I was in the same boat for almost a year with more than 4 inquiries to USCIS with all different kind of pending and wait 60 days or 90 days to your case will be forwarded to the appropriate department for an action.

Thank god for guiding me to write to my congressman. In 2 weeks I received my oath ceremony and I regret wasting all this time with the USCIS inquiries and I wish I have written to the congressman within the 120 days.

I hope that works for you as well...

Unfortunately I never heard back from congressman  ,I send him a mail almost 2 month ago.

I did apply my N400 while my I 751 is pending.

After 5 months I got to interview in Chicago on Nov 19th.

I went alone, without my wife and the interviewer had one file for me.

Passed my civic exam and my English one, but she said she can't make a decision as my I 751 is not approved yet even though she did go through my marriage information and I did submit wedding pictures, 3 years of tax return, and baby birth cert. and my wife's papers like BC and passport.

Not sure how long it will take them to approve my N400 but according to some reading in this forum I think it is a very long process and I may hit 120 without any answer.

Any similar cases and how long did it take to end up?

I am from Chicago and it has been almost 4 month since I had my interview ,no updates

did you bring updated evidence? nobody told me to.

very frustrating you haven't heard in 3months - have you tried to call USCIS and speak to somebody there?

Yes I brought just in case . I was there couple weeks ago to get stamp to my passport they said case is still pending ( my I 751) .I guess they don’t have any other answer. But I start to take action now send mail to Congressman and Senator. And will  plan to call USICS next week

Last Friday I was called in for the N400 interview. Just to make sure I brought my wife with me.
The officer was super-nice, he said he would try to do a combo interview as my i-751 is still pending but he warned we needed further evidence as all of our previous evidence is two years old (obviously, we submitted in Feb 2018). He recommended my wife to go gather tax returns for 2017-2018, more recent bank statements, more recent insurance docs, more recent utilities, while I would do the n-400 civics test.
So we started with questions for i-751, then I did the n-400 part while my wife went to a fedex next door to print whatever docs she could find (for instance, she couldn't answer my life insurance). When she got back the officer gave us a paper saying "a decision cannot be made about your application" since the new docs had to be reviewed, and he said they would send us notification by mail.
It's very frustrating as if we were told in advance they needed more recent docs we would have prepared something better instead of scrambling things at fedex.

I had all my evidence with me , it has been 3 month since I attend my interview. No word from USICS , I started action will mail letter to Congressman,Senator etc

Send the letter. Make sure it's certified mail. It only costs a few bucks, but it sends a signal.

Every advise I've given is what I did personally. In fact, I was even more aggressive. First, I sent them a message every 2 weeks after my initial interview via the USCIS website (same message, copy & paste, with just the timelines changed). They responded by saying the Field Office would be notified. On Day 90 I sent them the letter. Certified mail. I also contacted my Congress rep, and began to prepare to file a lawsuit on Day 121. 2 weeks later I got a call from the USCIS officer. Case resolved.

The common error people make is to treat USCIS like a person. They're a bureaucracy, and they're swamped. If your case slips by for one reason or another, you could experience severe delays. It's not personal. You need to know the law/policy, and then force them to act when the law is on your side.

I think in my case it’s personal reason which cause delay .Officer was rude to me ask weird questions and make strange comments.( he also was from country  which my original country have a problems now) so when I left interview I knew 100% my case will be delayed.
