I don't have 'personal experience' with this, but as the consular phase of the process is all about your fiance -- meaning you won't be receiving any correspondance again until AOS phase. By then, you would have already moved so you can just put the new address on the AOS forms.
You may want your fiance to put your new address on the forms he fills out for the consulate - assuming you will know the new address by that time.
Thanks for the info TracyTN, I'm not sure what effect it will have, I am the beneficiary and so it might affect things from what you have said.
I'm going to try and stay here as long as I can, hopefully, I will have my visa in hand before I move which (I assume) means I will be OK.
Thanks again

Hi
I have received my NOA 2 (woo-hoo) but I may have to move house in about 8 weeks.
If anyone has personal experience of this, please will you let me know if it affected the rest of your K1 process or if it still went OK?
Many thanks

I just hate the arrogance and smugness of these kinds of things as if it "proves" anything at all!
Firstly, if a Professor was having this discussion I very much doubt he would be so awe struck at a student debating the issue but would relish the chance to openly debate it, it's not Professors who do not want to debate the issue but the fanatical religious zealots!
Secondly, it only proves that religion is an individual choice. Having faith in God does not prove God exists, however, one can "see" how evolution has altered and still alters life in order to adapt to environments by all the proof just laying around in the earth and in museums.
Finally, most atheists I have met are quite happy for religious people to believe in whatever they choose to. Their choices are not "anti" anyone at all. The same cannot, however, be said for some of the religious people atheists come into contact with, who appear to feel they have the right to demand full explanations about the whys and wherefores of atheist thinking with NO real answers to their own beliefs except "blind faith".

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the
problem science has with God, the Almighty. He asks one of his new
Muslim students to stand and.....
Professor: You are a Muslim, aren't you, son?
Student : Yes, sir.
Prof: So you believe in God?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Prof: Is God good?
Student : Sure.
Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student : Yes.
Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to
heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But
God didn't.
How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)
Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is
God good?
Student :Yes.
Prof: Is Satan good?
Student : No.
Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student : From...God...
Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student : Yes.
Prof:! Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything.
Correct?
Student : Yes.
Prof: So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)
Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student :Yes, sir.
Prof: So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)
Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and
observe the world around you. Tell me, son...Have you ever seen
God?
Student: No, sir.
Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student : No , sir.
Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God?
Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student : Yes.
Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol,
science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.
Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof: Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof: Yes.
Student : No sir. There isn't
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat,
superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we
don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero
which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is
no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the
absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is
not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as
darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of
something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light,
flashing light....But if you have no light constantly, you have
nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness
isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness, darker,
wouldn't you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue
there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God.
You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something
we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses
electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully
understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to
be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive
thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.
Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they
evolved (Student is from a monkey?)
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process,
yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize
where the argument is going.)
Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution
at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going
endeavour, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a
scientist but a preacher?
(The class is in uproar.)
Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the
Professor's brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's
brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?.....No one appears to have
done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical,
stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain,
sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures,
sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face
unfathomable.)
Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student : That is it sir.. The link between man & God is FAITH.
That is all that keeps things moving & alive.
So, as they are BOTH correct, what is everyone fighting about??

thay update the site to day 26 april and the put 18april , the put old date
I noticed that too - it definitely said "15th March" up until today! I think they just put the next month irrespective of what they're processing anyway. According to the timelines on here etc, they're up to end of Dec, poss even some Jan filers at the moment.

