  1. hi everyone!! our interview is tomorrow for the k1 visa. i know everyone’s experience is different depending on the relationship the embassy etc. i was just wondering to hear about your experiences in the interview. how long did they take? how many / what questions were you asked? did you both speak (if you attended ). many advice ?? i am so confident but also so nervous because of the formality of it.

  2. I filed for the K1 visa for my fiance but we seem to be getting info back about the marriage visa. I know some forms are different and what is required to bring to the interviews can differ. When my fiance went to his medical appointment they gave him a list of things to bring for the interview and it seems to be the forms for the marriage visa. Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone confirm what they brought vs what was needed at their interview (in other words what did they look at or ask you for)?

    Thanks!

Joint sponsors are for I-864 only. The I-134 may allow co-sponsors, but not always. It depends on the embassy.

Are you saying your fiancé makes less than 100% of the federal poverty level for his household? That would worry me more than anything else. Does your embassy allow co-sponsors?

I am the one filing for my fiancé. I am a student so my income in right below the requirements. I am just graduating next month and have a job that now meets the requirements but don’t start until a week before our interview and it won’t be solid enough proof. I heard that they don’t require it until the AOS but now i’m worried.

To summarize it in basic terms. you/your joint sponsor are responsible of your fiance financially until they receive their citizenship or leave the country or die.  divorce doesn't grant you freedom, you brought him here you take care of them. period!

I guess I am just confused because we already split finances...he will be working and having to contribute so I’m just confused if there is like an extra thing i’m missing. my joint sponsor is worried they will be paying fees

We did Cr1, but vaccinations are required also. If your fiance has his medical records for his injections, they may or may not take it. My husband had to get the flu shot, in addition to the MMR, it escapes me the other injections, sorry. Yes the medical is very expensive.

thank you! how far dated can the medical records be do you know? can it be from within the past year or so?

  6. Hi everyone! What vaccinations does a male need for the medical exam before the interview for k1 visa? we are trying to get all vaccines before the medical appointment to avoid high fees. any advice? Also this is for santo domingo dominican republic.

  7. hi everyone! my fiancé will be arriving soon and i was wondering if anyone did any certificate programs while waiting for the work permit? my fiancé would like to get involved with a trade but the programs seem to be more timely and costly than we expected. Does anyone have any advice or good career paths that they have chosen? We want to feel financially stable but i don’t want him overworked as an immigrant. his english is great.
