minutes prior reaching our hotel, I checked online and the I485 changed to “Case approved” while I130 is still on a status of Interview completed and case is for review. Just wanted to ask if anyone of you knows if you’ve experienced this? And what’s your thought about this two different case status?

    Regards and TIA!!!

  2. Hi Guys,

December 14th I received a notice that I am scheduled for an interview. I received the letter via mail and I will be scheduled on Jan 27th 2021. I hope you can help me with these questions, and please wish me luck too 😆😅

    1. Is my medical exam still valid? I had it done on November last year and it’s over a year now, and has been submitted to USCIS? Do I have to redo it again?

    2. I prepared some joint finances and other requirements to bring. Thanks to VISAJOURNEY as my guidance. How many evidences you have brought when you attended the interview? Is it too exaggerating to bring 3 thick folders and one photo album?

    3. What are the common questions they will ask to me and to my husband?

I hope you could response to my questions. Happy Holidays to everyone.

    Regards,

2 - 4 weeks most likely, but might be longer at the moment. Seems like the lockbox is backed up (like everything else). I got text notifications in 4 weeks and NOAs in 5 weeks. Applied in September 2020.

Uffff, that’s pretty long! But still good, I am worried it might take longer. Can’t afford to loose job at the moment. Thank you for your time to respond. Appreciated ☺️

  4. Hey Guys!

Hope y’all good! I’d like to ask if how long does it take for me to receive a response from USCIS after submitting all my documents for EAD extension or renewal? I mailed mine on Nov 20th and they received it on Nov 23rd. I included a G-1145 (E notification) Form. My EAD will be expired on March 2021. Anyone who had same case like this before? I would appreciate your response. TIA and God bless y’all!

  5. Hi Guys,

What will be the next step once my temporary EAD is about to be expired while I am waiting for my AOS interview. Can that be renewed? Is there a payment for renewal? Will USCIS give me an EAD extension?

My EAD will be expired on February 2021. My case status is still for interview. I filed mine on November 2019. Hope you guys can help. Thank you and god bless y’all.

People see these less than accurate headlines and freak out.........Here is another one I just read:

"Trump Freezes Green Cards, Many Work Visas Until End Of Year"

These media headlines make it appear ALL Green Cards are frozen.....

Indeed! I was one of the freakers too. Hahaha. Good thing I can post some queries and get a validation from here 😅

Yes!! My status changed yesterday to case was approved for both my I-765 and I-131. I should have my letter by the end of the week or beginning of next week. All new interviews have been canceled and mine is not yet scheduled. When I get notification of my interview I will get my medical done and bring it with me to the interview. Thank you!

    Mike

That’s good to know 🙂 I haven’t receive any scheduled date for my interview too. When did you file your papers?

I never got ANYTHING at all with an approval for my I765. The other day I received a courtesy letter from USCIS for my form 693 because I didn’t do or submit my medical. On my USCIS account (my.uscis.gov) it says As of September 24, 2019, we completed our review of your fingerprints and are working on your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.

I have this iPhone app called case tracker and it alerted me that my card is being produced so I checked the other USCIS website and when I manually enter my receipt number at egos.uscis.gov it says:

    New Card Is Being Produced

On March 17, 2020, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSC199156xxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us.

How long before it’s in my mailbox? I’m psyched!

    Mike

Mine took 7 days before I received it from the mail. Be patient 😃  you will surely get yours on time. Also if you failed to receive it on time, you can contact the customer service if USCIS to report your concerns. Also with your I-693 you can bring it during your interview

Your green card won't automatically have your husband's last name. You will have to indicate during the interview that you want your husband's last name on the green card or else it will have your maiden name on it and changing that will cost a lot of money and time. As for your EAD, I think the same time/cost applies to changing your EAD, but you'll have to look into that.

As for your SSN, you should be able to get your husband's name on you SSN card if you bring your marriage certificate with you. Worst case scenario, if your SSN is already on its way because you asked for it on your EAD form you just walk into a SSA office with your marriage certificate and ID and they'll change it and send out a new card.

Thank you very much for spending your time to look into my concern. I called the USCIS and they said they did not request SSN for me, so I have to apply it by myself. I will take your advice :)  Thank you again :)

  10. Hello Guys,

I would like to share a good news of mine, I got my EAD yesterday. I am very thankful to this website which helps me process my AOS without me hiring a lawyer, because we cannot really afford it right now. However, I hope you could help me again, with this concern. I filed all my forms with my maiden name, and on my EAD it's also my maiden name which is appearing. I will be applying for SSN soon, Do you think it will affect my Identification records? Should I follow my maiden name on applying for SSN? and when I got an approval on my green card, will they change my maiden name to my husband's last name automatically? Thanks in advance. BTW I have updated my Timeline :)

You case should move to "card being produced", then to the status "your card was mailed to you". Once you have the "Mailed" status You should have it 2 to 3 days. They are sent out USPS Priority Mail

Aaaah okay, so I have to wait for couple of updates prior getting the card. I was too excited, I wasn’t expecting for any updates on my case today. Thank you very much for answering my query sir/ma’am. Appreciated 😊😊

The update to really get excited about is “Interview Was Scheduled,” which can appear up to a year from “Interview is Ready to be Scheduled.”  Ours took 15 months at the Seattle USCIS.

OMG, that’s really a long period of time. I hope we will not wait that long. But I’m still thankful that my case has been looked up and no RFIE to be requested. Thank you for the info.

That's pretty funny, i received my notice today too that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, i'm also in New Orleans as you know, i recently had to send in my response to my RFE that delayed it for a good month as i filed on October 8th, got RFE on Nov 26th which they now have accepted, i'll see you there ;)

Hahahah really? Congratulations, atleast we won’t have any initial evidences to provide. Good Luck and all the best! 😊
