I totally agree.  Also when you visit, make sure that phone does not go off at night and ringer is on.  Also see how he treats you.  Does he bring you everywhere with him, and if he talks about money, explain that you are struggling yourself and that you don't have much money to pay your own bills. See if he sticks around and stops asking you. And when you go visit, make sure you are not paying for him his family and friends to eat and drink while you are there.

    Hello Good Morning,

Get a free consult with an immigration attorney.  You may still get your permanent GC based on abandonment.  You are still currently married, yet it was drugs that led him astray from you and going into rehab.  It is not like you got married, came here and automatically lived somewhere else.  Again consult a lawyer.  I had a fried who married only for a GC so of course the marriage did not work out.  He was actually with me in relationship for five years and living with me shortly after getting married.  When they wanted to deport him several years later, he got a law school student to represent him(cheaper in price) and he was granted permission to stay unfortunately he had no status in other words he could never travel outside the US.  But he is here living happily.  You case is unique, people get divorced and can still file for themselves.  You need to have some sort of supporting documentation that he was in rehab, and just chain of events during your first two years.  Again consult an immigration attorney.  Most of them offer a free consultation.  Best of Luck!!

You want to know whats even worse so a couple of days before I was to leave the status went from AP to Issued!  Okay so I called and asked do I still need to come in for the interview and the lady told me yes.  I get in at 4am and go straight to the embassy for the 7am appt.  Get there no name on the list so sat and waited with another couple that was there for the same thing for 30 minutes.  Finally a lady comes out and tells me I did not have to be there because the visa was issued! and it was sent over to DHL the day before! SMH!!!!! You know by now I am really trying to not cause a scene.  She told us to just go over to DHL and asked them nicely to look for it.  After almost not getting into DHL due to no tracking number, my husband came out with his VISA in hand.  They are a mess over there.  I am so glad I am done with there process.  SMH.  No home with husband and so happy!!

    Hello my friend,

first of all if you got to visit and you have never been to jamaica stay at a hotel of your choice.  Can you tell me what parish he is from?  Look out for signs of asking for money too soon after meeting.  See if he has you speak to family really like mother father grandparents.  Call him at different hours of the night to see if he answers his phone. Look for no excuse for the phone to be off.  Dont let him start asking for you to put credit on his phone, I am sure he was doing it before meeting you.  I can tell you alot of tricks especially when it comes to the jamaican man.  But I will say there are a few good ones out there as well.  Hope this will be one for you.

Just use common sense.  Meeting his family isn't always a sure sign of authenticity, as many a family member are willing to lie and portray if they could possibly benefit.
They will tell you you are the greatest thing on the planet, anything you want to hear.  Keep your eyes and ears open.  Don't be blinded by love.  Jamaican men are charming sweet talkers.  Keep your head.  Take it slow.  Talk about everything, but most of all watch his actions and behavior.  When you visit stay with him.  Hangout with his friends and family.  Observe.
There are many a sad Jamaican story here and on the internet.  Use the search tool.  Use google. Educate yourself on the culture and customs.

A bit of patience for a record that has been lost for three weeks.  I bet if it was a paycheck you would not have patience!  People were sending emails after me and email was responded to in days.  my email I am getting returned still after more than three weeks unread.  My job email keeps specific track of emails sent out.  So you tell me unread emails what result do you get.  There are people stuck in AP with no explanation after the time frame indicated.  What are they supposed to do just sit around and wait?  Another person they tried to say the medical was not there and she knew it was. She had them look for it and low and behold that was mysteriously found as well. No its not all about one person, its about the process in which they are handling peoples records and paperwork.  I went to the interview with my husband was interviewed by the IO and guess what. he never put into the system that I was there. Because of his negligence I have to go back for an interview, yet they are still issuing visa.  Now at this point I will not have patience.  They are having me make another unplanned trip at my expense because of their negligence.  No I will no longer be patient, cuz now you are messing with my finances and time off from my job and arrangements for a sitter.

Well alot of people want to immigrate to the US for a better life especially coming from a place like jamaica.  Jamaica is hard and some want to migrate here make life and really earn an honest living.  Then you have some that want to come and run wild.  Some people dont like the suffering that goes on.  When people of have dreams they will yes talk of their dreams.  I have plenty of friends that wanted to come to the states but prefer to come by way of family members.  They dont want a wife because rumor in jamaica is that you migrate and you will end up on the street no where to go no family nothing.  So its a 50/50

Your engagement ring represents a true relationship of plans to marry.  It is traditional to have an engagement ring prior to getting married.  That will actually show proof that he is serious.
