pittfiler got a reaction from jxn in N400 May 2022 Filers
It’s determined by the time you finish your interview. If the officer approves your case before 2:30, yes it’s same day oath. It’s done in a large group with people approved weeks before.

Approved on spot at San Francisco. However, we just passed the last oath at 2:30, so we need to come back again another day.

Just like that. With honesty and what documentation you have. Assuming you emailed the rental company requesting more info, i would include those emails

Checked the data and reports from USCIS. I751 backlog has been consistently building (Jan 2023: 12k received, 10k approved, 240k pending)

That´s a correct observation. USCIS quarterly reports also confirm with this trend at SF. Straigtforward cases are processing quickly.

I think fee increase is fine, just like inflation. I just find it hard to justify 751 for increasing from about 600 to 1200. 15% increase is understandable, 100% is not. It puts 751 to the pricy end of their forms, but 751 is still a low priority and takes ages for some. I have no opinion on premium processing. For me, I would probably choose a cheaper and slower option, and thus, 600 is a lot, even though I didn’t pay that.

Wow, that's crazy! We all know that I-751 cases are very low in USCIS's priority list at the moment. If this happens, hopefully USCIS will finally prioritize I-751 cases then. Unlikely but one can only hope lol. I'm so glad I'm done with all this. I wish everyone going through this the best of luck! 🙏

The USCBP at that crossing doesn't know what "conditional" is

It's not Canada. It's the US border agency when I returned.

pittfiler got a reaction from OldUser in Traveling on Extension Letter?
Wanted to add a data point for border crossing.
1st CAN->USA: officer spent 5 minutes reading documents carefully
2nd CAN->USA: the whole agency doesn't have anyone understanding ROC process and questioned the validity of my card. Spent 15 min at the office for secondary inspection.

101%. A steep and completely unjustifiable increase, and massively out of proportion to the other proposed fee increases. Speaking of which, the I-290B fee is also increasing, as is the N-400......and also the I-130 and I-485 for any possible future relative petitions.
However, the biometrics fee is decreasing, from $85 to $30. How kind of them.
Note that these are all proposed increases, not confirmed as yet.
I look forward to getting rinsed by USCIS for my inevitable future filings.

Same field office and timeline here. I'm also waiting for interview to be scheduled. Hope it's not a long wait.

pittfiler got a reaction from PRC Rabbit in I-751 Biometrics fee
Page 2 Item 1 clearly states that you must pay biometrics upon submission. It is the "USC" and "LPR spouse" who doesn't have to. Although rare, what it means is, if they need the citizen one's bio, they will send notice for a second fee.

I haven't heard of USCIS using phone number for things other than texting you case number when they first received it.
