RFIE for both I765 and I131 this morning! I sent everything required+ so I'm presuming something was misplaced.
What could have they misplaced for the I-765. I am about to lose my job because of this process.

Yours was for your I864 (I485), hunny and I'm presuming because the process is seperate but who knows, lol.
Most EAD/AP RFIE/RFE's I've seen come when they are actually ready to be approved.
You got an RFE for I-765 really? I am unfortunately scared that RFIE is coming for me too. Everyone around me seems to be getting their EAD except from me.

Wait for another week or you can call their 800 number.
The problem is that when you send out the application you cant't do anything even if you call you don't have a receipt number to refer to and you can Just call and say I send an application to chicago find it. People send more than a million applications a year.

Hey yall,
A little concerned....I mailed AOS, EAD, and AP out March 1st. They received it March 4th. I have still yet to receive a text or any NOAs, and no checks have been cashed....Has anyone else experienced this sort of delay? We sent to the Chicago Lock-Box.
Very normal. There is no delay. They received it on March 4th. It's barely been two weeks.

Hi all,
I got my NOA’s in mail yesterday.
The received date and the notice date are different. For NOA we use received date right?
The only date that matters is the date on NOA.

You can use this fun little tool to check the processing times just enter your filed office and application type.

My now husband is LOSING HIS MIND with boredom. But it seems better every week. I work very long hours...leave the house at 6:45am and am not usually back before 7pm (used to be much later, but I'm leaving earlier now that he's here). He does a lot of cooking (which is AMAZING for me), is reading a lot, has made a few friends at the local pub (he's irish, so to the pub he goes!), goes running, and does errands...he is studying for the driving test, got his medical done today for the driving test, opened a bank account, went to the social security office, is signing up to volunteer at the fire house, and just started taking guitar lessons. Honestly, he is so bored and not used to not working. He's worked with barely a vacation for 25 years!! But I think he's getting more used to the idea that he doesn't actually HAVE to work for the first time in his life. For me it's wonderful because he cleans, goes to the supermarket every day, cooks dinner every night, etc. Not a bad deal
But I feel for him. It's so hard to be in a new place and know nobody. It takes serious guts!! I can't imagine what it feels like. I am in awe of all of you who have picked up your life and started over. It's crazy brave!
You have at least a year of processing time for the green card and like 5-6 months for the work authorization. He needs to create a routine and stick to it. This whole process can be very hard psychologically for a lot of people.

Mine is Chicago IL. I don't know long is the processing time , i heard it is long.
The processing time for Chicago is 13.5 - 36 months. You got long ways to go. Plus keep in mind processing times increase almost every other month.

Oh those days are long gone now, I'm literally drooling at how it was issued so quick back in the days! To be fair, I'm only technically on Day 111- which isn't even considered yet 'within normal processing times' yet according to USCIS site! I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually increase it to 5-7 months in the future. I'm sure there are so many filers way before me still waiting!
Just keeping the faith!
It took a friend of mine 88 days from application to GC in 2016. Good old days! I couldn't believe the guy!

Yeah it is actually really interesting to read the USCIS Ombudsman report
"Q: Of those applications that are eligible for the 180-day auto-extension, how many have been pending over 150 days? A: 19,204 applications pending over 160 days, 18,917 over 180 days."

I'm sometimes moan in my head and think jeez about why it takes so long but in fairness, the NBC have thousands and thousands of combos to process. Got to stay positive I tell myself
I have applied for EADs in the past twice they used to take 2 months top. My first one came in 6 weeks. This administration has made so many changes they can't seem to really catch up.
-
To be honest it seems like it must be an absolute chaos over there because of the backlog. I don't understand how other people who have applied the same time like me already got their EAD cards and others who have real reasons to expedite are still waiting with no updates.

how long ago was that? Sorry to hear this, making me cringe reading this
It's been almost a month since the expedite.

The instructions of the document explain what I-131 allows you to do and how you will be processed. You are still subject to admission in the United States at the point of entry because you are not a citizen or permanent resident and it will be like every other time. Some places they ask questions some others they don't. I have flown through Chicago and New York and it was like a walk in the park. Detroit on the other hand always sucks.

