I'm not buying the whole "lush" being an all over the UK thing, I'm gonna say the midlands down, it's not a term I was ever accustomed to hearing on the regular that's for sure 🤣

I'm glad everyone is doing well however and getting on with things as best as possible given our new covid lifestyles 🤗

Sweet, that's great news on your AOS, being approved, I am still patiently waiting for mine. Another 6 months and that will be the 2 year mark 😬. California does seem to be dragging it feets on the scheduling of interviews compared to other states.

Glad you guys are doing well, must be that stiff old British upper lip with regards to covid my household took it all very seriously too.  The wife and I have both been vaccinated, and doing our best to embrace life as it is at the moment.

Glad to hear you didn't suffer any damage to you house during your freak storm there @Wuozopo or any financial hardship by it's occurrence and are otherwise doing well 😊

I had my AOS interview this morning (for a conditional greencard) at the San Fernando Valley USCIS.

We arrived at 9:05am - our appointment was scheduled for 9:15am (you won't be granted access if you're more than 15 minutes early). After presenting out initial documents at the window (much like at my original visa interview), we then waited for 45 minutes to be summoned for our interview in a little office.

The interview lasted about 20 minutes and the proof we'd brought was sufficient (we provided proof of our house purchase, wedding photos, our jointly filed tax return and our medical/life insurance). We were asked some simple questions, such as confirming each other's birthdays, full names, address, whether I'd committed any crimes/whether I'm planning any terrorism, etc. We were then asked how we met, what we did on our first date - and how/when my husband proposed - and this part of the interview was just like a friendly chat 🙂.

The only issue was my medical form - there is a section on there for Class A illnesses, which apparently the doctor was supposed to put a cross in each of the boxes to say I DIDN'T have those conditions. My doctor left those sections blank. I was quite surprised to hear this, as ordinarily with these types of forms, they tell you to put a check or mark in the boxes if you DO have them - and put nothing if you don't... unfortunately, I don't have a copy of that part of the medical, I just have a copy of the vaccinations section.

The interviewer told me she was approving me for everything else - and that she was going to check with her supervisor, to see if she could approve me for the medical also, or if I'd need to get a new medical done. So now we have to wait to see if I get a green card or a RFE! I'll update when I know more.

You won't find on the USCIS website specifically saying that you can send at 180 days. But when you have a combo card, and want the combo card card to be renewed, you may send the 131 form with the 765 form at 180 days. That's what I did, that's what everyone else has been doing in the past months. Check the Aug 2019/Sept 2019/Oct 2019 posts to see everyone that sent them together and got approved in 1 or 2 months.

ConnorS got a reaction from SEWI in Mobile Phone and Moving to the US
what phone where you thinking of buying?  My last 3 phones I have purchased have all been dual sim phones so I can rock 2 sim cards at the one time, one for my US sim the other for my UK sim, so I'm contactable on both at all times.  Funnily enough I had the exact same deal on three mobile as @SEWI and I remember being annoyed when they changed it to £20 and thinking I was being screwed, looking back I had it so good compared to here in the states 🤣😅. I changed from 3 to giff gaff due to 3's fair use policy, plus I only need to top it up £10 every six months to keep the line active and send a text or make a call, plus most calls back to the UK are over WhatsApp or instagram to family and friends, and if I have to call a UK business I've also used rebtel which is an app for cheap calls which is linked to my UK mobile number too.

Oneplus phones are great for dual sim purpose and they make high spec phones. However if your more the apple than android fan, there handsets will work just fine too.

I had my interview today between 1:30pm to 2:00pm mountain time.
My husband and I were allowed to go inside uscis 15 minutes to our interview time.

So the officer was a lady.
My husband was called first together with our immigration lawyer. After about 13 minutes later I was called to come in and my hubby was asked to leave the interview room.
The officer asked me to take an oath to tell the truth. After that the oath, she ask me to mention my legal name, asked of my DoB, my parents full name, where I was born, and when I arrived in US. Then, she went through the I-485 application questions (the yes and no questions) with me.
She asked if there are any redflags in my marriage.
Afterwards, she ask me to talk to her about my marriage life.
She asked where and when I met my hubby for the first time, asked if I have met my hubby's family members, places we have visited, which pet we have and its name, where we both work and how we go to work.

She later said she is going to do her reviews. But talk about 10 years green card since my marriage is over 2years.

So in all my interview went well and according to my immigration lawyer, he said the officer was looking for reasons to approve me. So i did well.

No I have not received a new card/approval as yet.  I got the noa1 confirming they had received my application and it was being processed as of the 4th of August.  My current one doesn't expire until February of next year so I'm not concerned at the moment, and why worry it's not as though it's within my control, just gotta roll with the punches 🥊🤪

@Fe.Ta don't worry just chill, it will come, and will most likely be a receipt number one digit up from your ead's 🤣🤣🤣

Had the interview today. It was kinda weird but probably the easiest part of the process.

