There is no magic number that you can apply in this case. It REALLY varies!
Just keep your finger crossed and hope for a fast approval.
The only good thing with CSC is the approval will be without any interview.
Good luck!
It has been known, occasionally, for cases to be re-transferred from CSC to another office where an interview is then held.

And in so many ways, the interview is the most painless part of the process anyway.
Your experience was painless, others report otherwise. It really varies on the Immigration Officer holding the interview etc etc
Oh, of course. Very few people I know (on here and in my non-internet dealings) had issues. I guess it's just perpetuated by the government and other sources to be such a scary, awful thing, that when I was done, I said "that's it?" It was easier than waiting and waiting for news from CSC would be (for me, I'm high strung though). Approval one way or another is all that matters though - I didn't even care our IO was borderline rude after she said that word
I was transferred to CSC last September and still no GC, so 8 months for me.
Good Luck to you.

Hi all... thanks for the replies. The problem is The montreal local police directed me to IFS Canada, International Fingerprinting Services of Canada and they have to submit a request for poilce clearance on my behalf. The problem is the police are refusing to write me a '' letter of good conduct''
that's what they told IFS. The reason being is that I am no longer a montreal resident. ??? another thing they told them is that the request must come from an official body; such as USCIS directly to the Montreal police. IFS will be asking them for a official letter on the reason they cannot issue me a '' letter of good conduct''.... I guess I will have to submit the local letter from New Jersey to say that I have no record, and see what happens... This process is insane...btw IFS Canada said that they have never seen a request like this before.... i am so sick of waiting...

Hi All, Question for you. I am a Canadian citizen, came to the US On a Fiancee Visa and started the adjustment of status process last August.
Case was transferred to CSC in September 2006. Since then I went on 3 seperate occassions for biometrics. I received a letter last week for RFE stating:
'' The applicants fingerprints have been twice rejected as''illegible''. Additional evidence is required in order to continue processing the adjustment of status application. The applicant has submitted a Canadian Police Certificate issued by the RCMP. Therefore, please provide a letter issued by the local law enforcement agency ( county sherriff's office or local police department) indicating the applicant has '' no criminial record''. The Record search should include all names the applicant has used in the past. A seperate letter is required for each law enforcement district in which applicant has resided in the past 5 years,
Do you think I need to have a separate letter from the local authorities in Canada above and beyhod the RCMP letter OR do they just want a letter from the local police here in the US, since I have been here ( about a year) . I am so confused. HELP! This process is drving me crazy.....
