Green Card dates and right to Apply for Citizenship
JeanneAdil replied to edaesq's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
they haven't gone up yet -
Marriage 3/16/2022 you would need to enter after 3/16/2024 if getting the 10 year card is important , reschedule and do medical sometime after beginning of January giving u 6 months to fly in from date of medical hope the embassy does not reschedule u for after April 15th as that would require 2023 tax returns

too many unknowns for any of us to say and it would be only guessing but u need more quality time together check your income beside the poverty guidelines how much is health care insurance in Illinois? any kids to claim? any divorces? big age gap? Do u have a joint sponsor if embassy says u need one? we don't need to know the above but u do At the petition stage its all up to USC to prove the relationship At the interview stage the bene must prove he knows u well enough for CO to say yes

One important thing is to realize that the authorities have a tough decision to make in a short time. The more you, as an applicant, can do to recognize and allay their likely sources of doubt, the better the odds that your case will be approved./ Authority in this case is the CO in embassy who interviews and makes the decision to approve or deny a petition Important factors 1. non citizen is from high fraud country 2. Income 3. Time spent together 4. Ages 5. Divorce(s) 6. Being able to support the beneficary for AOS process and while waiting for the EAD so he can work which includes buying health care insurance 6. Any of the red flags / a good list is on following site https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/red-flags-that-make-uscis-suspect-marriage-fraud.html Most Co's in high fraud countries do ask "when were u last together ?" and many of us try to be there for emotional support for interview even when we can not attend / the non citizen can say "she's here now" If you have not been able to afford another trip to Nigeria since 2021, CO is going to wonder how u can afford the $1225 to AOS here in the US and pay for his upkeep for a year or more and purchase health care insurance (u need to check the cost of this in your area)

Supporting Documents
JeanneAdil replied to Jalan's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
if u are the beneficary and children are overseas, each child needs his//her own if translations are done by a certified translator , no need for notary no apostle needed for any of the documents -
this may interest u not sure either why marital status needs to be on the certificate at all but yours should say single since u applied under 5 year rule even the word annulment is not needed https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/foia/Data_elements_on_Certificates_of_Naturalization-Ballout.pdf

When do Medical Examinations Expire?
JeanneAdil replied to A031's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
All cases go into AP till visa is issued or denied CEAC site will say refused till decision is made and yes , if AP goes past the 6 month medical date, she will need a new exam /embassy will notify if the embassy approves the visa Did she interview in Ankara? if so, it probably will be a longer AP -

Just checked the US embassy Thai site posted by Dashinka another vote for CR1 as it is so much easier to marry there than what some others of us go thru to marry abroad no need for Utah zoom BTW CR1 is cheaper in the long run as immigration is intending to increase the AOS fee process in USA to $2820 from $1225 Best to all 3 of u and congratulations on the baby to come

Department of State says it is https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/immigrant-visa-for-spouse.html Is Residence in the U.S. Required for the U.S. Sponsor? Yes. As a U.S. sponsor/petitioner, you must maintain your principal residence (also called domicile) in the United States, which is where you plan to live for the foreseeable future. Living in the United States is required for a U.S. sponsor to file the Affidavit of Support, with few exceptions. To learn more, review the Affidavit of Support (I-864 or I-864EZ) Instructions.

case was sent to embassy and they will schedule it when there is an opening all the expedite did was get it to the embassy/there are still others ahead of yours already with appointments u need to be ready at "the drop of a hat " to schedule medical exam and have all documents ready so the AP is not long Previous post asks question 'what to do now' USC gets the I 864, and IRS transcripts and proof of US residency to Moroccan spouse , have spouse gather moroccan documents /not copies but originals /i mailed from USA via USPS overnight (10 days Adil had them) all that to be ready when the embassy notifies u of the interview email notice of interview, print it out to take to embassy documents needed should be on the notice from embassy also on the Casa webpage Trust the following site / there is an old site which is not correct as its not updated https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CSB-Casablanca.html

JeanneAdil replied to Public Charge 101's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
when booking the flight make sure it is one ticket with layovers ONLY with a valid US visa most layovers do not require transit visa but if your itinerary says flight to (say france) and then pick up ticket from Paris to US , u need french transit visa otherwise all boarding passes given at place of departure are needed BTW some Canadian international ports do US customs and immigration (Toronto and Montreal do)
