Personal advice:  Do everything to get her on that plane.  If she's allowed to board, that's most of the battle.  Upon landing, she can state calmly to CBP that she has a valid visa AND the guidelines were clear enough to enable boarding.  If the front-line agent hesitates, she should calmly point out that NO flights back to Ecu are permitted.  If there's still hesitation, she should calmly yet insistently ask for the shift supervisor or port director and calmly explain the reasoning.  My gut tells me that she'll be admitted... but it can't and won't happen if she's not on that plane!

I was also early on the coronavirus wave, but when I talked about it to just about everyone, I sounded crazy and alarmist, even as late as March 13. I thought this would be something that complicated life and travel for at least many months. But we didn't pull the trigger. This is a similar situation except now I'm afraid of being denied.

Please don't listen to anybody and just risk it. I was supposed to arrive here by  January 1, but I got sick ( some virus) , and I had to postpone my flight by 3 weeks. When I recovered, I wanted to have some personal issues attended to first, but I suddenly realized, this Covid -19 ( even flights from China were still not banned at that time) could become just as dangerous as the Spanish Flu ( my great grandmother had it 100 years ago  in 1919, so I learned about it when I was still a toddler). I left at once, and I don't regret it, although I was still weak after the infection. Please do the same now.

I'm going a little crazy with this...

I filed my AOS from K-1 and tracking says it got there on March 23rd, so a month later and I haven't received the email confirmation or the letter or anything and now this. I followed all the rules and I know things are backed up right now , but it's scary not to know if I'm suddenly here illegally because the rules changed with no explanation or notice.

I know some of you here are also in the middle of AOS (I am so so sorry for those stuck in the CR-1 or K-1 phase, the frustration and pain you must be feeling would destroy me) but is anyone else stuck in that first pre-step as well? How long did it take to even get a freaking notification that it was received if you filed since January? I filed form G-1145 and nothing

This is just such a terrifying mess

I’m looking for some  opinions..... I am well aware of the requirement of having met each other within two years of filing the  petition.  I went to visit my fiancé in October 2018, and we will be filing our petition within the next few months. But since it’s approaching a year since we have Physically seen each other and  although  we have plenty of proof to provide , I  was wondering if it would be a good idea to try and have another visit before we actually file the I-129 F.  Any comments and/or experiences would be appreciated .

    Hi everybody.
I filed for the K1 visa back in June 2014. My fiance and I met online through a friend on July 21 2013. We were together 9 months before I met him in person. That was in may 2014 and I was there for a month. I'm sure there are more of you out there that only met once since that is the requirement and it does not state you have to visit multiple times. Can any of you share your experiences? Whether you were approved or denied when it came to the interview, I would like to know. Thank u!

I was wondering how many of you guys only met your fiance/fiancee in person once before filing? Did it cause any issues?
I was planning a trip around December to Dubai, but I just moved across the country and got a new job. I won't even bother asking for any time off til 6mo. plus working there and by then I'll have already filed. My thing is, I met my fiance while still legally married (still am, thanks to custody/military/waiting times) so I was wondering should I maybe delay filing to add another visit post divorce being final/more in person proof to our case? What do you guys think? I don't really want to delay anything though...it has already been 5mo since we saw each other
I can most likely make it there for the interview/week before interview if that helps at all. I was planning for that at the very least for moral support.

Nate&Mara reacted to Kostas in Fiancé visa/spouse visa .. meeting the parents requirement?
Long story short , I'm engaged to a Russian girl, we are getting married in July.
I have not met her parents , she tells me her parents will not approve of her getting married to an American .
We've decided to get married without their approval and this is why I have not gone to Russia .
She lives in Russia, we've met and spend a lot of time together in Greece and Italy .
I live here in the United States .
I just had a consultation with an immigration lawyer and he told me that her chances of getting approved for a fiancé visa or a spousal visa are not that good even though we can show them pictures and documents of a real bonafide relationship .
He said the fact that I have not gone to Russia and met her parents will look suspicious to immigration , that it will look like she's trying to hide something .
I was shocked to hear this .
Does this lawyer have a good point ?
Please share your thoughts and opinions on this.
    Thank you !

Nate&Mara reacted to noraliz73 in is a photocopy of the Affidavit of Support OK?
My fiancé has to submit a package of paperwork to his Embassy before he can even schedule the interview.  They want an Affidavit of Support signed by the petitioner.  Does this mean I have to spend the $84.00 to send it by FedEx, or is scanning it sufficient?  Of course, we intend to bring the original to the interview.  I guess I am asking, wet or dry signature...
