EliLA reacted to Ed&Midori1031 in Does "evidence of ongoing relationship" actually help?
Only evidence that is required is the initial application, providing proof that you and your fiance physically spent time together, this includes plane tickets, hotel receipts, pictures together, passport with stamps, etc. I'm sure you've heard this whole speal before, sorry if I'm repetitive. When I went with my fiance to her K-1 interview, I brought a binder full of "proof of ongoing relationship" items. I visited her 3 times in Brazil before going to her interview, so I had an abundance of plane tickets, hotel receipts, lots of pics together, plane and tour itineries, anything with our names together on documents, and the interviewer didn't ask to see anything. So is it really required? no. I do recommend bringing more proof of relationships items to the interview, because you never know the mood of the immigration officer. "Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it."

I am not familiar with CR-1 cases so I tend to avoid answering. I can recommend that you post your question in the https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/134-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-case-filing-and-progress-reports/ link with is the CR-1 thread just like this is for the K-1 group.
Also, this is embassy specific questions so you should find the thread where that embassy's discussions are taking place.

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I was wondering if you have any idea on the following info:
Thank you
Asking for someone I met through a Facebook group .
CR-1 case
after four months of being in AP her status change to “Refuse”
She was in AP for mistakes that were done on the Affidavit . She then corrected it and submitted it again, right away. Now her status at NVC says Refuse. She called embassy and embassy told her to wait for email which will tell her when to pick up passport and further instructions ... is this the end of it ??

EliLA reacted to Lil bear in PLEASE Help! New in USA in abusive relationship
I beg to differ. If she attended any of the counselling services available under VAWA , and tells her story .. she will be clearly identified as a victim of domestic violence .. broken bones and bruises are not the only evidence of DV. Take a look at the VAWA website for a better understanding of the fullness of DV and then reflect on the OPs narrative .. it lines up in multiple sectors. This is Domestic Violence

EliLA reacted to Mococatx in US Visa Interview with a 221G Administrative Processing Result
So we had sent our additional documents June 4 and I received an email stating they were received
We heard nothing from them and I waited the 60 days (that I read about somewhere but don't remember where now) and contacted them asking if there was anything else needed and when we might expect an answer.
They replied saying that they never received the documents. 🤦♀️
Resent the documents last Friday, received another email saying they were received Monday and got a phone call from them today saying they were getting ready to approve the visa. My fiancé has also received an email asking that he send in his passport to receive the visa. He insists on hand delivering it! lol
So two months of waiting for nothing, basically, but everything is finally resolving! No more Now we can !

EliLA reacted to kvalam in 221 G after K1 Interview in Mumbai
We submitted our 221g proof on Jan 25th and they approved it Jan 29th. We got email to submit passport on Feb 2nd but we never got the email so we didn't submit passport until Feb 15. We got issued on Feb 22. We are going to pick up visa this week.

EliLA reacted to BrendyLee in US Visa Interview with a 221G Administrative Processing Result
I am surprised by this because they should have done all background checks on me before they even made an appointment for my husband to leave the country. He went to his interview and had all of his documents. Maybe if I was white with blue eyes they wouldn’t have focused their attention on me. I am in desperate need as I am pregnant with our first baby and didn’t expect this to happen.

I want to tell my story and maybe someone has had something similar or if someone can give me some news on how long the wait is.
I am currently in Cuidad Juarez with my husband. We came for the interview this week July 2019. I filed i601a for him, me being his petitioner.
During his interview, they asked him where I was, to which he replied "outside or in the hotel waiting for me".
I was luckily outside waiting.
They asked him to bring me to the interview. His documents were good and he had everything!
But once I got there they made me fill out paperwork and made me do an oath that everything stated was truthful, to which it is.
Then they gave my husband the 221g form because they suspect about......... my citizenship.
I am a US citizen and am appalled that they suspect of me being a fraud. Just because I was born with a midwife in the 90's. BUT MY WHOLE FAMILY ARE CITIZENS.
They gave me an email to which I have to send MY proof of citizenship. NOT through the DHL.
So I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar case as me?
If so, how long did the administrative processing take?

EliLA reacted to Elif_and_Greg in Fiancee was denied her visa and issued a 221g.
That's personally very scary to me. Why wouldn't they even want to see proof during the interview? You can do so much to prepare a case, have enough evidence for your NOA2, and then just on a whim a consulate agent can just be like, "Nope.".
Are they just trying to get applicants in and out of there so they can go to lunch early or something? I'm very sorry this has happened to you. My fiance, when she applied for a tourist visa two times, and she was denied outright at the interview stage, she feels so nervous about the K1 interview that they'll just flatly deny her, despite all of our evidence of our relationship.

We are in AP as well, almost two months now. We didn't have all the documents at the interview so we had to send a couple of other documents they requested. They gave my fiance his passport back at the interview.
I'll be emailing Aug 4 (60 days after documents were accepted) to check on things, but will definitely be making a plan B as well.

EliLA reacted to mtempelaar in How much time
Things always change. You can't rely completely on one other application as your rule of thumb. Statistically speaking, that's a very low sample size.
The application is different
The Petitioner and Beneficiary are different
The immigration officer/interviewer is different
The questions will likely be somewhat different.
My husband did a naturalization application. It took 10 months and his interview was stressful. A peer of mine did an application for his mother for the same local office, she was initially rejected, had to do second interview and it took > a year. Someone who reports to me did an application right after my husband and he was approved and took the oath within 2 months Three examples, same local field office, three totally different experiences.
There is no way to predict 100% how long you would have to submit it but if you end up in Administrative Processing, it could take a while (I agree with the 1 year as a possibility provided previously).
If your family member is hestitant, have them provide sponsor documentation in a sealed envelope to you to bring with you. If it's needed (sounds like it will be) unseal and hand over. If not needed, you hand the sealed envelope right back to the family member afterwards. But you really need to bring that affidavit with you. Don't give the the consulate a chance to deny it based on finances.
BTW, I understand you are stressed but the people on this forum are trying to HELP you.

So as long as you accept the fact that doing it your way will likely create additional (unknown duration) wait time for the visa, feel free. And please let us know how it turns out.
