Hunter & Robyn reacted to Selina A in September 2019 AOS Filers
I had my interview today at 10:15
They called us twice, first time for fingerprints and picture
After 35 min of waiting, they finally called our number for interview.
The officer started asking me( the beneficiary) first
where did you meet ?
When? how many times did you meet ?
when was your husband born ? where ? where exactly ?
what s his job ? what company is working for ?
was your husband married before ? how many kids does he have ? when do they visit you ? what are their names ? their ages ?
does your husband have siblings ? where do they live ? what are their names ?
How many bedrooms and bathrooms in your house ? what s the exterior color of your house ?
what s your current address ?
did you visit the US before ? on what visa ? what did you study ? where ?
and then he asked me for pictures and if we have any other proofs of relationship ( I printed about 50 pictures and he looked at every picture )
and then he started asking my husband
when was she born ? where ?
how many siblings she has ? their names and age ?
where did i go for school ? what s my major ?
what was my parents name ?
and then he started asking me the yes or no questions about criminal stuff.
He gave us a paper where it says that the green card is granted and he explained the ROC process.
The interview took about 30 minutes.
I am so happy that I am taking a break from this process.
my status changed today around 4pm to New card is being produced . anyone had an idea when I could receive it ?

I went to the SSN office and applied for mine with supporting documents right after receiving my green card.

@nyj215
My dates are very similar to yours. I have heard nothing either about the EAD or AP. The only thing I can reason is they are not finished with their checks whether background or whatever. Just like with the K1s some couples get approved super fast while others struggle through with extra long approval times. Hard to understand makes little sense. I feel you though I'm right here with you. Coming up on 5 months in a few days.

It's like salt on the wound every time I get the email updates from VisaJourney that our AP and EAD approvals are past due.

We got our appointment letter today for March 12th in Anchorage.
Perfect timing for us.
Thank you USCIS
P.S. I complained to my wife, why we couldn't see the appointment date online and had to wait for snail mail. She responded, because they want to make sure we live here.😁
Smart gal

Updated to Interview Was Scheduled! 😮 EAD and AP combo card will be arriving Monday. I'm interested to see if the interview will be in the San Francisco office or whether they'll send it to Sacramento or San Jose office. Really happy!

Successful interview in Raleigh, NC yesterday. We were in and out within an hour. Didn’t get that satisfying ‘approved’ at the interview but got a status update of ‘new card being produced’ about 20 mins after leaving and got ‘case approved’ update this morning. Officer very friendly, just asked questions from I-485 to confirm names, dates and how we met etc. Good luck to all still waiting!

My husband's interview was today. We showed up at 8:50 to our 9:15 appointment and was given a number. They called two couples ahead of us that got there after us, so I started panicking that we missed our number or something. They split one couple up. But our number was finally called and our officer took us back to her office. She had notes written down from his file, so I think she went through everything. We swore in and I actually didn't know what to say so I had to let my husband say something first so I didn't look stupid lol. She confirmed some information in our paperwork and asked him all the yes/no questions. She looked at our birth certificates and marriage certificate but didn't ask for any copies. She then asked us
When we first met
Describe our relationship progression
When did we start talking about marriage
Describe the proposal
Describe the wedding
Who all we had from our family there
What our most cherished moment was from the wedding
Any trips we've been on since he's moved here
Then she told us to give her any proof of relationship we had. We only had a bunch of photos and our car insurance letter since he doesn't have a SSN and my small town requires that for everything and we live with my mom so everything is in her name (which we explained to her). Then she asked us if we had any questions and I gave her a copy of the IRS transcript for my joint sponsor (because I only sent in the H&R block version since I didn't know you could print it directly from their website). She then said we'd hear the decision in 2-3 weeks but everything looked good from her end. Kinda bummed we didn't get the approval at the interview but we hope to hear something soon.

My interview was supposed to be tomorrow. Just had a phone call from USCIS saying they don’t know where my case is and they’ll reschedule me once they get a hold of it.
Ugh.

Within around 7-10 days, after they mail you the letter tomorrow/this evening. It took me exactly ten days to receive last month, most likely because of Christmas holidays falling in between. Don't forget to subscribe for the Informed Delivery service of USPS.

I had my interview today. I waited for an hour. The lady only asked me about info from the I-485 form and how we met. She asked if I have any pictures, I brought 6 and showed them to her. She didn't ask for any supporting documents but when she asked me if I have any questions I asked her if she wants all those bills, bank statements and insurance papers I had with me. She said sure so I gave her everything I had just in case the person who will review the paperwork after her can see them.
At the end she told me she will recommend me for approval. Over all it took around 15 minutes.

I had my AOS interview of 9th January.
I was approved on the spot. It lasted not more than 10mins. The IO said, since we were filing based on K1 visa, there's no need to proof marriage relation
Hence, we just went through the form I-485 to confirm the long eligibility questions. After that he told us he will click on approve and then we should get my card within 10 days.
I received the approval notice today January 13, waiting for the card. God Has been good...
Time line

NOA: September 12
Biometric: September 30, 2019

Something strange just happened, my case status changed to Ready to be Scheduled. It had recently said I have an RFE, but hadn’t received the letter yet. Maybe it was a mistake on their part? I’m not complaining though!

Not a clue, I’m thinking they may have lost something because I went through my package thoroughly making sure everything was there.

Thank you! Unfortunately, we will be getting a RFE, don't know why. So, now the wait begins and anxiety attacks. The RFE was for the GC. I wonder what it is.
2020 not to a great start. We got RFE for GC.

While using this webiste during my visa journey, I learnt a lot from a person here, whose nickname is Sarge.
He had to deal with a lot of issues at the beigning of the K1 process. it was disheartening to see that we all moved foward towards the next step with an embassy interview, and visa issued, and entering to the US, yet his fiancee couldnt make it until several months after us.
Sarge dealt with the process graciously.
I think he made me realise how important is to take care of our mental health, and to take care of ourselves during this process.
We need to be well and with good standing and good energy for getting a proper job, and for integrating into the american culture.
I feel the pain, I feel the anxiety, I feel the sadness, I feel the angerness I know ... but let´s take care of ourselves.
We deserve it.
