thebrokenmando reacted to JosephRose in TB test again upon arrival to US
Hello there.. I am a filipina living now in the us.. I had same experienced with you.. I was also sputum on Feb 7 to 9 this year but thankfully results revealed negative on April 16 2018(despite not knowing the result yet, I rescheduled my medical and interview appointment in advance. April 12 was supposed to be the day I will come back to St. Luke’s for the culture results and vaccine but I didn’t go. But of course I emailed St. Luke’s informing them I couldn’t go on that day and they replied to me that I can go there any day I can if I can.).. Anyway, I was very confident I’m negative and after hearing from St. Luke’s my confidence go higher and with it my fiancé rescheduled my interview right away and got the April 17 (6:40 am) spot.. So I walked in to St. Luke’s April 16 in the morning to get vaccine.. It was successful, during the release of my vaccine.., they didn’t give me the brown sealed envelope which is normal for all sputumed applicants, they send it directly to usembassy, they just gave me only a printed copy of my vaccine...SLEC releasing officer told me I made the right and wise move to reschedule interview ahead of time despite not knowing my culture results yet because my medical is only valid until July 06 2018 which means I must be out of the country before that day. Or else I will have to redo sputum test in the US again. Cause all applicants who got sputum will have shortened validity of their medical. I flew here in the US, on May 16, 2018.., applied for SSN, got married at court on June 5, waited for ssn to arrive in the mail before sending our (AOS,EAD,AP) packet and it arrived around 3rd week of June, originally submitted (AOS,EAD,AP) packet on June 25 but got rejected because our I-485 was old version (our packet was returned to us but it was arranged in their way)... followed their instructions, corrected the mistake without touching other stuff.. after correcting, resubmitted it right away..., a week later around 2nd week of July, finally received 3 noas for AOS, EAD, AP.. few days later, received another noa that contains my biometric schedule.. I did my biometrics on July 30... I was really worried that due to our case got rejected, they might rfe us for new medical or ask me to do sputum again but so far, they didn’t.. Checked our status online and saw that as of August 06, our case ready to be scheduled for an interview.. as of now we’re still waiting for the schedule and instruction that they saying they’re sending in the mail..

Regarding your case, I think they’re asking you to do sputum again because your medical is no longer valid.. you say you did your sputum on Feb which is the same month I did mine.. So most likely , we have the same validity as well.. If I had applied for AOS after July 06, I would’ve do sputum again... anyway..., just sharing my story to help you get some perspective.. Who knows in the future they still might ask me to do sputum again before I could do my interview..

Cheer up friend.. everything’s gonna be alright..

thebrokenmando reacted to geowrian in Medical exam trouble, can we get extension? Please help!
Contacting USEM to extend it is not required, but won't hurt either. They will extend up to a year fine w/o a specific request to do so.
Do not try to attend the interview w/o a medical - you will likely be turned away at the gate as others have been who tried this.
The above 2 items are specific to USEM - they may or may not apply at other consulates.

Each embassy has different procedures. What is good for Germany may not be the same for the Philippines. Which is the case with your reply. If the medical is not completed before the interview they will be turned away to only to be compelled to complete the medical and reschedule the interview. Just saying.

You don't need to contact anyone,  however,  if you are compelled to contact someone,  it is the IV unit at the consulate via email

Do NOT schedule interview and show up without proof of completed medical.

That is why specific consulate advice is important.   The OP will be turned away at the gate if they show up without proof of completed medical.

Manila automagically extends the petition validity

I think you should go ahead with the test, schedule and attend the interview without the test, then inform the consular at the interview that the results will be out in 8 weeks. As far as you have started something with the embassy, your petition will be automatically renewed. If you do nothing they will send you a letter that your petition has expired and then nothing can be done. Authernatively you can contact the embassy immediately and let then now what's going on and see what they would advice you to do....Goodluck

Once it's close to expiration send USEM a courtesy email letting them know  your circumstances. They usually automatically extend but a courtesy email would not hurt you.

Yes USEM usually does it. But it would not hurt to shoot the embassy  a letter  requesting it to make sure. We did that same thing.  Always  better safe than sorry.

Yes, it is possible to get the validity of your I-129F Petition Approval Notice extended. I thought it was automatically extended but apparently not always.

If you are compelled to do any, then you should visit the Philippines regional forum where all your Manila specific questions will be answered by members familiar with the idiosyncrasies of Manila

I would think that you have gotten that answer from a few of us so I would probably believe that is current and correct information. Especially since we all have interviewed through the Philippines at one time or another.

sorry your not getting many responses here, im kind of in the same boat for some dumb stuff that happend to me when i was 11 in 1997, im unable to provide records because my record was expunged, so a lawyer advised me to just write a statement about when and what i was charged with and what my punishment was and include it with my I129f, which i did. its got me worried that its gonna cause problems but im trying to stay positive.
