My husband just had his interview, his medical has not arrived yet but otherwise he is approved! Btw, we did not bring a DS5540, and they did not ask for one, due to the current court block on the 2019 DOS public charge criteria

My husband just got approved! His medical had not arrived yet (he only got it done 8 days ago) but that's okay, he needs his passport to travel back to Denmark so I assume the medical will have arrived by the time his passport gets to the embassy. So beyond happy!! Finally we are done 18 months later
I haven't gotten the chance to call him since he needed to catch his flight back home, but I will let you all know the specifics when I get to talk to him

I’m so happy for you guys ❤️
I’m from Denmark too but applied for K1. Very mixed feelings, reading all these spouse visas getting issued, no offense. I’m so very happy for you!

Do you mind me asking, is your case being processed as a routine or do you have some special reason? I’m just trying to find a little hope since my fiancé and I got trapped in this COVID mess after our petition was approved right when it all started 😣

    Hi guys!

I just came across this group a few days ago and figured I would share my experience.

I had my visa interview in Stockholm on the 24th of July. The interview process was quite quick and easy, but I was asked to send some additional documents. That part took a while, but I was told that my visa is approved on the 13th of August. I agree with the comments that the receptionist ( the lady) was quite rude and difficult to deal with, but the man that conducted the interview was super nice and easy going. I am currently waiting for my passport to reach Oslo.. it is taking a while.. anyone know how long that could take? I mean Stockholm is just 6 hours away from Oslo 😬😂 The whole process has been draining and I can’t wait to finally move to California  I am happy to answer any questions.

The embassy finally approved us after resolving the technical issue regarding my medical results! Now we’ll have to wait up to two weeks for the passport to arrive

Yes it is needed at both, you need to prove that you were BOTH free to marry at the time your marriage took place

    Hello everyone,

My wife had her interview today.  It was originally scheduled for Aug 28 but we were able to reschedule for today, Aug 20, 11:30 AM Kyiv time.

    The details:
     - She arrived an hour early and waited outside.  They eventually let her in at 12PM, after checking her temperature.  She said some others - students - were turned away because of high temperatrue readings. They were possibly sick, or could have been in the sun too long.  Wife sticks to the shades on sunny days so this wasn't an issue for her.))
     - She submitted her docs and waited inside for about 45 minutes.  The rest of the people waiting were students.
    - A young lady coducted her interview in English.  5 questions:
       - How we met
       - Why she left the US (she entered last year on K1 but left due to family emergency.  We didn't adjust status)
       - Where I worked
       - When/where we saw each other after she returned to Ukraine
       - My first and last name.

The CO said she was approved.  CEAC case tracker currently shows AP.

I am so relieved.  We didn't have anything to worry about, but still I was a bit nervous.  I was up early when she texted that she was waiting outside.  She took her old phone with her  Now the embassy allows small things - cell phone and/or small purse - to be taken and stored onsite while inside for the interview.   Previously they did not allow any items to be stored and stated should be left behind.

Next is getting her a flight over here.))

    Good luck everyone!

Great news for Guyana!  Airports are officially opening as of September 1, 2020.  Hopefully the Embassy staff can plan a safe return to work and they can move on to Phase 2 and start processing spousal visas!

So in Romania we get our passports back thru TNT( FedEx). My visa was issued on Friday and it was also available for pick up on Friday. I just didn’t make it in time and TNT closed before I got a chance to get there. TNT is closed in the weekend so on Monday I went there and picked up my passport. I am already in the US now.

    Hey guys,

We just received DQ email from NVC. It took only 14 days. They are on fire. Hats off
Now a long journey has started because MTL consulate has not resumed visa services so far and there is a looooooooooooooong waiting line.
    Lets hope for the best.

Thank you so much! It's a big relief to have this part of the process completed.

Yeah, I emailed the embassy after the interview and they told me they're working on the technical issue concerning the results of the submitted medical examination. Hopefully it will be fixed before Friday!

Inside the immigrant visa section of the embassy, window 7 (as mentioned in the appointment notice) is where the document check is performed. They asked for my original birth certificate, our original marriage certificate and my police certificate, in addition to my passport. Finally, they asked when we last saw each other and to provide evidence of ongoing relationship. I had brought flight tickets, a copy of our new lease (with both of our names on it), lots of photos and call logs/messages. The officer took the lease, some pictures and the call logs/message screenshots that I had printed from my phone. All of these were returned, except for the passport, after the actual interview. Everyone was very kind and welcoming for the whole process.

Best of luck to your husband on Friday!

I had my interview this morning at the embassy in Stockholm.
I arrived around 30 minutes before and was let in with no problem. In the immigrant visa area, only two other people were waiting for document check. The interview itself was very short, maybe 5-10 minutes. The consular office asked me some basic information about when and how we met, where we got married, what I'm doing for work and what I'm planning on doing for work in the US. I was outside again after about 1h 30m from arrival.

Since the results of my medical examination has not arrived yet, they could not approve me for the CR-1 visa until they showed up. It appears there's some technical difficulties with the receiving the results, as my physician's office confirmed last week that everything had been submitted on their end. This was also mentioned by the officer who took my documents before the interview.

Email your embassy and ask them if they are taking immigrant visa interview appointments yet, or you can check out the regional forum for your embassy here on VJ
