Our PD is July 31 and our SC is Potomac. We haven't been approved yet. It's unfortunately not going extra fast, but we got super lucky to get the fastest service center. My guess is that we'll get approved around Christmas time. I hope we all can get approved quick, but it seems that we've all just fallen in line with everybody else with non-IOE receipt numbers.
I wish you the best! I think so too and hope that you get approved by December.
i hope it goes fast for both of us -

Someone else explained it to me in this site better than I can. I’ll see if I can find it.
Even if LPRs get approved for their I-130 fast, they still have to wait for a visa number to become available. Let’s say the US is giving out 100 visa numbers a year but there are 300 LPR I-130 approvals, only 100 of them will get the visa the others have to wait for more visa numbers to become available. USCs applying for family members don’t have to wait, once they are fully approved they will immediately get a visa.
It’s something like that. So don’t get upset if you see LPRs getting approved faster, they still have more hurdles.
Oh ok thanks for your time
That’s true

If that’s the case how come in Potomac SC, LPR cases take longer than USC cases. How come in Texas they’re faster than USC cases. I’m confused.

This is some good news to hear, but I'm going to curb my excitement in case my petition still ends up taking the normal time. Today I got my text from USCIS noting that my case had been received, and my receipt number started with IOE. At first, I was super nervous, since I had expected something that actually lined up with the normal service center denotations. After researching, it seems like this is a pilot program that the govt is trying to use to expedite cases. I'm curious if they just randomly choose cases for this for now, or if there's some sort of selection process for it.
I have seen quite a few of your other posts regarding this topic, and it seems like I'm not going to be able to track the status of my case online. Do you have any specific recommendations for who to contact to keep up with the case if I'm not able to track it online? If so, I'd be so grateful.
Anyway, good luck to you in the coming week on your interview!
Have you gotten approved yet? If so how long did it take and what SC was it at? I’m just curious because I got Texas and it’s been 2 months since I filed and I have a case number starting with IOE, I just hope it goes fast.

what! never heard about that, i did read some of them said their application with IOE approved after 2,3 month only.
finger crossed!! 2 months in Texas center now
You had IOE and your SV is Texas, me too. Have you gotten approved, if so how long did it take for them to give you an NOA2?

But I read that they put USC cases on top of LPR cases, and check their cases first before they check LPR cases.

Marriage certificates, travel documents, photographs, joint bills etc... that’s the stuff they need to see...
Yes, while being pregnant is subsidiary evidence it only proves you had sex, at least once... not a relationship.. sorry, to put it bluntly
It’s fine
I understand what you’re saying, you’re right

It won’t do any harm but the other documentation is what they are looking for.
What other documentation?
Do you mean the birth certificate of our child since they know I’m pregnant -
6 minutes ago, Lil bear said:
No it won’t be a problem but pregnancy/children are not seen as evidence of a bonafide relationship, so it won’t carry any weight.
Oh ok, thanks
I sent in a ton of evidence of bona fide marriage such as marriage certificate, marriage entry, wedding invitation card, wedding pictures, pictures of us together, passport stamps of my travels to him.. so I just sent the pregnancy proof as additional evidence. I just figured I had the paper from the doctor why not just sent it in.
-
When I filed for my husband I was pregnant, I sent a letter from doctor that shows proof of pregnancy to show them we are having a child soon and to also show bona fide marriage. Would that be a problem?

He hasn't got it yet. Embassy has had his passport for a week so far, hopefully he'll get it this week. But our initial i-130 filing was back in 8/2017. So if, Inshallah he does get it this week that'll make 2 years and 1.5 month from start to finish.
I’m really happy for you guys. I wish you guys the best. I just hope mine goes smooth and quick as well.

Thank you! That's good, inshallah you skip the nonsense and get straight to an interview or even approval.
Inshallah,
How long did it take for you guys till he got his visa?

I did receive an NOA2 requesting evidence 10 months after the initial filing. However, during that time I had no idea that there are steps I can take to try and get a response faster, for instance contacting congress reps. I don't know if doing so during that stage of the process would have sped up a response or not. Also, during my initial filing of the i-130, I sent 0 evidence. Again, I was very new to this process and didn't know that I should've sent evidence with the i-130 to potentially have instead received an interview or approval rather than a request for evidence. Although, a lawyer told me that regardless with Yemenis even if someone sent a ton of evidence the first time they always send a letter requesting additional evidence. Anyways, hopefully your process moves faster than ours did. At the end of it all btw, our case never even made it to NVC as USCIS rejected our petition. We ended up asking the embassy if they would allow us to petition directly with them and they did. Now, I'm waiting to receive my husbands visa in the mail.
I did a ton of research before I filed so thankfully I knew what things to send and evidence to send so that inshallah that they don’t send me an RFE (request for evidence). I hope they don’t because I sent so much evidence, both passports and birth certificates of both me and my husband, pictures of us/wedding pictures, passport stamps of my travels to him, marriage certificate, marriage entry, wedding invitation since we had our wedding in a hall, proof of my pregnancy, I was pregnant when I sent the file, so they know that our marriage is real and authentic. The only RFE I might get is our baby’s birth certificate since I sent them proof of pregnancy but haven’t had the baby yet. I just pray and hope that they approve me so that I can just do the interview, because after I do the interview, I can finally travel back to him. I hope it goes fast, but idk I feel like since it’s Yemen a travel ban country that it’ll probably take a long time until he gets his visa. Also congratulations I’m so happy for you guys!

Trump's public charge rule that was set to start oct 15 has been blocked. It would've penalized immigrants living in the U.S who were using government assistance. His other ruling however on not granting visas to those who they believe will likely become a public charge is still set to take effect on Nov 3rd. Although, I read elsewhere that it is expected to be challenged in court soon as well.

I see that you’re ir1/cr1 case is at Texas service center. I also filed the same case and my case is also at Texas service center. Have they gave you an NOA2 yet and if so how long did it take?

Yes they will allow you if you have your passport on your hand.
Oh that sounds good, what about our daughter will they allow her to go in if we have her passport in hand too?

If you go with him the day of the interview, the chances of getting the visa for your husband would be greater.
That’s what I’ve been thinking about doing, but would they allow me to be with him during the interview?

So glad to have found this forum. I applied for my husband in April of 2016 and he got his interview in October 2017 and have been on AP since. Last update was on feb.28 2019. we are from Yemen and filing through Djibouti. Is anyone else stuck in AP for that long?
Congratulations!
Hey,
How long did it take you to get an NOA2? I petitioned for my husband, he’s from Yemen too. My priority date is August 23, and I received a NOA1 a couples of days after. Now I’m just waiting for NOA2. Also, did they schedule you (petitioner) an interview after the NOA2, because I have a friend who got an interview and usually the I-130 only interviews the beneficiary. I’m just curious because i want to travel back to my husband but Im worried if I travel they end up needing an interview from me.

What country is your spouse from?
There are some countries where “unofficially” they want the USC partner to attend interviews. Read up on the embassy where you spouse will be interviewing.
But to be clear, this would be after your petition is approved and the case is sent to the embassy.
He’s from Yemen
oh ok

During the I-130 spouse petition
Does the petitioner get an interview at some point during the petition?