When I first joined I was a complete nutcase. Trying to find answers about Immigration can really be a nightmare. I had been led down so many different roads and given so much conflicting advice, I didn't know what to do. There is so much to learn about this process- I will always have questions. Some things I may not know even after reading the Guides. The guides are great, but advice and opinions from others who have been through it is better. Also sometimes I may know the answer but still need confirmation about it.
When I first joined here- it took some time to get to know the Board as well. Back then I didn't know the difference between CR1 and K3 and K1,etc so I didn't always know where and how to post.
I am pretty patient with newcomers, I know what it is like to feel so lost and hopeless.
Besides, what ever happened to the old saying "No question is a dumb question?"
Here here!!! You and me both (nutcases that is!) I felt totally lost and miserable when starting this process (apart from the excitement of what I am trying to achieve with my fiance of course). I am planning a wedding and a huge life change by moving across the atlantic, leaving all of my family and friends (including my son) behind. I feel like I have an imaginary friend because I am doing it all on my own as the time we can spend together is so limited. When i found this site, as you will see from my first ever post, I was overjoyed. All it took was for some dimwit to become annoyed when i added a post asking about february NOA 1s and received a very disappointing response from one person. Although all the others ranged from OK to fantastic, that one kept making feel that even here I was isolated.
Basically, if someone is actually taking the time to write "CHECK THE TIMELINES", how much more effort anf time does it take to write something along the lines of "welcome, you may find that the timelines and other info on here will help to answer your questions". An extra 2 seconds? If that?
Anyway, my summarised point about all of this is: If new posts which seem obvious are just SOOOOO offensive to those who, quite frankly do seem to have an awful lot of time to answer so many "obvious" questions, then click onto something else and don't bother with it. I am sure we would all be much happer getting one polite post directing us to the areas we need than 6,7,8, capitalised posts ordering us around and sounding very unfriendly. It would be interesting to know exactly how these people found things when they started and just how many "stupid" questions they really asked at the start!!
This post wasn't just started due to my experience, it was in response to other posts I have read to others questions and as we are all here for the same reason, it can't hurt to be nice as sometimes it is the more cutting things which stay on one's mind.
Thankfully, as I have said, most of you are pretty damn gorgeous and I thank you for all your positivity and generosity.
-
Well, the thing that I have noticed is that when a member here DOES respond politely, takes time to write a reply and gives great information, that there is quite a lot of the newer members who don't take the time to thank that person either.
It's a two way street IMO; it goes both ways (obviously!).
The other thing I find is that the guides are just that, a guide. They shouldn't be quoted here there and everywhere as the golden ticket to USCIS. They should be used alongside other information, mainly from the USCIS sites. Yet they are treated as the be all and end all by some. Yes, they are helpful, they helped me, but they are not the only source of information available.
Excellent points there Mags, thanks for that (taking your point on board there....eh?)
But seriously, i think your point about the "guides" is a great one and just because they are there (an useful as they may be), other people on here may have different experiences, comments, ways of doing things etc etc.... otherwise what is the point of having this forum? why not just have the guides on a site and no way of communicating at all???
-
I think sometimes many new members want the answers and the process spoon-fed to them. This is not a helpdesk...we can help each other out, but it's up to the individual to take full responsibility byfamiliarizing him/herself with the process.
amen sister lisa
Don't answer them then, do something else. I'm sure no-one asks a question just to annoy you in particular!
-
I must say that most people are wonderful on here, but SOME sound rude and irritable when answering new people's questions (you know who you are) and I, for one, feel saddened by this when I see it.
Some of us are just rude and irritable by nature
Don't take it too much to heart.
*LOL* I'm not that thin skinned, just wanted to make a point. Thanks for making me laugh
-
Uzume,
It isn't only new members who ask obvious questions or questions that are asked numerous times every hour. Some people simply don't look for information, their nature is to ask questions without regard to whether or not the information is readily available. Other people like to read a lot, and ask questions only when they've exhausted all of the sources that they can find.
Looking at it from the other side of the issue, some people are happy to respond to any post no matter what the question and whether or not they know the answer.
Takes all kinds, I guess.
Yodrak
I'm getting a bit annoyed with the way some people respond to questions from new members.Just because they may seem like obvious questions and may have been answered a hundred times before, just because they are answered in timelines etc etc etc..... this process is daunting for everyone and we all need support.
Have you considered the fact that maybe asking an obvious question might just be the only way to introduce oneself when new on the site? Also, although thousands of people are applying for the same visas, we were all new and unsure when we started this.
I must say that most people are wonderful on here, but SOME sound rude and irritable when answering new people's questions (you know who you are) and I, for one, feel saddened by this when I see it.
Hi Yodrak,
Many thanks for your reply. This is exactly my point - why bother replying if it's all such a waste of time for someone? Just leave it to those who are happy to do so without being terse or impatient.
When i first joined, I read a lot of the stuff on here but, as a human, missed some bits, as others obviously have also.
Reading through some of the responses here, I had to laugh as someone said they "hate these kinds of discussions" and then gave very lengthy response whilst others responded in a way that can only mean THEY didn't read the post properly - not a criticism as it proves my point beautifully when considering the amount of information to take in at the start of this process when directed here, there and everywhere.
- so yes... it certainly does take all sorts. I would think that it makes sense to reply to posts one wants to reply to and not reply to those of no interest - perhaps i am missing something here but responding to what one feel demands a "spoon feeding" reply just to be terse or "show them" in some way seems a little odd and, (dare i say it without someone responding with "I hate answering posts about spoon feeding with terse replies" before delivering a tome) juvenile.

