  1. Hi everyone, K1 fiance visa holder here,

My wife and I married within the 90 days specified on my I-94 and are just completing the AOS forms. My question is this: is it perfectly okay for me to file for AOS after my I-94's expired, or must I do this within the 90 day period?

Sorry if this question's been asked before, but I'm a little confused and, obviously, very keen not to make any mistakes!!

  2. Hi,

I was just wondering which forms I need to complete for my UK and Hong Kong (HK) police certificates, and how I might access them?

I've found the Police National Computer Form (Form 3019B) on the Metropolitan Police website. Given that I live in the London area, is this what is required?

I also spent a few years in HK, so if anyone's got any experience of applying for a police certificate there it'd be great to hear from you.

    Thanks.

  3. I think a few people have reported no problems despite having the wrong sized photos with an initial petition, but nobody here can guarantee you won't get an overzealous inspector who wants your photos to meet every letter of the specifications.

The only thing you can do now is get the proper sized photos and have them ready in case you do get an RFE for them. But be aware that they may not be needed.

There's no good way to send them corrected photos (or any other info) before they request it via an RFE. If you try sending them some unsolicited information now, it's unlikely to make it to your case file, and there's even a chance it could delay things if they do try and pull your case file.

thanks lucyrich. that's good advice and we intend on following it by getting the correct kind passport photos taken tomorrow, just in case).

now you'll have to excuse my ignorance here but, what exactly does RFE stand for? and if you get an RFE, is that horribly detrimental to your case? and what sort of delay is an RFE likely to impose on an application?

    thanks. :)

  4. thanks for the speedy replies, guys.

i just checked and the passport photos were indeed british sized 1.5" x 2" - it's encouraging to hear YuAndDan that this caused you no problems. :) i wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?

DakotaK1 yep, ours were taken with a white background as well (and i didn't smile either ). however, while we did write our names on the back of the photos we didn't date them - jeannie doesn't remember reading that this was a requirement - could this be a potential problem?

... god, who would've thought filling-in forms could be so nerve-wracking! i need a lie down. or a beer. actually i'll just have a beer.

  5. soooo, we sent our I-129F away in mid-march and now realise that the passport photos we included in our application are of a british size, rather than american.

does anyone know if this is likely to cause problems processing our case, and if so what kind of problems it'll cause? also, is there anything we can do right now to remedy the situation? :crying:

    yours anxiously,

    jon and jeannie.

  6. if your doing the K-1 , then yes just get someone that makes 125% above poverty level, have prrof or w.e. on having met and file the petition an have patience and good luck ^_^

hi. :) just a couple of questions (and this goes out to everyone):

    1) does 125% above the poverty line = $17,112 (annual income)? and,

    2) if you have two willing co-sponsors (say, for instance, a set of parents), must at least one of them induvidually earn above $17,112, or is it sufficient that their collective incomes together surpass that amount?

    cheers.
