KateP got a reaction from absolut.. in OCTOBER AOS 2018 Filers
This is a very supportive group of people who filed in October and are getting frustrated with the process. We share anything we did that might be useful to someone else's case and offer support during the wait.
You guys have kept me sane over the past 7.5 months. We'll all get there

I feel you! Someone in the forum said they were scanning the cases before theirs and I started looking at other immi forums but they all just caused me more pain. My advisor at the college (as I'm changing from student visa to green card) said this is a new policy that USCIS is requiring the cases to all be given much greater scrutiny but yes this should still mean scrutiny happening in chronological order! The lack of logic is definitely the most upsetting thing. I don't mind waiting in a line as long as it seems like a fair line...
I heard something about government changing immigration to a more points-based system. I believe this is something Canada and the UK already have so maybe in the future having a degree, career and multiple job offers will mean something! No comfort for us right now though.. Nikki you said your husband has a pretty good job? Mine is working for the county so we get good benefits but it will be a serious struggle if I can't also work after June 3rd..
My congress person said it's still within normal processing times (as we know the website is not accurate) and the senator said my case is under 'extended review' on Thursday. This threw me into a right tailspin. Hopefully it's just the green card and the AP/EAD will be unrelated. I am going to ask them to find out what that means. I'm worrying now that I sent too much information in initial package - affadavit from my parents supporting marriage, photos etc... maybe they are overwhelmed by paper!?
My only comfort right now is feeling relieved we decided against the party. My mother was getting pretty hard to deal with so at least I don't have to have any more arguments about flower arrangements, seating plans, dresses, hotel rooms! Ha. My husband is also pretty glad he doesn't have to go through it all again. I had 5 guests from UK at Minnesota wedding.. but it was small and nice actually. A glorious sunny day.
Anyway, thinking of you. We'll get there. I'm learning to code in the wait... haha

Hi Ira,
I'm new to the forum but have been gaining silent comfort for the past 7 months (Ridiculous. Lol. Receipt date Oct 23rd)
Just wanted to say, we had the same error message on my RFE for I-864. I panicked a lot and checked my photocopies of everything I had sent. Yes I did send all the pages, and yes it was the correct most-up-to-date version (the one on USCIS website is the most recent). This message is a default message I believe and it just covers all possible errors. For our case we hadn't included tax returns for the last 3 years but they didn't ever say that on the RFI!
Hope that helps you. We redid the I-864 form, included 3 year's tax returns and my husband's verification of employment letter and paystubs. We're now at 'ready to be scheduled for interview' but no other updates. Did you submit your EAD/AP application at the same time as the I-485? It has been a long time for you!
Hang in there folks and thanks for all your positivity and advice throughout the waiting!

Sorry to hear this Nikki. We just had to cancel our wedding 'blessing' back home as well - but I was super hopeful and it was all planned for June 1st! That is NOT going to happen. October is still possible no? Maybe you feel like we did that it is too much stress not knowing. You gave it 1 year which you'd think would be time enough. Jeez this is brutal.
My RD is Oct 23rd and I just had same error message from submitting case inquiry. Have you been in contact with congress representatives/senators? I got responses back from both of them, although it hasn't changed anything on my case. It was nice to talk to some real people trying to help
