SkeletonNessa got a reaction from Chene in Federal Tax Return or Transcript
To piggyback off of this,  since you never filed, you may have to physically make an appointment at your local tax office and go to request one.
I had to wait several months of going back and forth with the website, and phones before I was told this, after being told over and over that it was fine and I would receive a copy in the mail. But when I went in person, they printed them out for me and I got them same-day.

Update! My friend made it to Oslo! The check in agent at Boston didn't know what the UDI declaration form was (the document your Norwegian partner needs to fill out) but his supervisor recognized it immediately and checked her in. She went through normal passport controls in Iceland and Oslo and only had to present her passport and UDI form, and was only asked the normal questions (who are you visiting, where are you staying). We had prepared so many other documents verifying the relationship, proving his address (since that's where she must quarantine for 10 days), etc. But fortunately, she didn't need any of it. She said Iceland Air also blocks off seats so you wont be sitting directly next to anyone which was obviously another concern of hers. She felt more safe on the flights than she thought she would.

It seems there have been many issues with people trying to transit through Frankfurt or Amsterdam, so I'd recommend Iceland Air if you're thinking of visiting to ease your stress. Good to know it's possible to visit, for sure! My heart goes out to all of you going through this process on top of a global pandemic ❤️

Yes, actually they did reply to me after I had posted here. Seems like the "no questions at this time" doesn't apply to K1 😊

I got this automatic reply when I extended my NOA2 again a month ago. We got a reply surprisingly fast (2 days) after sending in an updated proofs of relationship chat pictures pdf from the last 3 months.

The embassy in Sweden has told me that they will not process any K1s until they are open after closure from the pandemic AND after the proclamation EU travel ban is lifted.

As expected, whenever a hardliner rule was set out to curb legal immigrants. You can see a bunch of elite members here who are done or almost done with their journey, gathering and chanting the rule is reasonable. I'm not going to reply or read any of you people replies, so don't waste your time. This forum is used to be good and filled with tolerant members, now it became a favorite gathering place of Trump's cult. Excuse for my bad English, I'm not from your 1st countries.

Only people who already have a SSN when applying for a marriage license must provide one.  Otherwise, no foreign national could come to the US to be married?

  9. Thanks
SkeletonNessa reacted to Lil bear in k1 Visa procedure after arriving the us
No you do not have to marry before that expires .. if you don’t apply for AOS within 1 year if the k1 medical date  ( ??? this is the correct time frame I think ) , then you have to do another medical. So timely filing is good for all sorts of reasons.
But make sure you apply fir your SSN .. in person at the SSA office ... before you marry otherwise you will have to wait until you get the EAD in hand. Print off your I 94 from the CBP page and take that plus your passport to the SSA office

Lots of LPRs don't speak the local language in the US which is English.  This is why they are allowed to bring a translator to their AOS interview.  Speaking English is not a requirement to immigrate to the US.

Because when we began dating language wasn't a barrier. It was much easier for us to conduct our life in Chinese. We initially didn't have plans to have our life in the US but things change. She can't speak English yeah it's a minor inconvenience, but in the same way I learned Chinese while being in China, she will learn English while being in the US.

SkeletonNessa reacted to geowrian in Trump Admin Gives ICE Expedited Removal Authority
Mistakes have happened. The concern I have with this policy change is that mistakes will happen more often.
ICE isn't exactly known for precision - they do their assigned job then let the courts figure out the details. Without a court to catch mistakes, the risk of mistaken and improper removals can only go up.

It's like letting the police determine guilt of traffic violations. Yeah, most of the time they're right and it would improve court load, but bypassing due process is pretty serious and only makes sense in limited circumstances.
I'm holding judgement until I can read the actual rule. If there are reasonable protections in place to limit the scope to avoid mistakes, I'm cool with it. If the only limit is 2 years of presence (which ICE gets to determine if you proved it or not), then I think it's gone too far - and likely will be struck down for subverting the court's duty.
    As always, detaiIs matter.

Now I ask myself how do I get ppl to read the first post on the first page so they don't ask redundant questions? Then I have to ask myself why don't they read the questions that others are asking from previous pages. Oh well just have to help them along. Hint hint.

Contact the embassy and ask for an extension to your NOA2 validity date. If granted they will extend it for 4 more months which I believe you can meet. No problem with this as it is done often.

Haven't gotten a response to my email inquiry. So, I just called the NVC today to see if they received the application from USCIS...no one answers and I get an answering machine message that doesn't put me on hold, just tells me to check the website, call later and then hangs up...

The employees work under an underfunded inefficient system .. they don’t create the system .. they make it work somehow despite the system.

Sounds like my MIL.  She was very against my then fiancé coming over, but she is fine now.  Sure she issues the guilt trip on Katya occasionally, but she is fine.  As others have mentioned, the options are limited and time consuming here, so you will have to make a tough choice very soon.  Good luck!

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong please share your findings. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community that comes behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.
