I didn’t have to interview. Greencard just showed up in the mail one day without any online updates.

Ours got rejected for this reason as well. We resubmitted with a cashiers check and the bank guarantees that money.

A lot of people waiting for a green card would have their I-94 expire eventually, especially those who came on a K-1. I am not a lawyer, but I believe her EAD/AP card should be more than sufficient to carry around. I believe that would fall under an "alien registration receipt card" under INA 264(e). The EAD is acceptable documentation for a lot of things, including getting a drivers license and social security number.

As long as you select the right category C9/C09 you shouldn't get rejected.

The people that got rejected used other categories.

Here's an update just in case people find this. We filled out the new, non-expired form. Kept everything else the same, put the green sheet on top, and we were successfully charged by the lockbox. Seemed to work just fine!

MissyB651 reacted to cymbalseatguitars in Question about EAD and application processing
Hi everyone - fully prepared for this to not be something that's answerable given the one-two punch of the pandemic and process reforms.

I submitted the AOS application, with all the bells and whistles, on April 25. Got 797C through soon thereafter.

We've been waiting to hear about biometric appointment ever since. I'm aware that there's quite a logjam.

What I'm wondering is if any processing of my application (such as the EAD) is going on in the background, or if that's all on hold until after my biometrics appointment?

I've been presuming that nothing's going on, and preparing for a long wait, but would be curious to know what to expect.

    Thanks!

It took NVC, 1 month and 1 week to ship my petition to the US embassy in Ghana on September 5th. I just scheduled my appointment on October 24th and still have not received Packet 3. If your petition has been received by the embassy then you can fill out  the visa application DS-160 and pay the fee at GT bank of $265. Then you can start looking for appointments but make sure it would be about 3 months from when they received your petition.

I would do that and make sure to include a receipt number so they can link it to your file. But like someone else said, I would call someone at uscis. Might not help, because they were notoriously unhelpful when I called, but it’s worth the try.

The email states that the petition WAS NOT returned to the the USCIS, which is a good thing.
As they advice you, contact not just the consulate but the NVC. You can call them using the customer service number.

My guess is that embassy/consulate in Cyprus, sent the petition back to the NVC and they will be the ones sending it to Nigeria.

As you'll be processed in another country, the NVC should generate another case number. So again, you should contact the National Visa Center by phone.

    MissyB651 got a reaction from Alex and Nick in I-129F Packet: P. 2, Q. 54 - Circumstances of your in-person meeting
For the circumstances of meeting, I wrote a 1pg letter to the USCIS officer detailing how we came to meet, the dates of each meeting and what we did. We both signed it as well. Just remember, like others have said, the CO will see anything you put in your packet. I would front load your packet within reason. I submitted about 20 photos, my 2 boarding passes and passport stamps. No RFE. Country: Ghana 🇬🇭 high fraud.

i never understand why people are so adamant on here about people NOT including information haha especially since it will not just be looked at by uscis

lurkers also read this board and they may not necessarily be looking at everyone's country to determine if their's is high fraud or not and whether they would need to front load.

either way as long as you don't look married, you should be good. do what feels right. too much cant hurt as long as you dont look married in the evidence. either they'll look at it or not. no biggie, i cant fathom too much info would delay anything unless your packaging was sorely organized.

I'm glad that it worked for you but that is far to minimal for us to be comfortable with. All of our research has shown us that submitting as much as you can will only be in your best interest. Even the K1-Visa Guide here on VJ directs filers to submit as much as they can, including photos.

And yes, pictures are more secondary evidence and don't really prove anything but it is still heavily suggested that you include them in your package and that is the route we're going to take.

I did it because it helped me organize everything and to make sure everything was there. Also makes it easy to look through everything. I didn’t say that’s how they “request” people to do it, only the two whole punch. They say it’s appreciated. But what do I know I got approved in 89 days. Don’t care if they “grumbled” taking it apart, at least it was approved.

    It is wayyyyyyy too much.
You need to prove that you met within past 2 years. So focus on that. You can write in brief on your "how we met" paper. I did. Mine came out full A4 page with whole summary of our history since meeting. Just general stuff. When you met, what did you do (NOT TOO MUCH DETAIL), when she/he left. Add 5-7 pictures, boarding passes and anything that ties you two together in one place. I.E. two tickets to museum, that you've taken pictures in, add boarding pass, and receipts. Do that for couple meets and you should be good.

To address OP, write with a pencil on the back of the picture something in the nature of
Date of picture, who's in the picture, where the picture was taken, and occasion (Christmas, thanksgiving, new year etc).
10 pictures is more than enough. Add ticket receipts, passport stamps, hotel receipts etc.

I'm not sure how strict USCIS with preliminary "approval" depending on countries. I know Lithuania is very easy, so i didn't front load THAT much. I had my then fiance to have extra pictures and receipts for the interview, but they never bothered to look at them. In fact, they said that most of the time, they can see right of the bat whether the relationship is bona fide or not. (My wife worked in a restaurant an occasionally she'd come across Officers from Embassy).

The next question is why you are wasting money on RapidVisa. You’re from the U.K. so presumably you speak English. The forms are in English. What exactly do you need their help for? Already you’ve seen that you’ve got more help here for free than you’ve had from them who charge you for it.

Front loading is where you load your K1 application  up with big time proof of relationship i.e., text, pictures, receipts and anything else you think would help your application get approved. This is done because once your application  gets to the embassy phase the CO does not have to accept anymore proof except what's already in your packet. Many COs make their decision even before the interview just by looking at the K1 application. Side loading though not as good as front loading is adding documents at and during the interview.
