@OldUser and @Bavarian91
Yes, I tell myself that all the time. There is no logic and pattern to USCIS. There are too many factors and they just do what they want. LOL
Sometimes I just get bored and try to "figure it out".

This is a a generic thing, it does not mean there is any actual movement. Technically, all of us are within that status, it just shows up for some versus others.

No. Only a US citizen can petition a fiance. Green card holders can petition spouses and children.

Our window opens in September 2023. We are in school right now, so we might wait for Spring 2024. Definitely not rushing into it, but unlikely we will wait the full presidential term of forever Potomac is taking. Haha

Overall, nothing under 10 days should be a concern (at least in my opinion), especially if you register for informed delivery and check your status across the platforms. I hear you. I am the same way. I definitely want to be cautious and aware. But, at the same time, I cannot just stay and never travel outside of the US for the long-ashhshs wait at Potomac. I swear I can have a child now and send it to pre-school before I see anything on the I-751.
And, yes, people, we know we can apply for the N400 bla bla, but money-wise we rather "live our life" right now and education is a priority. Haha
Congratulations! Thank you for the questions.

Thank you! It was easy. Not really even an interview but just the civic questions, simple reading and simple writing. No document were asked--just my greencard and appointment letter. The lady was super nice. After everything's done, she just confirmed my info and told me to come back for the oath taking in 3 hours. Saved us a trip!
Civic questions were:
1. President now
2. Years the president is elected
3. Chief justice now
4. Ocean near the east coast
5. Power of state 6. Who serves when Pres and vice pres cant.
We're just napping here at the parking lot while waiting but I'm just too excited for this to be over!

He can't stay longer than 6 months on a tourist visa though, so best to petition for him asap and get him in the queue for an immigrant visa as well.

I disagree with your claim that that is what the guides are saying.
What you have screenshot does not say what you claim it is saying.
https://www.visajourney.com/guides/us-immigration-guide-for-children/
“Married sons and daughters (any age) - Your son or daughter’s spouse and/or child(ren) may be included on this petition.”
Child has a specific meaning in U.S. immigration law. You needed to (and need to) read the companion guide:
https://www.visajourney.com/guides/us-immigration-for-children/
“The immigration law defines a 'child' as an unmarried person under the age of 21 (a minor) who is”
But let’s set aside visajourney guides and go to a primary source:
https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-eligibility/green-card-for-family-preference-immigrants
“If you are the spouse or unmarried child (under 21 years of age) of a family-based principal applicant, you may apply for a Green Card as a derivative applicant. For more information on derivatives and eligibility for adjustment of status, please see USCIS Policy Manual Volume 7, Part A, Chapter 6, Section C, Subsection C - Derivatives.”
Your grand children are too old to be derivatives. Realistically, if your son gets a green card through you, and then applies for his children, they might get immigration visas in 30 years from now.
NVC takes over case, and visa application, I-864 must be submitted, police certificates
NVC then schedules interview.
Applicants get medical examinations, ideally before interview
After interview and approval, visa issued. Applicant has 6 months from date of medical to use visa.
After getting visa, pay immigrant fee (aka green card fee)
Enter U.S.
Apply for SSN, DL, health insurance
Receive green card

Looking at 20 years for F3, then Citizenship etc then more than 20 years again, so when we get into 50 years plus I give up.
