01/04/2024, CARD IS BEING PRODUCED... sobbed for half an hour when I received the notification, after 3 years of waiting, so glad at least this chapter has been successfully completed.
Really weird journey since I had 3 interviews, all showed up but got canceled after at least 3-hour wait each time. Yesterday was the "not actually an interview but kinda interview" experience?! The officer was such a good egg, super gentle and sweet, kept apologizing for not having my case file, only checked my ID and passport, then my attorney and I were given a continuation notice then got sent out. We were there like only for 5 min, and 4 min were for him taking photocopies of my ID and passport, lol. I was told by the officer that I should receive another notice for another interview no later than the first week of March...super upset at first, because it was the 3rd time I got de-scheduled and I couldn't quite understand what happened, it all happened too fast, tho I almost fell asleep after 3-hour wait (the appointment time was at 7am). But I guess the officer might found my case file later and liked what he saw.
In my experience, proactive efforts like repeated expedite requests, contacting my congressperson, utilizing Infopass appointments, and having a dedicated and caring attorney can be game changers for navigating a challenging and complicated immigration path.

You're not alone, brother. Well, at least you didn't have to go in for 3 interviews and waiting for 3 4 hours each time then only to be told you got canceled and bye bye see you next time....

Hi guys, first of all congratulations! I hope the oath goes well and hopefully we can all be there soon. It is such a big accomplishment.
Please don't take this the wrong way--but I was wondering if we could keep the discussion focused on the timelines. I know the questions you have here are important, but maybe personal message or a different thread would be great for this topic? What do you think? Folks see the thread being updated and think if there is something related to the timeline, just to find something else.

That's quite presumptuous as I don't have an interview schedule yet, lol. But I'll take it!! 💃

17Miller reacted to mam521 in How can I get the 48 months extension letter for I-751
It would appear that in many of these cases, filing for citizenship is bubbling them from the bottom of the I-751 ocean floor to the surface. People seem to be getting traction for combo interviews. Just food for thought as you navigate what sounds like a rather exhausting journey!

17Miller reacted to da95826 in N-400 decision
It is unusual for an n400 decision not to be made in a year.
They can make case inquiries with USCIS as USCIS has 120 days to make a decision on the n400 case after an interview, so USCIS is way beyond their own standards to make a decision within 120 after a n400 interview.
They may wish to consult with an immigration attorney to check out his options to take USCIS to court. They could sue for the delay in deciding the case (Mandamus action) or possibly get a judge to review the case and issue them citizenship. Consulting an immigration attorney about any possible issues with their n400 case would be a good idea also; going over any criminal issues, good faith marriage, or time outside of the US during statutory period issues they may have.
Given the delay in the n400 case I would be concerned that USCIS is considering denying the case. The question is where they qualified for naturalization when they filed?
Possible issues:
Being out of the USA too long or too much
Any criminal history
If marriage case, was there issue with marriage during green card process.

17Miller reacted to Danmuji in Expedited Passport. Stuck "In Process" since 10/28
It ended up taking 3 months.
If passport not in hand 5 weeks. Id recommend Go ahead and contact state senator office.
They got me an passport agency appointment within week and had our passport same day of the appt.
Just make sure iternry leaving within two weeks ready among other things the passport agenxy asks you to have.

Easy solution - USCIS doesn't get the fee until the petition is complete. Would probably cause USCIS to get it's act together overnight.
