    Really?

What do you call it when someone enters with the intent to immigrate on a non-immigrant visa/VWP and adjust status and that preconceived intent is not counted against them?  A green card holder.  Seems like a loophole.  A legal loophole.

The officer was great and friendly but professional. Confirmed data from I-485, asked how we met and if my husband has visited me , yes no questions, asked me to give her some proofs not already submitted , told me that I did great work with it and congratulated me. That was it !

Quite honestly, it depends on who your IO is.  They seem to each look for their own "telltale signs" of a real relationship.  Our officer really focussed on my name change, that i was on the car insurance and health insurance.  He didn't ask about dates aside from relationship dates.  I truly couldn't have planned for what I got outside of knowing every detail on my application.  My mother's place of birth threw me and I got lectured for it.  My case definitely is not the norm, and was similar to a case someone from the Philadelphia office recently posted about.  Just be honest and know about your life.  And your spouse's life.

Since our interview is soon too I might suggest you to try to make a joint account at Western Security Bank or Wells Fargo . I did not have SSN at the time we opened our accounts and they asked only for my passport.
Also, I suggest to ask your friend to write a statement that you rent from him and notarize the statement. Ask some friends for affidavits that you are real couple ( also
notarized) .You may have health , life , vehicle insurance with both names . Also letters from your / her family , joint membership in Sams club or Costco or maybe a gym .
That is something I can think of . The other members will add more .
    I wish you good luck ! 😃

She asked us how we met, about our first date, how my husband proposed and how I liked Tennessee. I was stressed about it in the lead up to it, but honestly it was fine. The officer was really nice, we were with her for 30 or minutes

We are going for the interview tomorrow. We don't have much evidence either besides her being on my health insurance. We had a difficult time with the SSA and verification so no SSN.  Blah...We will give it our best song and dance anyway))). I'll post back on what happens...

Why? You can take the EAD back and they can issue SSN based on that. It’s not a mistake, but it just makes things easier

Have the friend draft a lease with both your name and you both sign it.

There are banks that allow you to open one without SSN. For example F-1 students if they don’t work they don’t have SSN but they can open a checking account. Find a bank near a college campus, they’ll know how to do that.

Ah ha, so you have wifi that means you pay an internet bill, an electric bill and (hopefully) a water bill. Add her to those.

Tax returns. What about insurance? Do you have life insurance? It’s dirt cheap. I took a policy for my wife and it’s $200/ year for $500,000 policy. Take one for each of you with the other one as beneficiary. It’s good planning, not just for immigration but for life in general.

Basically, the more evidence you have on financial commingling and cohabitation the better

Sounds pretty sufficient to me. Just work with all you have and be sure to clearly list these evidences in your cover letter. It honestly all comes down to the way you “sell your evidence”.
For example instead of just writing pictures say “photos from our wedding day on ** insert date here*
and instead of just saying letters, write letters for my husband (x) and myself showing same address/ residence.
seems simple but it makes a difference.

Omg. My husband knows all about my previous 2 marriages as well as why they ended . I know about his . But he is an old man ( 70) and not good with dates , I am old too  and we have never discussed that dates just our previous marriages .. I can’t believe that dates might be asked and I am sure we will not know . Now so concerned 😟
    Thank for sharing that detail.
For the OP - please find the way to tell her ! Don’t hide anything from her ! Not only that it might cost her denial , but it is not good way to start your life together.

I think it's important to share your past but even if you don't care to, they will likely ask.  Also realize, she will probably see copies of the paperwork and you have to disclose this on the application.
As an FYI, we had our interview this week, and she was asked about my previous marriage and dates.

But this was a self-fulfilling prophecy, wasn't it?

Create a cheap labour market with undocumented workers, and they will of course fill the least desirable jobs. Americans are priced out of this artificially lowered wage gap.

Remove the illegal workers, the market will once again dictate a fair price at which those jobs will be filled. Americans will fill those jobs, because they must be filled. This is the invisible hand of the market at work.

I try to explain this to people here in NC because a lot of the farm and processing plant workers are illegal. The argument from some on the Left is that "they work jobs that Americans don't want to do". When in reality and I know from first hand experience that Americans will work those jobs if the pay is right.

Where I live at in NC tobacco is the primary crop that is farmed and my mother actually earned enough money from picking it to buy her first car years ago. So she decided one summer that us boys would learn how to pick it and earn some money as well. She called around to the different farmers and they all said "We will not pay your boys $6 an hour because we pay the Mexicans $2 an hour". So we had to work for $2 an hour in order to work that summer.
