  • Our Story
My wife and I met a middle school where we were more acquaintances than friends. I pretty much knew all her friends as she knew all mine but we never hung out much at all or really spoke to each other. We just knew of each other. Unfortunately, as I was going into high school her dad would get deported and she and the rest of her family would voluntarily go with her dad back to Mexico. At this point, I was in the 8th grade and she was in the 7th grade. 6 years had gone by and at this point we were 19 and 18 when we reconnected on social media instantly remembering how we went to middle school with each other and reminiscing. Even then we were still just friends becoming best friends at that point because we were both still hung over our exes. However, the whole time I still had the hugest crush on her and was falling for her more and more each day and little to my knowledge she was just waiting for me to make a move on her as she was falling for me at the same time. I finally make a move and ask her to be exclusive in a long-distance relationship with me and she gladly said yes. From there on we had a long-distance relationship for multiple years that consisted of me traveling to Mexico every chance I could to spend time with her and her family. In April 2019 I would propose to her and apply for the K1 visa so we could finally be together. In the midst of that process she would become pregnant with then our first child of two. It was pretty scary at first because everything was going smoothly and her visa interview was an April 2020 which was then canceled due to Covid and at that point we had no idea when her next visa interview would be scheduled, which obviously had us worried since she was pregnant. After constantly checking visa journey and Covid updates in regards to visas, I have had enough being away from her and applied for an expedited visa emergency interview which was then approved and scheduled for September 2020. Her visa was finally approved and she came to the US on September 16 2020 and we would get married the next day. Since then we have had two kids and have lived in Washington and now back home in California and couldn’t be happier .

  1. I just want to remind everyone to stay patient. IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT. I remember when COVID for started up and it canceled my wife's initial K1 visa interview less than 3 weeks before we were scheduled to go. I remember what is was like being on the website constantly looking for news and updates on our situation and when we would be able to be together. We stayed patient and pulled through. YES IT WAS ROUGH. However, just like many of you, there is nothing else we wanted more than to be with each other. Fast forward to today and my wife has been with me for almost a year now and we have a beautiful baby boy together. I KNOW ITS TOUGH. I KNOW ITS FRUSTRATING. But the only reason it is THIS tough and frustrating is because you know how AMAZING it will all be when it happens! HANG IN THERE PLEASE! DONT GIVE UP! YOU'RE LOVE IS WORTH IT!
