Olislusan got a reaction from midsummer in July 2021 - AOS Filers
    Nothing really!
I contacted USCIS, talked with Tier 2 Officers not once but way more, and they said my case is all ready papers signed and just waiting for an appointment. We are now reaching 60 days, and still, there is no communique from them. It is really hard when left in the dark!

Getting the Marriage Cert in NYC is a liiiil bit of nerve wrecking. But hang on tight! I'm sure your MC will be sent soon. Be faithful and a lil more often of pushing to the city clerk I guess ?

    Best of luck! ❤❤

After a long silence, the U.S. Embassy in Algiers will start re-issuing visas for Expired Immigrant Visas, Expired Diversity Visas, and Expired K1/K2 Finacée Visas. The embassy will not issue any new visas until the end of the Presidential Proclamation (10052) due 12/31/2020.
The road seems long for now, but I hope it'll brighten up for the upcoming weeks.

I received an email additional email from Chile embassy today and got A definitive answer! They are only processing a very limited amount of emergency visas for now due to covid, and will resume processing other visas when they're able to open. 😖 They also stated that k1 visas will not be affected by the EO and asked me to check back next month for appointments.

For your Embassy there is information here: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Algeria&cty=Alger

The fiancé(e) K-1 nonimmigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen. The K-1 visa permits the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) to travel to the United States and marry his or her U.S. citizen sponsor within 90 days of arrival. You can learn more about fiancé(e) visas on usvisas.state.gov.
Once your file is received at post, an instruction package will be sent to you by email. First you need to pay the visa fee at one of Aramex offices, and then you have to register and schedule a K-visa appointment through the online appointment system at
www.ustraveldoc.com/dz. Assemble the required documents that are listed on the instruction package. Schedule a medical examination with the Embassy-approved physician in Algiers at least 15 days before your visa interview If the visa is issued, your passport and documents will be available in approximately 7-10 business days at Aramex office that you already selected for pick up or delivery. If the visa is refused, the Consular Officer will provide you with further information. https://dz.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/

A Military Certificate (with translation) or exempted notice is required at the interview.

As published in the PDF Times, you will read that it takes about 30 days from the time you are notified from USCIS with your NOA2 to NVC. It takes NVC another 1-3 weeks to assign the case number. Once a case number is assigned, you fall into the shipping schedule, and that could be the following week or somewhere in the three-week window. NVC does not send notice until your case ships and is on it's way to the Embassy. You, any lawyer or anyone else can move your file any faster then the current conditions permit.

During these times, everything is slowing down. You have to understand that priorities are being set, and a yahoo mail is far down the list of "need to do." It's all hands on deck, to get what they have now with the limited staff to keep cases moving.

With the embassies closed down and no interview, what is the RUSH to get a case number? There is very little you can do with it. Sure, complete the DS-160, pay your fee, but that's where you BUCK$$ is going to stop. That's the end of the road.

So set back, stay busy, and, most of all, stay safe. Now I need to turn the page of the PDF Times and get caught back up on the comics section.

    We'll dive deeper together.

Here is what is happening. You have two packets; one is the electronic form and the others is the paper form. When NVC sends your file to your embassy they send both a electronic and the paper. Electronic arrives first and the paper arrives based on the shipping schedule at NVC. Which now is every other week. If you follow CEAC you will see two ready conditions. One for each means of transportation of your files. The ready does not change but the date will change. It's the second change that you see which gives you a clear light to proceed based on the embassy instructions and or their P3.

This is one of the things that I hate about FB groups. Members there that are mostly newbies and no veterans to ascertain if the information is correct or just hearsay. With VJ, you have a whole host of "boots on the ground" that can help. Prime example is you came here to get clarification from experts. Now I need to come up for air.

The US closed all embassies in countries with Level 2 travel warnings and higher for "routine non immigrant processing"so there will likely be delays for all of us. Our interview in Japan was canceled last night.

I heard Greenbaum has created a handy dandy cheat sheet to answer those questions. I heard him say he was tired of answering the same question over and over so he set out to create this PDF that gives you all the answers to these questions so you can be on top of your case alllllllll the way to your embassy. He asked me if it was true "you can lead a horse to the water but you can't make him drink." Well the PDF file is on the first page, first post and has the answers to these questions, you just have to do the work and read them.

Update on DS-5540 Submission K1 Interview (US Embassy in Singapore)
The local officer here collected the completed form,  wet ink & dated - along with my fiance's 1095c form & a photocopy of his insurance card, both front & back. He looked through it briefly, no questions asked & returned my other documents.
Hope this helps a little & Good luck to all!

    Some further info below:

on the DS 5540 form: clarifying some issues from my experience
For qn 4a , I indicated YES, and filled in "Employment provided Health Insurance - coverage under *fiance's name* to begin approx. *mth*
With Part 3 regarding household size, I filled in the names of my fiance and his daughter, the nucleus family i will be living with there (Thanks to @Greenbaum 's advice here!)
With that, supporting documents I included were
1)1095c form, from my fiance's employer (it details the Employer provided offer and coverage)
    2) A photocopy of my fiance's insurance card: front & back
    3) My tax statement from IRAS SG (returned)

    Hello fellow VJs,
We (my fiancée and I) got our NOA2 on January 28th, and now we're waiting for NVC step to get our case number -- for those who want to know, I'm from Algeria.
Even though I was searching everywhere for next step's information, your .PDF file is a great help!
Thank you so much for your professionalism @Greenbaum, you are a gem!

Olislusan got a reaction from Kidayi in W-2 doesn't meet the criteria
Does anyone know the W-2 forms work when taken to the interview. My fiancée recently got theirs, however they've only been in this job for a few months so the total wages doesn't amount to meet the 125% criteria. Is anything else taken into account so there isn't a denial when it comes to the financial support. Do they take into consideration about the other earnings to come in the upcoming months? Or they will only accept the wages given from the recent W-2?

Also, what are the documents to gather for the the Affidavit of support?

Olislusan reacted to eirinlinn in W-2 doesn't meet the criteria
@OlislusanIf this is for your I-134 then If I understand correctly you only have to be at 100% poverty level in order to qualify as a financial sponsor, however when you are dealing with the I-864 it will need to be at least 125% to be able to qualify for financial sponsorship. I would rely on the current job and statements of wages on that job and bank statements since they probably only care about your sponsors current financial situation.

Olislusan reacted to Crazy Cat in W-2 doesn't meet the criteria
W2 statements reflect what was earned during the PREVIOUS tax year.  Current income is king when ability to financially support a new immigrant is considered.  That is why employment letters, current pay subs, etc. are used to prove current income.
