I did my swearing in yesterday at an elaborate ceremony in Manasas VA. RIght after the program, I went to the Post Office and put in for my Passport. I wish everyone luck in the process.

I discovered this forum way too late - I only knew this existed about one week ago - when I was getting worried about my oath ceremony. But since then, I have literally come here every day to read everyone's posts/timelines. When I read about the good news, they gave me hope, and I am so happy for those who already completed the journey. When I read about how people were just waiting and not knowing when it would happen, I could totally relate to the anxiety and frustration. I wanted to share my timeline just to show my appreciation. This forum has given me so much information!
 
3/4/2019 - application submitted
3/27/2019 - biometrics taken
6/24/2019 - case was transferred from MD office to DC office
8/12/2019 - interview was scheduled
9/19/2019 - interview (approved on the same day)
10/25/2019 - oath ceremony was scheduled
11/13/2019 - oath ceremony in VA

My Oath ceremony is slated for November 5, 1pm at Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manasas

Oath Ceremony on 7 November @1:30pm at USCIS in Fairfax!

So I just got my notice in the documents tab and my oath ceremony is Nov 12 at 8am at the DC Courthouse.

I just had my interview this morning in Fairfax office and everything went very smoothly! I was approved on the spot and the whole thing took 15-20 minutes.
I didnt have to wait more than 10 minutes after the scheduled time to be called in.
The officer was very friendly and pleasant. Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of the way the interview went.
 
English test:
-Write "The people elect Congress"
-Read "Who elects Congress?"
 
Civic test :
    1- What did the declaration of emancipation do?
    2- Who is in charge of the executive branch?
    3- If the President can no longer serve, who becomes in charge?
    4- Name one state that borders Canada
    5- Date the Constitution was written
    6-What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?
 
I got the standard answer when asking about the Ceremony...will get an invitation by mail within 4-6 weeks but maybe sooner. The officer said they dont handle that part so she doesn't know timing for sure.
I live in VA and didn't request a name change. Will update here when I get the Oath date.

I will have my interview in 2 days...will keep you all posted!

Passed the interview today - approved on the spot! We will wait for the oath ceremony date - hopefully it is soon!

It shows 3 ceremonies in September. I wish they would show the rest of the year as well..

hooray! received notification this morning that our interview was scheduled - do not know what the date is yet. What great news!