We waited about 40 minutes before being called. The officer asked for our passports, birth certificates, marriage license. I also gave him a court order saying I changed my name, but he barely looked at it.

He asked if I had a new medical. I said no because I wasn't required to do so. Then he asked for photos of us and other documents the showed both our names. Then he asked me If I have been arrested, been denied entry to the US and when was the last time I entered the US. All of that without making any comments.

Then he asked my husband about his job. We told him he got a new job after the initial application, so we gave him a new affidavit of support and a new employment verification letter. He also asked if I was working, I said yes, and gave him my employment letter.

He finished saying everything looked good and we would get the card in the mail in 2 weeks.

I reminded him one more time my name changed and asked if I would receive the card with the new name. He said: "Oh right, can I see the court order again?". I showed him again and he wrote down the new name. I also showed him my new SSC with the new name.

He said again we would get the card in 2 weeks.

The interview was probably only 5 minutes long.

    @Meg101

The short answer is your shots are perfect and you need to go to a Civil Surgeon for a complete exam. Take that DS-3025  vax form and he will copy that info onto his form. Take your proof of a flu jab and he will add it as well.

I spoke to the visa medical clinic on the phone once because so many people on VJ were having lost medicals. They go from the airport to storage at the National records center. When you apply for AOS, they pull your file and match it up to your AOS application. It’s probably just misfiled and they couldn’t be bothered to find it and send it. Anyway, the person at the clinic said they are contracted to the embassy (Dept of State) to provide the medical report,  so send everything they have to the embassy. They don’t keep a patient file on you because you won’t be back as their ongoing patient. Not sure how true that Is. The embassy doesn’t store every immigrant  file. They put all your paper files—petition, interview stuff, and medical report, in that white envelope and you transport it to the US and hand over at POE. I thought with the clinic doing digital files now and the embassy doing more digital, you might get lucky. The spouse visa people at London have no white envelop because they are all digital now.

But it sounds like the clinic won’t release anything, even if they did maintain a digital file.  The embassy statement says they can’t release anything and you would have to file with their “parent”, the Dept of State for a release to the USCIS. Who knows how long that would take and would it ever find it’s way to you local office. But if you try it, be sure and make it clear the exact office, address, and officer ( if you have a name). They will not release to you, but I don’t know how the INA confidentiality applies to going straight to your local USCIS office from the Dept of State. If you want to get on with the greencard, then the easiest is a new medical. But look into that Freedom of Information Act link if you like.
  22. Thanks

I never explained the waiver letters on your shot form.
Those marked A are baby shots that are not required for Adults so “Not age appropriate” for an adult. The Tdap has to be within the last 10 years because Tetanus (the T part) is recommended every 10 yrs. Since you would not be due another now, they put the waiver “insufficient time interval” (B) meaning 10 years hasn’t passed for you to get a new one at this time.  Varicella History is checked meaning you had varicella (chickenpox) and are immune so Varicella shot waived. And F is the waiver for “Not flu season” because your exam was in the summer. So you were good to go because you were signed off on shots in London. You would not be required to get a flu shot had your medical file been found because on the date you were signed off, you were complete. But with a brand new exam, you start over with a new exam date of record. It is flu season now so a flu shot would be appropriate on a new exam. Luckily, you already got one so nothing new needed now.  Good luck to you. Hope you find a good price. Unlike the contracted Visa clinic, Civil Surgeons can charge whatever they want to. Your civil surgeon does not have to be local or even in your state.

What they said is they don't keep copies of the medical. All originals are sent to the embassy. And the embassy puts it in the envelope that you gave to the officer at POE.

I'm sorry that happened, but I think you will have to redo your medical with a civil surgeon and send it to your local office.

    "Permanent roaming restrictions
You can only use Go Roam for periodic travel, like holidays or short breaks. To ensure all customers can benefit from roaming at no extra cost, we have put in place the following rules for prolonged periods of roaming.
If you're in a Go Roam in Europe destination
We'll monitor your usage, and if you spend most of your time abroad and consume more abroad than at home over a four month period, we have the right to add a small surcharge to your continued roaming usage.
We'll send you an alert two weeks before the surcharge applies.
If you're in a Go Roam Around the World destination
We'll monitor your usage, and if you spend two complete months in a Go Roam Around the World destination, we have the right to suspend international roaming services on your account. This means you'll no longer be able to use your device abroad. If you spend a full two months abroad but some of that time is spent in a destination that isn't included in Go Roam, the restriction won't apply"

Direct from the horses mouth, or website in this case. 🤪  I think if you have managed to use Go Roam for over 2 months without issue your doing really well @LukeU. I left three specifically because I was losing all the benefits of being with them such as this.  Been with giff gaff for almost 2 years now (1 year and 2 months state side).  Topped it up with a tenner twice and it's still active, like others have mentioned other than it being linked to my whatsapp I also have it linked to my banking accounts and transfer wise so it's handy to have