Me and my fiance r scared to do something wrong. we already been separated for 4 month and want to do everything right the first time so we can be together again asap. online u find tons of IMMIGRATION LAWYER that do it for a flat fee, but i am worried about scams.
Is anyone using an ONLINE LAWYER?
Meant to add:
We didn't use an online lawyer as such, we did find the info online but they have business premesis and do other cases too. We contact them on the phone etc and they are members of the BBB (better business bureau) in the USA.

Hi
We did use one but are now regretting it. It's not that they have done anything wrong, just that for the tiny amount of work they did, it seems we paid a lot of $ for very little work (and nothing we couldn't have done ourselves). Like you, we were worried about messing up but there are so may helpful guides on here that had we found this site sooner I doubt we would have bothered.
The only advantage I can see is that part of the fee covers the appeal if we are denied, like any insurance, we hope we don't need to use it. Apart from this... waste of time and money in my opinion.
Obviously, only you can decide what is best for you.... good luck and I hope it all works out for you. :-)

I see nothing wrong w/ telling someone to read the guides or create their timelines. Timelines are essential because how can we help them when we don't know what visa, when it was filed, etc etc? Guides are essential because you'll find 90% of the questions one has when new to the process in there. No one has the time to answer the same questions that are answered in the guides 200 times a day - if there were no guides, that's what we'd be doing. I don't find it unreasonable to ask people to read the guides to educate themselves to make the process easier on THEM and so that simple questions don't overshadow those that are unique, harder to answer issues.
I am not talking about WHAT people are told, just how. Each to their own, I know but there's nothing wrong with sounding friendly when people join the site however "silly" someone may feel their question is. I think my first post points out what I mean, I have read a couple of posts (and received one when new myself), where some people sounded very chiding at asking a question. Now I have had more time to explore, I have found the areas I need, at the start, I didn't know. If I can find the posts I read I will include them as an example if needed but I am sure you get my drift (?)

I had to have the MMR shot too since I have never had mumps. I was told that when I go for the medical exam for AOS, I will need to get another MMR shot. I believe you need 3 shots in order to be fully immune against MMR.Hi, I have been to get my vaccination history from my doctors for my fiancee visa today and I had my tetanus while I was there. The nurse told me that I will probably need the MMR as I only had rubella and measles when I was younger and not mumps but that I had to wait a month for the first jab and then had to wait a further 3 months for the second one. I can't wait that long - it's been long enough!!
Does anyone know if this is true as I have read different things on this forum?
Yes, MMR is one shot, and Jomo's Girl was correct - as far as I know, its Hepatitis which is 3 shots, my nursing friend needed them.

(L to R) Zara Care, Carole Olver, Danielle Olver, and Ferenza Olver
outside Plymouth crown court in Devon. Photograph: Anthony Devlin/PA
Four "callous" women who forced a pair of toddlers into fighting and filmed
them as they punched each other today escaped jail sentences.
The women, all from the same Plymouth family, goaded the boy and girl
into hitting each other until they cried, and called the boy a "wimp" and a
"faggot" when he did not fight back.
The incident was filmed on a video camera and discovered by chance by a
person, who reported it to social services, Plymouth crown court heard.
When interviewed by police, one of the women said: "I didn't see any harm
in toughening them up - I done the same with my own children."
Zara Care, 29, Carole Olver, 48, Serenza Olver, 29, and Danielle Olver, 19,
were today given 12-month sentences, suspended for two years, after
admitting child cruelty charges.
The eight-minute film was "shocking to watch", judge Francis Gilbert said as
he passed sentence.
"You laughed at them, you mocked them, you swore at them," he said. "You
compelled them to hit each other even though they clearly did not want to.
You were cruel, callous, clearly causing the children to hurt each other for
your own pleasure."
The video shows the boy and girl - neither of whom was identified in court -
in tears but still being shouted at to carry on by the laughing women.
At one point the boy, wearing a nappy and a T-shirt, is cheered for repeatedly
hitting the girl around the head with a magazine, before a hairbrush is thrown
into the room to be used as a weapon.
When the boy cries after being punched in the face he is told "not to be a wimp"
and to hit her back. At another stage he tries to get away by climbing into an
armchair as the women urge the girl to punch him again.
When she does, the boy is urged to fight back, but says: "No, I don't want to."
Care pleaded guilty to causing or procuring the children to be ill-treated in a
manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury. The other three admitted
jointly inciting the ill-treatment of children.
Ughhhhh.... disgusting vile filth!!!
ALL children have the right to be protected and valued.
VICKY POLLARD LIVES!!!! (In Plymouth!)

