I am watching Interstellar at the moment, probably same sort of technology. I was going to watch Terminator...

I actually have the old version of the Amika brush, which does not have the red beam tech. So I can't report first hand, sadly. The description says:

I had never heard of red beam technology, what does it do?

I find Olaplex just takes too long and the results are usually disappointing. I have gotten something close to "glass" hair even with all the frizz with a combo of Dae Signature shampoo, Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water, Elizavecca treatment, and Oribe Gold Lust hair oil. Blow completely dry with my Dyson, and then finish with the Amika Polished Perfection straightening brush. Sounds complicated I'm sure to the menfolk but it really isn't!

Oooh good tip thanks, I have super frizzy hair and usually use Olaplex, I'll give that a try.

I have to wash Matilda, I was going to do it today, but cold and snowy. She loves bacon so the pig collagen would not be a problem.

Our cousins just passed their N400 interviews.  They are husband and wife that came in 2019 on DVs, so they applied under the 5 year rule.  For some reason one of them was only asked four questions.

I do agree, many N400 applicants have a better grasp of US civics than many natural born USCs.  No reason to make it harder at this point.

Reminds me of the Driving License test, mainly general knowledge. Perfunctory.

Now I have come across people who seem to have a very limited grasp of the language and wondered how they passed.

Is the citizenship test hard? No. But should it be? Not.. exactly. The fact is many if not most Americans cannot even answer the questions asked, so why should it be any different? For some people, having multiple choice answers could be easier, than having to memorize an exact answer. The fact is, all of us that have been through it with our spouses are relieved that they got through it, and wouldn't want it to be harder for them. Studies show that immigrants-new citizens are even more civic minded, educated about the country, and enthusiastic about being American, compared to those naturally born here.

I think where some immigrants have an issue, like my husband for instance, is years of going through the stress and mess of this process, getting to citizenship and realizing "is that it?" It's a weird sort of apprehension, relief, and stages of grief. I reminded him that to become an American, isn't about needing 'pomp and circumstance', ordeal, and fanfare to belong here. Everyone in that room is on a level playing field and deserves to be there and there's beauty in the simplicity. The promise of America is that anyone can be American. Does answering six questions correctly make you any more or any less American? I'm sure many tests have been failed due to nerves rather than not knowing the subject matter.

Takeaways from the scathing appeals court ruling denying immunity to Donald Trump

In a striking 57-page unanimous opinion, the panel of three DC Circuit judges wrote that that the justice system allowed for a former president to face charges for actions he took while in office, and that the public interest in holding a potentially criminal president accountable outweighed any potential “chilling effect” on the presidency.

Former President Trump lacked any lawful discretionary authority to defy federal criminal law and he is answerable in court for his conduct,” the judges added.

I used dried Colman's last night, making a rub for the tri-tip I roasted. I mixed equal parts good quality flour (I like King Arthur) and Colman's, then pat it all over the roast, really working it into the flap of fat on top. Some salt and pepper, and roast it in a cast iron skillet on top of a large onion, cut in half. Afterwards, the onion makes for excellent gravy right there in the skillet. It was sensational (as always).

I am a big fan of wholegrain mustard, but I also like a good Dijon.

This is your regular mustard a jar costs about a dollar. Occasionally you see Colemans here which is the brand name but a lot more expensive.

I am out of dry mustard which is a good boost to vinaigrette.

Dry mustard has the advantage of increasing in heat after being mixed.

There are a lot of different varieties of mustard out there at various stores.  It is interesting, there are a lot more options for mustard than ketchup.  Look for whole grain mustard.

Bristol Farms, usually, sometimes Gelson's. Not crazy about the selection at Whole Foods, tbh. Speaking of Whole Foods, I went to the one near my office the other day to get prepared horseradish and they had only one kind! Bananas, since even my local Vons has 6 or 7 different varieties. We ate it anyway, even though what I really wanted was the super hot one, the kind that temporarily makes your vision go dark when you take slightly too big of a bite.

Count me in as another ketchup hater. 🤮 Too sweet and it masks the flavor of the food. I agree with Dashinka -- mustard is a superior condiment. With french fries, I prefer mayo or aioli.

We have had husband training school here over the past few years, and I have to say he has really improved. He 100% used to do things like smear greasy stuff all over the counters with a paper towel, because he honestly didn't know better. There was always some woman (mother, wife, cleaner) taking care of things for him, and when he didn't have one of those he kind of just... lived in semi-squalor? (I do not like thinking about the "divorce flat" he was living in before he and I were in a relationship.) But now while he still doesn't see how the sink is dirty where I do, he's pretty decent about keeping the kitchen counters and the cooktop clean. I did have to point out how filthy his bathroom vanity was the other day (I was hoping he'd notice) but I will give him his due -- he grabbed a roll of paper towels and the bathroom spray and took care of it with no moaning. Why? Because he's an adult and because he wants to keep his wife happy.

I still can't fathom how the ketchup challenge qualifies as news.

All I can say is taste.  Back when I was a kid, I loved ketchup, but as my tastebuds evolved, I could no longer stomach it, not really sure why.  I tend to wince when I see someone putting ketchup on their scrambled eggs now.

I truly hate ketchup.  Mustard is the only condiment worth talking about and I would be a little upset of folks were wasting it on some silly CCP challenge.
