  3. Thanks!! So,may interview parin pala wen u get GC?also,i can always apply for an ssn anytime whenever i dont have it yet within 3 weeks?I jus want to make sure that I surely understood ur explanations... :)

check my signature below for timeline of my Greencard. Also, not everyone has interview to complete AOS application. There are some that didn't pass thru interview session anymore.. Regarding the SSN, there are some State that they're very particular with SSN application if the reference is the I-94.

There are some Social Security Administration Office that refuses to issue SSN to applicants who entered USA by K1 Visa..although there's a notice that you can print out & show it to SSAOffice if in case they will have in doubt of issuing you a SSN. Secure a copy of this when you apply for SSN.

thanks for the links.. I graduated from Mapua :)

goodluck! wish u all the best!

    thanks ;)

hi, just check www.wes.org- instructions are simple and easy to comply with. The only difficult part is somebody who will follow it up back in Manila when you are to send your requests coz you can't submit for evaluation whatever credentials you have now. wes.org just need your photocopied diploma if you have with you now as an initial credential to be submitted while waiting credentials coming form Manila.... here click this one http://www.wes.org/required/index.asp, http://www.wes.org/fees/schedule.asp, make sure first that you already have a target school to send your credential evaluation because sometimes they don't accept copies that is already in your hands, it should be sealed with signature on the seal flap when they will be handed to them. I hope this would help you... God bless :innocent:

    thanks.. nice heads up :)

  5. Hi...

I got my Bachelors Degree of Chemical Engineering in the Phils. Now, i'm planning to take MBA here in USA..I learned that I need to submit my credentials for evaluation, to assess on its equivalent to USA standard.

Anybody here who has experience on this? Any recommendation of gov't office or agency I can deal with regarding this evaluation?

Any input will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance..

    best regards!

  8. I'm curious as to what activities you have planned while your fiancee is being interviewed at the embassy. I've had offers that include a prayer vigil to massive doses of adult beverages at a local establishment.... Not sure which one gets my vote yet. How about your plans?

    - Derrel

my fiance (now my husband) was waiting with copy of visa pick-up letter & telephone number of embassy on hand. (i forgot the name of that Embassy staff that's frequently called by USC petitioners for inquiries/concerns). we got her trunk line number.

well, we purchased tickets before the interview date. even though i already have a copy of the visa pick-up request, still my hubby was prepared to have one for any circumstances that embassy will require to fax it.. you know, times like this you'll never know what could possibly happen..

so my husband was kinda prepared for any phone -in emergencies..

ooohhh i remember that USEmbassy staff..her name is Lorraine (if not mistaken)..the very famous Lorraine ... she's nice & was able to attend to the questions of the USC petitioners. :)

    goodluck!

  9. When presenting pre-screener with affadavit of support and other evidence do you present it in 3-ring folder or is it presented loose? Must pictures be loose or pasted on paper? Also I will be at interview, and can I also go to the pre-screener?

interview in USEmbassy specifically with the pre-screener is not taking that much time..since there's a lot of applicants to attend with..so what they're doing is that..while asking questions they demand for your documents..so have it in a way - that will be very easy for you to pull out from folders..

there's a lot of VJ members posted on how they arrange their documents, you might want to check mine - http://annie-thejourney.com/?p=77

    goodluck!

  10. huhuhu i went to a social security office last week to get a SSnumber but the lady said as a K1 you cant get one unless you have the EAD with you i showed her the documents i read here that says that as a K1 you are entitled to one and she said that i didnt read the entire thing coz it says you have to have an EAD to get a SSN grrrrrrr

same here..i got my SSN here in Arizona simply by showing my birth certificate, my passport with US Visa & marriage certificate.

try to find some VJ members from georgia & find out how they deal with this.

if you can find a note in USCIS website that says K1 visa holder who already got married is entitle for SSN, then better to show such print out instead from this forum..just a thought..

    goodluck!

  11. I can understand your anger, but past is past and what matters now is you and him and your incoming interview. No need to quarrel, this is the time that you need each other's support so you two can work things out.

right  don't dwell too much on things that happened in the past. Giving so much attention into something that has nothing to do with your current relationship is just stressful.. I know you feel offended of hiding such incident for a while but don't let this stuff ruin your current relationship with him & the wonderful moments in the near future.

  12. Hi guys! :luv:

After a two-long week vacay of my husband in Pinas, we had our flight Feb25 and reached LAX @ 6pm. Biyahe was smooth, Immigration here was okay as well.

We are extremely happy now, and his family too! Though my family in Pinas cried a lot, but they kept it at bay and I called them up naman as soon as I get here.

Actually I just woke up, hehe.. cant sleep that much so cold here.

Now i am searching what to do next, hehe, but we'll give ourselves a week of gala here first...

Anybody knows what should i do next?:yes:

    Viva Vj! :luv:

    -jyz (F)

So, can i have some happy dance here?

    sounds good

we're just there in Cali last Feb 15-17. Yeah it still cold but I enjoyed San Diego so much since there's a lot of filipino restaurant..nice food! I feel like im in Phils again..

enjoy your first week girl..

  13. He told me it is assumed the petition was cancelled coz there's a time limit to respond to the petition and the girl did not like to continue with it. That happened few years back & he did not write an official letter to USCIS asking to close the case. What should we do? Does he need to inform USCIS about it or it happened automatic after no response was made to the case. I am really upset at him for hiding this from me until he has no choice but tell me about it coz it could be asked during my interview. Please help!

my fiance (whose my hubby now) submitted a K3 visa application before with his former wife. When we met & decided to file K1 visa application, he didn't submit any formal letter of cancellation of the previous application. Since, like what your fiance said, there's a specific time alloted to response on any USCIS paper's development. Although my hubby decided to send a formal letter of cancellation (attached with copy of divorce of paper) to USCIS when we received our NOA1. It was the advice my hubby received when he called the USCIS regarding this matter.

Well, in your case "maybe" your fiance needs to formalize the cancellation of previous application ..even it was submitted last 2004..

and he might want to mention in the letter that he's not wishing of any effect of such application to the current one. anyway its not that expensive to send a letter..if in case USCIS find it useless, they can throw the letter freely.. At least, in the end your fiance got to formalize everything.

this is how i see things ..in connection with our previous experience..

lastly, like what others said ..you should be aware of the whole story ..so if in any instance it will be brought up in your interview, you know how to answer those questions (confidently)...

    goodluck...

  14. are there any other fees during the interview other than the vis delivery fee because people at my wife college(LPC) where she teaches keep telling her that they charge a $100 fee for the Consulate. we already paying the document verification ahead of time. i think half the people there are uninformed and that there trying to mislead her (they even tried told her the ds 230 form was wrong the one from the website the nvc sends you.) please note we are cr1 visa not a k visa

together with a help of another former K1 visa applicant, we came up on this list of possible expenses for the K1/K2 visa application.

    http://annie-thejourney.com/?p=287

List can be downloaded from such link for FREE :)

this list is based on our experience & for the current updates. Hope this will help some new applicants here..we just want to share it guys..