"You may have to file a fresh I-129F and follow all the rules this time. This process has zero tolerance for error."
Is this some kind of sick joke?
I hope it is...
but still... I did open the envelope I wasnt suppose to open - so something might and should happen because of all the rules etc.... or am I wrong?
I am just worried and scared that I destroyed something good now. Stupid me!
Pleaase STOP beating yourself up over this!! We all make mistakes and this can be rectified as others have said. Don't allow it to mess up what should be a really happy moment for you.
ENJOY your good news, go and get it resealed and CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm certainly not going to give you a hard time for something like opening an envelope and I would hope, unless there is anyone on here who has NEVER done anything a bit daft, no-one else will either.
Good luck and I hope all goes well for you. (once again, I re-iterate - ENJOY, CELEBRATE!!! PARTY!!!) xxxxx

I got a phone call thursday morning that my visa was ready and I could come pick it up in the afternoon.
It was a very emotional moment, I was about to plan a visit to Clara, but knowing that once again I'd have to return made us both sad,
and then this phone call lifted all the sadness in one bright stroke.
When I arrived thursday afternoon the embassy was closed ... a new ambassador had been appointed and he wanted to hold a meeting,
so they were exceptionally closed earlier.
When I came back to the car, someone had hit the door. Also the parking meter stole my money by an error in the machinery and took 5 €
for one hour parking. Luckily the car has full insurance, but I went home without visa after driving for hours in heavy traffic and with a big
bulb in the door of a new car. I felt like crying again
Then friday morning, I went by train, I entered, and they just handed it over to me without any more questions.
The brown enveloppe has ink stamps in the back with transparent tape over it. Is that the way they seal it? I havent touched it, but I'm concerned
if that will be accepted at PoE ... it looks amateuristic with the tape beiing a little loose at the end of the enveloppe. This is the first time i see it,
so I'm not sure if this is how its supposed to be or not.
I'm leaving in 18 days, on may 8. I'm finally getting also a little scared for the big unknown ... but im also very excited.
CONGRATULATIONS....... Wow, must be an amazing feeling, I'm excited for you!! B)

Trying to reply one more time! Go here http://www.met.police.uk/dataprotection/faq.htm#timeWell, Marlon I am sure has not requested his police record from the time that he lived in England. I keep mentioning it to him. So what I would like to know is how he would go about doing this? Is there a website? Thanks!
This is directly from the US embassy:
HOW TO OBTAIN A POLICE CERT FROM THE UK:
"you are required to obtain a statement from the National Identification Service, Subject Access Office, Room 331, New Scotland Yard, Broadway, London, SW1 0BG. In order to obtain the required statement, you should apply to your local police station, where you will be given the application forms. When completing the application form, the applicable category is "prosecution/conviction history". There is a 10 pound fee. The local police will submit your application to the National ID service and the response to the application will be sent directly to you. The national ID service does not accept application from individual applicants; the request must be made through your local police. Under the legislation, if will take at least 40 days to receive this document."
I'm not sure how you could get one if you aren't in the UK but I'm sure there is information about this online. Maybe even the New Scotland Yard office website would have information on this.
Our police cert took 22 days from application to receive, just for reference. If you can't find any information online then just Scotland Yard and they can tell you how to do it, I'm sure.
Good Luck
Hi
Did you get your police cert before receiving your NOA 2 etc?Or is it better to wait until all the forms arrive?
Thanks

Thanks for the info - and to TraceyTN too - (I should've stated I was beneficiary...didn't cross my mind). :-)
