You seem to confuse the Make Work Pay credit with the EITC. The former was limited to $800.00 so people that paid no income taxes and get thousands worth of tax returns derive that refund from the EITC and child tax credits.
Fact remains that Obama has lowered the tax burden on the middle class by an average of $3,600.00 over the last 4 years. It is not Obama taking credit for Bush's tax cuts as uninformed Paul falsly claims.

But the middle class tax relief that Obama is taking credit for is the "Making Work Pay" tax credit ($800.00 in 2009 and 2010 = $1,600.00 for the average family) and the payroll tax holiday which provided an average benefit of $1,000.00 each in 2011 and 2012 = $2,000.00. Taken together, these two middle class tax relief measures saved the typical American family $3,600.00 over the last 4 years.