Oh okay! Interesting. I was under the impression NBC handled all AOS cases.
Me too but it looks like for some reason some are send to California Service Center. Or at least that's what people claim.
-
A pattern I noticed both for Detroit and Boston is that the majority of people who have gotten an interview were processed at California Service Center. The ones that are still waiting are at National Benefits Center.

Hello everyone I called and spoke to a customer service representative last Wednesday. I explained that I have a job offer and the fact that I am unable to go on my husbands benefits. This is the response I got last Saturday in the screenshot. Is this a denial? Haven’t heard back since then. I checked my status and it says it was assigned to an officer.
I really have no idea what is going on because I have a job and have filed for an expedite and no one really seems to care. I faxed the evidence and everything but have 0 updates on the case. I currently have a job and I will lose it if they don't expedite my EAD. Not a strong enough case. I guess.
-
Something weird that I saw today is that In Detroit field office some people who filed AOS in mid late December or January and they are being called for interviews. Others have been waiting in the timeline since early October and still have no updates on their case. I thought there is some sense of first come first serve in the local offices.

Correct!
And if I do receive an RFE for it, then I'll know to contact USCIS to complain about their poor wording choice 😂
I hope no one receives an RFE and that everyone get approved. This is my understanding of the language that they use. If you google there is a lot of discussions about this. I submitted a certified copy by the state that's what I believe is the most appropriate. Even when my wife changed her name on SSN they requested certified copy of marriage license and not just a photocopy.
-

If this was the case, they would have specifically requested a 'Certified Copy', I think, not worded it as a photocopy. Either way, there have been people approved with either; it's going to depend on the officer who looks at the case as to what is accepted. Some are going to be stricter, others more lenient.
But is does say a copy issued by the appropriate civil authority. It doesn't say just a photocopy.

Ummmm sorry but you are 1000% wrong on that. Yes you can photocopy your original or certified MC. That's how every single one of us in this forum who has read the instructions has done it with zero problems.
So you are telling me that you took your original marriage license and scanned it and send it in. I on the other hand requested a copy from the state stamped and printed in the appropriate paper but a copy that you make on your printer at home is more valid than a copy made by the appropriate civil authority, based on the instructions you just shared in the forum.

Sorry but where have you read this^^^^^^^^?
The instructions for submitting copies on ALL USCIS forms state this:
"Copies.
You should submit legible photocopies of documents requested, unless the Instructions specifically state that you must submit an original document. USCIS may request an original document at the time of filing or at any time during processing of an application, petition, or request. If USCIS requests an original document from you, it will be returned to you after USCIS determines it no longer needs your original. NOTE: If you submit original documents when not required or requested by USCIS or the Immigration Court, your original documents may remain a part of the record, USCIS or the Immigration Court will not automatically return them to you, and your original documents may be immediately destroyed upon receipt."
And the instructions for the MC state this:
"Marriage Certificate and Other Proof of Relationship
If you are filing Form I-485 as the derivative applicant spouse of the principal applicant, you generally must submit a photocopy of your marriage certificate issued by the appropriate civil authority where the marriage took place. Refugee derivative applicant spouses do not need to submit a photocopy of the marriage certificate. There are also some immigrant categories that require the principal applicant to submit a marriage certificate (for example, K-1 nonimmigrants (person admitted to the United States as a fiancé(e)), abused spouses and children under the Cuban Adjustment Act (CAA), Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act (HRIFA) dependents, and abused spouses and children under HRIFA). See the Additional Instructions for more category-specific information. If either party to this marriage was previously married, you must also submit evidence to prove the legal."
So a PHOTOCOPY of the original or a PHOTOCOPY of the certified copy is acceptable. This would not be a reason for @DeepakChani's RFE.
What do you think "you generally must submit a photocopy of your marriage certificate issued by the appropriate civil authority where the marriage took place." This means a copy provided by the county that you submitted the original marriage licence. For example I live in Michigan my county provides photocopies singed and issued by the appropriate authority. https://www.washtenaw.org/DocumentCenter/View/755/Request-for-Certified-Copies-of-Birth-Marriage-Death-Business-Names-and-Military-Discharge-PDF. I added a link that explains exactly how you get a certified copy of your marriage license. You don't just take your original marriage license and scan it and make a copy. You need a copy that is issued by the authority not a copy you made your self.
