Fennik got a reaction from dandeexjvy in APRIL 2020 AOS FILERS
These are the stories that cause me to yell at the USCIS customer service reps. My stuff is also at the NBC and they claim they handle them "in order received" I haven't had a case update in 9 months, have called in about 20 times since and will be calling again this week.

Congratz that your stuff is all getting approved. Can't wait to call them again and tell them everything they say is BS. Sorry if I sound like a cynic but this website kind of brings that out for us unlucky individuals.

My status retrograded FROM 'Ready to be scheduled' in January to "Fingerprints were received", all the while processing times have spiked and we're facing potential furloughs. It's going to be a bumpy and crappy ride.

Interested to hear if anyone else has had any different experiences

While I agree with you, there’s a systemic issue when similar cases across the board can take drastically different time frames. If you scroll through the thread from October, you will find far more people that already have a scheduled interview than you will that don’t.

it’s also naive to ignore the fact that USCIS operates as inefficiently as most other government organizations. Many times, the result of your timeline is who you get as an agent. Whether is McDonald’s, Apple, or USCIS, there are employees who dislike their job and move slower.

Also FYI - calling is the only reason our case has moved along for almost every step. When you call, they open your case and take a look and with enough frustration they escalate the case to an agent who can actually make actions on it.

It's extremely agitating when people who filed weeks after I did already have their biometrics appointments scheduled. There might be multiple lines, but everything should pull from the same queue, and performance issues should be managed internally. We all paid the same amount yet receive different qualities of service. I am aware we are talking about the US government but this is some of the problems people are referring to when they say the US government is the most inefficient organization on this planet..

I will be calling up next week, but I am sure I will simply get the "nothing else has been mailed out" response. It's incredible this process can take 10 months in total for some people and literally 3x longer or more for others. I wish everyone here the best though!
